About

SoLIT Café functions as a dedicated hub for high-quality artisanal pastries and expertly crafted espresso beverages. The interior design emphasizes a minimalist aesthetic that prioritizes functional seating and a neutral color palette suitable for focused work or quiet contemplation. Patrons encounter an extensive selection of flaky croissants, dense chocolate brownies, and layered cakes that demonstrate technical precision in baking. The beverage menu highlights single-origin coffee beans roasted to extract nuanced profiles of acidity and sweetness. Glass display cases showcase rotating seasonal desserts prepared with fresh ingredients and traditional confectionery techniques. This establishment maintains a commitment to efficiency and product consistency through a streamlined service model designed for rapid turnover. Each item reflects a rigorous adherence to core flavor profiles rather than elaborate culinary ornamentation.

Review Summary

SoLIT Café is widely celebrated for its stunning, Instagrammable decor and warm, inviting atmosphere that makes it a popular destination for coffee enthusiasts and social gatherings. Many guests praise the high quality of the food and beverages, specifically highlighting the fresh ingredients, delicious lattes, and artisanal pastries, while frequently commending the friendly and professional staff. Although the overall experience is consistently described as lovely, some visitors have expressed concerns regarding high price points, occasional inconsistencies in beverage preparation, and the volume of the background music, which can sometimes hinder conversation. While the unique design is a significant draw, the service model involving counter ordering and mobile menus receives mixed feedback, though the charming aesthetic and cozy environment ensure that most patrons find it a delightful spot to visit.

Bien dommage.

Perfection in this'go to' central meeting spot! 4 people mentioned this café to me before I first came. Food, drinks & service are sublime. Sunny & orange arbor decor makes it feel like an outdoor terrace (even as it snows outside). The staff helped me choose from the menu & are very welcoming & efficient. In fact, it was so good that I recommended it for a friend's private birthday party. It's now a regular spot for me & my entrepreneur network.

Drinks are very disappointing, what shocked me most is that they don't bring your order to the table & yet minimum tip is 18%....for what service? when clients have to bring their own drink to the table, THERE IS NO SERVICE THEREFORE NO TIP SHOULD BE REQUIRED! Also, music is awfully loud for nothing, no one can talk or hear each othe

Breakfast for two cost us $80CAD (all-in, with tip). We each ordered one dish & the $8CAD salad/fruit+coffee add-on. For this price, I expected a premium experience, but we got an average experience. We found a QR code at our table instead of a physical menu. After reading the menu on our phones (with all the scroll/zoom limitations of a bad mobile menu), we had to get up & order at the counter. The people working the counter were amazing. I rated two stars for service simply because the QR-code menu & counter-ordering meant there wasn't much service (they did bring our food to the table & bussed our table), but the people working here were stellar; we found no fault in them & they were the shining stars of this experience.

The ceiling has an Instagrammable, overcrowded orange-grove motif. Nothing else is as pretty. The tables are a mishmash of round metal/glass & wood. The restaurant isn't well-lit & there's cheap plastic décor thrown about. The round tables have doily-style tablecloths that your grandmother would be proud of--were she a French nun. These are covered with a big, glass disc. When our food arrived, it was placed on this glass, where the ceramic dishes spun freely as I tried to cut my bagel. This was not designed with thought.

The food is good. We didn't think it was amazing & it didn't make up for the experience. It was just good. 4 stars; above average.

I was annoyed because we had spent $80 on QR-code menus & awkward dining. It was at this time that I noticed the wall in the background that is covered with gold-colored, plastic decor & photos of the owner & family & their various awards. & right as I noticed this, the background music stopped & whatever radio service they use started playing ads. It all felt fake & cheap.

I found this to be a very average mall-style experience with a premium price. The food was decent, but I would much rather spend 85% for a 200% better experience a block over at the Pigeon Café (literally, we spent $68 at Pigeon for 2 full breakfast dishes, coffee, table service, & two more coffees to go vs. $80 at So LIT).
