Review Summary

Overall, SoLIT Café comes across as a cozy, design-forward space with orange vine ceilings and a calm, welcoming vibe that makes it feel like an inviting garden oasis, even on cold days. The coffee earns frequent praise for being rich and well made, with lattes, cappuccinos, and seasonal drinks drawing strong notes from guests, while the food is commonly described as fresh, flavorful, and well prepared, with sandwiches, bowls, focaccia, pastries, and light bites cited as standouts. Prices are often described as premium, with some reviewers feeling value doesn't always match the cost, and a few dishes or menu items receive mixed marks. Service is typically described as friendly, attentive, and efficient, with staff guiding guests through the menu and sometimes bringing items to the table, though some readers mention a counter-order flow and a no-laptop policy that can limit work or study. The ambiance, decor, and terrace are repeatedly highlighted as strengths, and many reviews call SoLIT Café a hidden gem and a great place to meet friends or unwind, even if a small number note occasional inconsistencies in menu availability and portions.

My new favourite coffee shop in Montreal! Beautiful atmosphere, good music, friendly service, & delicious drinks… what more could you ask for?

Breakfast for two cost us $80CAD (all-in, with tip). We each ordered one dish & the $8CAD salad/fruit+coffee add-on. For this price, I expected a premium experience, but we got an average experience. We found a QR code at our table instead of a physical menu. After reading the menu on our phones (with all the scroll/zoom limitations of a bad mobile menu), we had to get up & order at the counter. The people working the counter were amazing. I rated two stars for service simply because the QR-code menu & counter-ordering meant there wasn't much service (they did bring our food to the table & bussed our table), but the people working here were stellar; we found no fault in them & they were the shining stars of this experience.

The ceiling has an Instagrammable, overcrowded orange-grove motif. Nothing else is as pretty. The tables are a mishmash of round metal/glass & wood. The restaurant isn't well-lit & there's cheap plastic décor thrown about. The round tables have doily-style tablecloths that your grandmother would be proud of--were she a French nun. These are covered with a big, glass disc. When our food arrived, it was placed on this glass, where the ceramic dishes spun freely as I tried to cut my bagel. This was not designed with thought.

The food is good. We didn't think it was amazing & it didn't make up for the experience. It was just good. 4 stars; above average.

I was annoyed because we had spent $80 on QR-code menus & awkward dining. It was at this time that I noticed the wall in the background that is covered with gold-colored, plastic decor & photos of the owner & family & their various awards. & right as I noticed this, the background music stopped & whatever radio service they use started playing ads. It all felt fake & cheap.

I found this to be a very average mall-style experience with a premium price. The food was decent, but I would much rather spend 85% for a 200% better experience a block over at the Pigeon Café (literally, we spent $68 at Pigeon for 2 full breakfast dishes, coffee, table service, & two more coffees to go vs. $80 at So LIT).

Went there lately hoping for a third wave coffee but turns out it's not, it's some sort of restaurant/coffee shop with overpriced menu. The coffee & pastries are good tasting, but almost 10$ for a regular oat latte, a pumpkin spice latte that tasted artificial & more than 10$ for orange juice makes no sense when compared to other coffee shops in the region that offer same quality coffee. The atmosphere was nice & cozy, staff were kind, but service was slow & the music was loud so it was kinda hard to work there.

Ham & cheese sandwich was disgusting. I got a coffee & sandwich & it came up to $30 which is absurd.

The staff are so friendly & polite. Brought my food to the table, & boxed it up for me to take it home.
I've had a latte, flat white, & pumpkin spice latte. All of them were SOOOO GOOD, especially the pumpkin spice latte that came in a cute mug!!!
However, they say it's a cafe but it's more so a restaurant. Not very many outlets to plug in my ipad/phone. There are « No Laptop » areas. & the music is a little loud so if that's something that bothers you… i wouldn't recommend studying here.
Also, I got a vegetarian rice bowl & was extremely disappointed. It was EXTREMELY dry with very little sauce. For the price point (about $30 after i added chicken), I expected better.
I gotta admit, it's a VERY cute place to go with a friend to grab a coffee, but that's all i would do here unfortunately. I'll be back to get my pumpkin spice latte though!!

The interior is very nicely decorated & feels very cozy. There is also a great terrace outside. I was served in a friendly & polite manner. My carrot cake tasted really good. The coffee was average.

Great Turkish coffee shop with a lot of variety of drinks & food. Very comfortable & relaxing zen place.

The decor inside has a very comforting tone to it - the fresh orange vines decorating the ceiling add to its wonder & feel good vibes.

Friendly staff - nice patio & a great time - A must go to when in montreal.

This place is definitely coffee first & food second. A little pricey but considering the area it checks out. Beautiful atmosphere inside & out, would come here again.
