I tried this restaurant 2 times, 1st time we went into the restaurant, & we ordered biryani, appetizer & a dessert, they messed it up then & mentioned we are approaching the closing so we cannot do much & charged full & we were okay… we gave it the benefit of doubt & the 2nd time we ordered 2 different biryanis, they messed up both our orders with the rice completely soggy & bland, & so this time I'm compelled to say that their service & quality is extremely poor for the amount they are charging, the staff doesn't want to work that's the feeling we as customers have consistently got. & honestly after having tried them with different items that we possibly could, even after specifically calling & giving plain simple instructions they have messed up so very very poor service.
Visited here while traveling for the holiday weekend. Best Indian Restaurant & the quality of the food was amazing. Sukh was my server & she was very kind. Will come back again when in the city
If have an option to opt zero star i would definitely choose that. The service was terrible. Waited almost an hour & didn't get the menu card. Thinking under staffing made that more worse. I won't recommend this restaurant anymore.
Waited almost half an hour to get the seat & I need to find myself menu from other table .Asked the waiter for the menu but they didn't have time for customer service .I left after waiting 45 minutes in this useless store.I never prefer this restaurant to anyone. If I can put zero star I will give.Worst Indian restaurant in Montreal please never visit this restaurant if you are a tourist in Montreal.
If there were an option to give zero stars, I would. Absolutely terrible customer service. We waited around 30-45 minutes, & our table didn't even have the QR code menu. We had to find one ourselves from another table, yet we still received no service. We eventually left without ordering because we were completely ignored. How could I recommend this restaurant to anyone ?
This restaurant doesn't deserve 5 stars,Not even a single star. We were sitting there for 45 mins to get seated. Waiter doesn't even try to get us in even though some of the people you came after got seated even though they didn't have any reservations.
Atlast we got seated only when we went inside & ask for it. Then again the waiting game started again. We sat there for 30 mins , we didn't receive any menu, glass, not even water. Waiter didn't even notice us even we were sitting right infront of him. They were trying to get more people in when people who were already seated has not even got glasses for their water.
The restaurant is heavily understaffed. At point we thought of going to them to let them know how we feel, but they were trying hard to manage everything. This is all own the management who ever it is. They should know better how to run a highly rated restaurant. At this point, I can imagine by the next time we come to Montreal, this restaurant will be rated less than 3 star.
When Shaaz first opened, the food & service were outstanding, which is why we kept coming back. Unfortunately, today's experience was very disappointing.
The restaurant was clearly understaffed. Despite it being a busy evening, there was only one server handling everything-taking orders, serving food, answering phone calls, & attending all the tables. He was trying his best, but one person simply can't manage it all.
The food quality has also gone downhill. The Paneer Methi Chaman, which used to have a rich & creamy gravy, was watery this time. The Mushroom 65 was served cold, soggy, & lacked the crispiness it's supposed to have.
We hope the management addresses these issues & brings back the quality that made Shaaz one of our favorite Indian restaurants.
