Review Summary

Sora 45 is widely celebrated for its breathtaking panoramic views of Montreal, providing an elegant and memorable atmosphere that makes it a popular destination for both coffee enthusiasts and cocktail lovers. While many patrons praise the creative, high-quality drink menu and the friendly, attentive service, others note that the venue can become quite crowded, sometimes making it difficult to find seating due to individuals working on laptops. The culinary offerings, while generally enjoyed for their quality and unique presentation, are frequently described as having small portion sizes and premium pricing. Although some guests encountered minor service lapses or difficulty navigating the building's elevator system, the majority of visitors find the combination of the stunning scenery, curated music playlists, and overall ambiance to be a unique and worthwhile experience.

Sora 45 is a special place.

The talented people who run it bring to life an intimate, welcoming atmosphere with exceptional service. It was easy to be enthralled by their infectious enthusiasm for their craft, especially since everyone was so generous in sharing their perspectives & recommendations during our time there.

The drinks themselves were incredible - beautifully presented & delicious - several of my new favorite cocktails came from behind the bar. The Honeydew & their version of the New York Sour were among the standouts.

Visiting Sora, you'll undoubtedly leave with a greater appreciation for excellent cocktails & what the best of Montreal has to offer.

I can't wait to come back!

An absolute gem & a must-visit in Montreal!

Sora 45 was recommended to us by a bartender from one of North America's top cocktail bars-her personal favorite spot in the city. That alone speaks volumes about just how special this place is.

From the moment you walk in, you're met with an incredible team that's as welcoming as they are passionate. The drinks? Somehow even better.

If you're looking for an unforgettable cocktail experience in Montreal, Sora 45 is it. Calling it now that this will be in the top 50 cocktail bars in North America before you know it.

I would really say come here only for the vibes & drinks. Although the food they serve are very good, they won't fill you up, so this is definitely more of a bar & finger food type of place. Kinda forgot to take a picture of the ribs we got because it took us a drink & a half for us to get them. It wasn't as expected, it was mostly bone with some meat. Overall, really nice place. Just don't come expecting the food to fill you up with the drinks

Came three weeks ago & absolutely adored the food & views. Carl & André helped curate a great experience for my wife & I at the bar with their cocktails! Only downside was the sun kept shining in my eyes, but Carl gave me sunglasses & I was good to go!

A great restaurant located at Place Ville Marie, with amazing views! The food was okay, not the greatest food, & the cocktails were made good, recommended by a passionate bartender.

This is a pseudo-Japanese restaurant owned & run by some Canadians who might not have even been to Japan, in spite of its name & deco. I did not see a single Asian face on the staff. This probably should tell you how genuine their Japanese food is. The food came with nice decorations in small portions but did not taste Japanese, without even being accompanied by wasabi & soya sauce. When we requested these condiments, the waiter asked for 5$ for a ¼ pea-sized portion of wasabi & another $5 for some ginger. Funny. The restaurant should really be called a bar because most customers (10 or so) there were just having a drink. They were probably working in the building & had a happy hour after work. Only 3-4 tables of guests were dinner guests. 90% of the tables were empty all evening. Some rather loud music was playing; this was annoying, as we just wanted a quiet dinner & to have some conversation. Although, in theory, on the 45th floor above, we should have a nice view of Mont Royal & St. Laurent River, the view was spoiled by construction cranes nearby & by the ugly white roofs of the building next to 1 Place Ville-Marie. It is a total disappointment for us. Those positive reviews were probably written by the owner's friends, by companies doing it for a profit, or even by AI. In all fairness, the service was good, & the waiters were friendly.

Last night was an absolute delight! The warm welcome from the hostesses set the perfect tone. Louis, our server, was incredibly attentive & took such great care of us during the entire night. Our welcome cocktail crafted by Carl was a masterpiece of heart & detail. The bar staff, including Marshall, Alexi, & Dolan, amazed us with their exceptional cocktails. & the pinnacle was Chef Gary & the kitchen staff spoiling us with top-quality sashimi platters, sushi, maki & meat. A huge thank you to everyone involved!
