Finally they ask half the table if we wanted dessert.
Guy, if you want to experience Indian food in Montreal you have to visit this place. Their Indo-Chinese is amazing & their mandi is great! Try their dragon chicken if you like spicy food!! Good food good service. Will visit again for sure!
We arrived at 9:30 PM & were informed that we would need to wait. At that time, we were unaware that the estimated waiting period would be approximately one hour. However, it became evident that there was ample space available on the upper level. After 10:30 PM, the upstairs area was opened, allowing all patrons to enter. The initial one-hour wait for entry seemed unreasonable given the circumstances.
Once we were seated, it took an additional 15 minutes for our orders to be taken. I inquired as to why the upstairs was not opened sooner, to which they responded that only two staff members were available, despite the presence of numerous employees. When I requested water, I was informed that my colleague was filling it & would bring it shortly. After another 15 minutes without water, it was finally provided.
Upon receiving our food, one of the dishes was contaminated. I brought this to their attention, & they suggested I order something else. I insisted on receiving a replacement for the dish I had originally ordered. They assured me that there would be no additional charge for the new dish. However, when the bill arrived, I noticed that I was charged for the contaminated dish, while the replacement, which was not to my liking, was not charged.
Throughout this experience, I sensed a lack of supervision or management oversight. Given the significant investment made in the establishment, it would be prudent to have a designated individual to oversee operations & guide the staff. Additionally, many of the dishes were excessively spicy & oily. I tried the Mandi Alfahm, which did not resemble the traditional Arabic recipe. Furthermore, the prices were considerably higher compared to Indian restaurants in Montreal.
They made alterations to a well-known portrait, which are not favorable.
Loved the appetizers. Had almost all the spicy appetizers & enjoyed them all. Gongura chicken curry with garlic Naan was excellent.
Alot of choices in the menu! Tried the Mango Magic drink, would have been nicer if it were colder. Otherwise shared 3 dishes, one chicken curry, one mutton bryani & a cheese paneer, all pretty tasty & a bit spicy! We added garlic naan bread which was good.
Food is flavorful & spicy! Mutton & curry with naan were the most delicious dish
Amazing service, they kept coming back to ask us if we needed anything, the decorations & lighting weren't overwhelming yet looked amazing. The food was excellent, especially if you have a spicy tooth.
The place was out of palak, saag, lassi & many other ingredients. The food was extremely spicy & we all had an upset stomach after the lunch.
Wonderful day after visiting Shaaz for my mother's birthday 🎉 she loved it all even the spicy dishes. The butter chicken was phenomenal with buttered up nuun bread. Sensational!❤️💙
I was missing Indian street style food since few days. Thought of trying something spicy & ordered spicy burnt garlic noodles & dragon gobi. Vah! What a great satisfying meal it was! It was some of the best tasting Indian food I have had lately in Montreal. Kudos to their head chef & other staff.
