We walked here from our hotel on a Sunday evening for dinner. The pierogi & kielbasa were so delicious that we ordered a second kielbasa. The ogorkowa (pickle soup) was surprisingly balanced, with mild & just the right amount of pickle flavor. The drinks were delicious, although I ordered a prosecco & got a second Polish mimosa instead. The Polish mimosa was delicious, so I just drank it without complaining. The pork was a little dry & service was slow. However, the pianist was lovely - great song selection & not too loud - so overall, it was a very enjoyable dinner!View more

Metered street parking is always challenging in the Old Port, especially with summer construction. I suggest finding parking outside the Old Port & walking over. It's a beautiful walk. Reservations are highly recommended. There are bar seats for walk-ins. There's live piano music in the evening. The place is charming, but a little dark (wandering to the bathroom is an adventure). There's an original drinks menu. Service was excellent & friendly, everyone was kind & helpful. I love the traditional Polish dishes (I had to google a lot of the names). There's a beginner's plate in the Table d'Hote for those who want to try a little bit of everything. The plate was yummy & generous. I left very full & satisfied.View more

We love this place. Stumbled on it ~10 years ago, & then kept returning. A polish expat place in Montreal that is heartwarming in its superb consistency, straightforward quality. Pierogi , potato pancakes, everything with beet or cabbage are all recommended. Probably the best Schnitzels this side of the Atlantic. Also a great collection of Vodkas, some served with pickle juice - worth trying. The room is pleasant & old fashioned but not aged - highly recommended.View more

First time having Polish food & left very satisfied. The restaurant has a very good vibe, you can enjoy tasty cocktails while a pianist entertains. We ordered the dill pickle soup, peirogis & kroketies! Personal fav was the soup, very light flavorful & nothing like I've ever had.View more

The place had an authentic European feel. It was my first experience with Polish dining & it was memorable! The perogies, potato pancakes, pickled herring & croquettes (three course meal) were excellent. The apple cobbler & sweet cream were a pleasant surprise. The accordion dinner accompaniment was enjoyable, adding to the atmosphere.
Service was reasonably quick considering how packed the place was. Washrooms were clean. I would return to this charming welcoming establishment.View more

Such a lovely dining experience with authentic Polish cuisine! My hubby & I walked in w/o a reservation on a Saturday evening in March at 8:30pm. Despite still being full, we were seated right away at a cozy window table. Upon walking in, you are greeted with wonderful live music from a very talented piano player right at the entrance. The restaurant is warm & cozy with a red light district vibe with the red lampshades on all the lights. Lovely beamed ceilings & church pew bench seats with a long bar on the side. Our waitress was great, professional, & courteous. We ordered perogies, schnitzel, among other Polish dishes, & yummy cocktails. We thoroughly enjoyed each dish & the entire evening. We loved the perogies so much that instead of ordering dessert, we ordered another 8 mushroom perogies to go! I HIGHLY recommend for some authentic Polish cuisine!View more

Cute place with live piano. Attentive service. Great food. If you want to sample a variety of Polish dishes, debutant is a good choice. Sznycel wiedenski & sznycel mielony are both good. Also their beer tastes great. The apple cobbler is a little milder than I expected but still tasty.View more

Just happened upon this restaurant with my wife & two good friends. We had a very traditional Polish meal & everything was fantastic. The Apple cobbler is the best I've ever had. The staff were super friendly & the price is reasonable. I'm sorry I don't live here because I would eat in this restaurant all the time.View more

What a surprise this spot was! We had never eaten Polish food before & boy have we been missing out. The food was great! Our server was super nice & helped us get the best food for our first time. We left stuffed & happy. Loved the cabbage & mushroom pierogis plus the potato pancakes along with the barszcz (beet soup) make sure to add the mushroom dumplings. The sauerkraut is warm & so so delicious. The piano player is phenomenal & plays covers of popular songs. The ambiance is kitschy & cozy. Make reservations or go early because this place is popular. Went here for Valentine's day with the fiancée, food was absolutely delicious, ambiance with the dimmed lights, suspended paintings, very nice. I have been coming here for years & it never disappoints
I had the herring to start & it was perfect not too tangy with sour cream to boot
My main course was the weinerschnitzel & omg it was so huge did not think I could finish it .Thank g-d I skipped lunch

I'm going to start this off by saying that my rental car was smash-grab burglarized nearby, so be careful about street parking if you're coming & have American license plates. THAT SAID, I still had an amazing time: the food was delicious (reminded me of Polish home cooking from my childhood), the service was kind & helpful when I didn't recognize a dish or the name of an ingredient, & OMG THE PIANO playing. It was like stepping into Westworld. I loved every moment in that restaurant.View more

Not going to lie the only experience I previously had with Polish food was the acknowledgement that perogies exist. Thank goodness for the introduction from Stash Cafe. The ambiance is moody, with dark red lanterns & piano music, like an old speakeasy in your grandparents neighborhood. But the food... perogies are delicious dumplings (cheese & potato were my favorite!). Loved the pickled white fish as well. The entire meal was warm & delicious, the perfect pick me up after walking in the snow & cold. The only thing that didn't make me reminisce about my imaginary Polish grandmother was the dessert. It was fine, but there are plenty of places you can go to really satisfy a sweet tooth. Focus on the food & you can't go wrong.View more
