Superbe petite place familiale & chaleureuse à découvrir près du métro Frontenac. Pour le quartier, ça détonne ! On prendrait plus de ces petits endroits sympathiques qui n'ont pas l'air d'une cafétéria d'usine éclairée au néon blanc pis frette. Ici, C'est clairement la chaleur des Antilles avec une sélection petite, mais efficace de nourriture haïtienne & plein de drink originaux. On y a été pour le souper un soir de semaine & c'était très tranquille. Aucune attente. Personnel cool. On recommande. Seule critique, le prix est un peu élevé par rapport à la grosseur des assiettes, mais j'imagine qu'ils vont ajuster.
Le Shandmas est l'un des coups de coeur de mon copain & moi à Montréal! La nourriture est délicieuse & le service a toujours une touche personnalisée. Dukens est une personne tellement chaleureuse, & il est toujours heureux de nous faire découvrir de nouvelles choses à manger. Le poisson gros sel est un incontournable! Merci à vous & à toute l'équipe pour ces si belles expériences!

I worked 6 years in the Caribbean, I know the culture & food. Shandmas is the REAL deal. A taste & vibe of the Caribbean. Recommend , recommend & that!
The food was genuinely excellent: flavorful & well-prepared. Unfortunately, the bathroom was very dirty during my visit, which really took away from the overall experience. Clean restrooms are an important part of dining out, so I hope this is something the management can address, because the food itself is absolutely worth coming back for.

Apres une journee de pété fyel au travail. J avais envi de quelque chose de reconfortant comme quand tu rentrais de l ecole & tu retrouvais les chaudieres sur le four.

En rentrant le decors m a attiré l attention en attendant ma commande, je me suis perdu dans les souvenirs d enfance avec chaque item surtout le tableau avec le papa & son fils qui fait les devoir & le cahier ti malice.
J ai commandé le paté kodé harend oeuf hot dog pour bien me plonger dans les souvenirs & une assiete de griot & le Mr a eté assez cool pour m offrir mon drink.
Au premier boucher de paté j ai constaté la pate est moeulleux & leger tres agreable j ai meme oublier la garniture dedans jusqu a ce que je mord un bout de hot dog & ensuite l oeuf avec la saveur d harend. Apres 3 boucher j ai eu une boule a gorge je retenais casiment les larmes je m imaginais il y a longtemps devant le marchand de paté en haiti & les bruits des marchands tout est bien balancer pas trop salé juste parfait & le coter pimenté juste assez & pour le plat de griot c etais explosion de saveur le riz goutais vrmt comme quand tu allais faire le gourmand chez la voisine le gout de piment scotch bonnet & clou de girofle subtils etait la ce qui amene encore les souvenirs d apres l cole ou du dimanche apres l eglise viande tendre qui ce mange bien meme le lendemain sans rechauffer & salade macaroni excellent. Le pikliiiizz est comme je l aime comme il est supposé etre avec une touche de orange sure parfait & le plantain bien mince est crispy a moin tu laisse trop fermer dans la boite elle perd sont coter crispy a cause de la chaleur mais excellent au gout.
Je conseil vraiment le paté kode & le riz coller.
J ai sacagé le riz durant le trajet sinon la presentation etait mieu.

Haitian food unfortunately hasn't been in my top 5 favourite cuisines but this place?! Believe me when I say this place is excellent, from the preparation to the decor, which is filled with culture/history. Being of Caribbean heritage the space felt familiar & like home.
I've had the opportunity of tasting a variety of things on the menu, which nothing fell short of good. I occasionally pop in for a pâté kòde herring.
