The food was honestly amazing, especially at that pricepoint! Good way to get a cool 4-5 service dinner without having to cringe at your bill at the end of the night (I don't drink booze so that also helps). Service was very slow, but the waitress was alone due to a staff not showing up & we felt really bad for her. Shit happens. Overall a great night nonetheless.View more
MIAM!View more
Visited for drinks at the speakeasy. Had reservations at nine, but the speakeasy wasn't opened yet. Sat at the bar in Vandale. The bartender was incredible & made a drink specifically for my taste that wasn't on the menu. The art is exceptional & makes for a very enriching experience. Spent a lot of the time looking around on the walls & enjoying our drink. The speakeasy is located downstairs right when you walk in. The speakeasy was very dark in a 20s intimate style. The drinks were absolutely phenomenal.View more
To begin with the ambiance was super cool & well designed. We took the 25$ menu & it did not disappoint! The food was amazing & portions were fair! Our waiter was clearly a great human being! Not only was he nice but kind & welcoming! Our drinks were very well made & the presentation was very unique! I had an amazing time & will definitely go backView more
Went here for a girls dinner for a 5à7 on a Thursday. Wednesday's & Thursdays from 5PM-8PM they have $1 oysters & drinks have special pricing. The oysters were okay but the rest was phenomenal! We took the table d'hôte $25 & both beef options were to die for! The pasta was also very good. The staff were also very attentive & kind. Honestly for the price - 100% worth it.View more
Excellente nourriture! Juste un peu overpriced à mon avisView more
View more

Super drink ! Super bouffe & un EXCELLENT service.
Première visite, & loin d'être la dernière !
Merci.
Great atmosphere, gracious staff, delicious food & drinks! I visit here regularly with my team from work & it's always a memorable event!
The ambiance, the food, the Oysters!!, the wine!....all so amazing, so good, so tasty! Our waiter, David, is the classiest, most knowledgeable polite & kind gentleman to ever serve our table - he remembered me from my previous visit last fall, what I ate, what I was allergic to...unbelievable. The Creme Brule with Maple Syrup (complimentary birthday dessert), was to die for. I recommend Le Speakeasy to anyone who is looking to have a classy evening, with excellent food, drink & music. We are definitely going back, many, many more times.
It was a wonderful experience. The drinks were awesome & the service impeccable!
My group of 6 had a fantastic time. Our server David was friendly & very helpful. He advised our drink choices & none of us were disappointed! Name the flavor profile you like, & he will find the best drink for you! We shared a variety of appetizers & entrees & everything was delicious.
Service & food were fantastic! All of our dishes (scallops, tuna, & freekeh) were to die for. The only negative was that one of the cheeses on the cheese platter was far too dry & hard. The drinks & atmosphere were good as well, though the music was a little too loud for my liking.
Great dinner. Amazing drinks & very accommodating to our family. Merci.
Friendly staff, eclectic ambiance, great drinks...service seemed a little disorganized
This is my new favorite place in Montreal! I loved the speakeasy feel from being escorted in to hidden menus in books & the mugshot wall. Our drinks were fantastic, I got the bees knees & my hubby got the old fashioned. Our server David was perfectly attentive & very welcoming & had great recommendations. The food was excellent, we were worried it was going to be too small & expensive but it was actually perfect. It was the right amount of food to fill you up without being overly full & uncomfortable. The cheese plate was divine & more than just hunks of cheese on a plate. We had the shrimp tacos which I'm still craving & the lobster wontons which were perfectly creamy & delightful. Thank you le speakeasy for an excellent experience, we will be back!
So we asked the Concierge at our hotel for a dinner recommendation, & he gave us several. While out checking them, we discovered a man standing in front of a door to a deli with a clipboard. When I asked him whether we could go into the deli, he asked if my name "was on the list." I said, I didn't know, but since he apparently had the list, he could tell me...& that opened the door to our visit to Le Speakeasy.
Once your name is confirmed to be on the list, the doorman invites you in to the deli. Nothing out of the extraordinary, just a deli...until he invites you behind the counter. There, he opens the massive door to the freezer (see the picture) & you walk..only to find yourself in a rip-roaring speakeasy from the 1920s! What a hoot!
But as if the concept wasn't enough, the food was excellent. We started with fresh poured, alcohol rich, drinks & a Plateau Charcute (cold cut platter) for an appetizer. Expert selection of meats, they were tasty & readied us for an excellent meal. My wife had the Tacos de Homard, which were a version of seafood tacos but one laden with delicious vegetables as well. I had the Japanese gyosa stuffed with shrimp, & they were better than those served in an Asian restaurant I've ever eaten in. Without a doubt, the culinary highlight was dessert. We ordered the Chef Table dessert, & it was literally that--dessert prepared on the table. They laid down a clean table cloth & the chef came out from the kitchesn & prepared in right on the table cloth--& then we ate it right off the cloth. Amazing & just a blast.
When we got back to our hotel, we urged the concierge to add this restaurant to his list of recommendations, & he immediately made reservations for himself to eat there the next day. When we return to Montreal, Le Speakeasy will be a definite return mean for us! Don't miss it!
