Staff seemed uninterested. Dumplings didn't taste like much but general tao was decent, nothing special. Ambiance was nice. Not worth the price.View more
Friday evening between 4 & 5 pm, there is practically no one. The ambiance was pretty fun. Cool music playing, lights are dimmed. It's really cozy. I went with my 12 year old daughter. She really enjoyed it. We only took appetizers, & it was plenty for us. The dumplings tasting platter is so delicious. The calmar & the tempura shrimp were really good, too. Rania was an amazing waitress. She was really attentive & very helpful.View more
On our transit to Quebec City, we stopped by here in Montreal as we were craving Asian food. Happy we chose this spot with lots of seatings available. Very friendly & fast service. We had the shrimp Tom Yum soup which was very good! The shrimp steamed dumplings were great, making it a two in two for our visit. The final item was the sautéed teriyaki shrimp wok which my wife really enjoyed. Finally had a mocktail called Chinese Medicine, which was strawberry, lemon & kombucha hibiscus, which was hit too. Thanks!View more
I came here in December & gave 5 stars. Everything was great. I went yesterday with a friend & it just wasn't the same. I ordered the veggie dumplings & they were very lacking in filling unlike the last time. The soup was also very lacking in vegetables. The service that had been super attentive last time, just didn't seem to be there. We had to ask many times for water & for hot water for the Jasmin tea after we'd already asked. It was all just a bit vague. We did have a lovely chat with a young waitress who seemed to have come in for the afternoon service & she was very pleasant so thank you but it's sad that this time it really was :-( & in December it was a big :-) I know there can be off days but it seemed as though every thing was off yesterday.View more
Excellent food. Pork & kimchi dumplings were delicious, as were wonton soup & peanut stir fry. Service was very friendly, although a bit slow. Outdoor seating was comfortable.View more
Food is overpriced & just not that great. The only thing we liked was the salmon tartare that was really good but everything else is subpar for the price you pay. The fried calamari was not super well cooked & the batter was not crispy at all The wonton soup was a bit too salty The dumpling skin was really thick The general Tao was wayyy too sweet & the peanut butter chicken wok was also extremely sweet. The service was good.View more
Now open on Monday The 5 to 7 offer are great for small bites Tried the bloody sesame cocktail, it came with a chicken bite & a prawn chips. Perfect appetiser ! The dumpling were good as well as the small thai soup, tangy & sweet. The salmon poke was spicy & generous with salmon (especially for the 5-7 price) The pad Thai was vibrant & full of flavours. You can trust sesame restaurant for the quality of their food !View more
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sesame, a restaurant in Montreal, & I must say, it was a truly remarkable experience. After a frustrating night of searching for a wheelchair-accessible restaurant, we stumbled upon Sesame, & it turned out to be a hidden gem.
From the moment we entered, our server, Suf, greeted us with a warm smile & genuine kindness. Suf went above & beyond to ensure that we were accommodated & made us feel welcome. Her attentiveness & willingness to assist us in every way possible truly made our dining experience exceptional. Although accessibility is limited (more about this at the end) Suf worked with us to find a way for me to enjoy the restaurant.
Now, let's talk about the food. Sesame offers a menu with a modern twist on various cuisines, & the flavors were absolutely phenomenal. I opted for the General Tao's Poultry, & it was a delightful explosion of flavors. The chicken was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside & tender on the inside, coated in a tangy & savory sauce that left me craving for more.
My wife decided to try the Tao Poke, & she was blown away by the freshness & quality of the ingredients. The combination of chicken, vegetables, & the unique sauce created a harmonious blend of flavors that was both refreshing & satisfying.
As for my son, he ordered the Pad Thai, a classic dish that Sesame executed flawlessly. The balance of sweet, sour, & savory flavors in the dish was spot on, & the generous portion of noodles & perfectly cooked shrimp made it a truly enjoyable experience.
To complement our meal, we also indulged in some dumplings, which were simply divine. The delicate dumpling wrappers were filled with a flavorful mixture, & each bite was a burst of deliciousness.
What truly made our experience at Sesame exceptional was the outstanding service provided by Suf. Her attentiveness, kindness, & willingness to go the extra mile made us feel valued as customers. Suf's exceptional service truly enhanced our dining experience & left a lasting impression.
In conclusion, Sesame is not only a restaurant with incredible food & modern twists on classic dishes, but it is also a place where exceptional service & genuine hospitality shine. If you're looking for a memorable dining experience in Montreal, I highly recommend visiting Sesame & experiencing their phenomenal cuisine & the warm hospitality of their staff, especially Suf.

Great food & cocktails, interesting look. Maybe a bit loud but it was a Saturday. Definitely a good choice for poké, dumplings :)
Was excited but the service was just awful. Not impressed from start to finish. I have been working in the industry for 7 years & often give benefit of the doubt but this was something else. Food was average. Pretty sure the server forgot to punch in our mains as it took over 30 minutes for it to come out. We were there for over two hours. The last twenty we were actually eating our mains. I appreciate it gets busy but team work is needed in these times. Food was average. I will say the Hunan dumplings were good should you decide to go here.
Accueil chaleureux & courtois.
