Les portions sont généreuses et le service est globalement attentif et efficace, avec une atmosphère conviviale qui convient aussi bien aux repas entre amis qu'aux soirées en amoureux. Le cadre est sobrement élégant et la musique crée une ambiance détendue sans être trop bruyante, même lors des heures d'affluence. Les cocktails et les boissons complètent parfaitement le repas et certains plats se distinguent par leur finesse et leur pertinence culinaire. En somme, Sésame offre une expérience gourmande et agréable, avec un service cordial et une atmosphère qui donne envie de revenir.
Super repas chez Sésame samedi dernier ! Le Général Tao était parfaitement croustillant avec une sauce bien équilibrée, & le poké au saumon était d'une fraîcheur irréprochable. Portions généreuses & saveurs au rendez-vous. Une valeur sûre, je recommande !
Sesame
It took a while to seat us even though the restaurant wasn't busy. The hostess & waitress were just standing far away, & there weren't many people at all.
The seating we got was not ideal, right in the middle, on chairs with no backs, directly under a bright light. The ambience would have been better if the lights were dimmer, though the décor itself was nice.
Our waitress ignored us. When one of my friends asked for cups, she brushed it off. When we asked again, she acted rude, dismissive, & made it seem like a chore to get them. We had to ask twice before they finally brought us cups.
We waited quite a while to order. By the time someone came, we already knew what we wanted, so we ordered drinks, appetizers, & mains all together. Water came in just 2 glass bottles, & they never once brought more, even though there were 6 of us.
The service overall was just not good. We felt ignored the entire time. They didn't check in once or ask how the meal was, even though there were barely any tables to serve.
Food:
General Tao rice - Solid 7.5. It had furikake on top & was good, but the chicken tasted more like sweet & sour than General Tao. The veggies were boring-lots of peppers, cabbage, onion, a couple pieces of celery, & only one piece of zucchini. I really wish it had some broccoli.
Chicken Pad Thai - 7.2. Spicy & tasty, but the heat kind of overpowered the other flavors. Not really impressive.
Shrimp Pad Thai - 8. Best flavor out of everything we tried. It was spicy in a good way, but the noodles were slimy & too short, almost like they'd been cut. Vegetables were boring here too. The shrimp, though, was good & not fishy.
Teriyaki - 5. Really disappointing. Almost flavorless, but somehow still had a weird off-taste.
Salmon poke - 6.6. Decent but average. It lacked sauce, & the edamame was a little hard. I've had way better poke bowls at Poke Station.
Fried wontons - 8. Tasty, crunchy, nice sauce. The filling tasted like Costco wontons, but still good overall.
Edamame - 9. Hard to mess up edamame, & they were salty & delicious.
Drinks:
Passion fruit mojito - 7. Good, refreshing, but didn't have enough passion fruit flavor.
Hibiscus litchi (no egg white) - 2. This was terrible. I asked for no egg whites, & they gave me egg whites anyway. The two sips I had tasted like absolutely nothing. If I had an allergy, this could've been dangerous. Just a bad drink.
Margarita appeal - 4.7. Tasted like straight alcohol, with no flavor behind it.
Negroni - 7.5. Fresh, gingery, & enjoyable.
Passionfruit Tropic - 9. Amazing, full passionfruit flavor, delicious. This is the only thing I'd truly recommend from here.
Other notes:
Appetizers came out before our drinks, which usually isn't a good sign.
I specifically said no egg whites in my drink , & they still gave me egg whites.
No one checked on us during the meal.
They refused to give us a table, claiming it was reserved for 10 people but no one ever came to it.
They didn't ask how we wanted to split the bill.
We had to ask twice just to get the bill.
Only positive: when they messed up my drink with the egg whites, the waitress offered me another drink & only charged me for the cheaper one.
All in all, very mid restaurant. I wouldn't go back. I've heard this location is average compared to others, so maybe that's the issue, but overall I was underwhelmed & disappointed.
We liked the vibe of the restaurant but an open window allowed a bee in to disturb our meal hence only 4star for atmosphere. We were initially seated & had our order take. by an enthusiastic server but food was served by a female server who forgot our requested spoons. Before finishing our food, she asked us to pay the bill though she explained coz she finished her shift but we didnt have to go. I didnt like being interrupted.
As for food, we ordered the tom yum & poke bowl. Being Malaysian i think we expected too much from the tom yum which lacks flavor but the poke bowl was good. Our complimentary spring roll was also tasty. Still unsure if we will return though
Really nice place, with a warm ambiance, lovely staff & delicious food.
We had the tasting platter from the small dishes to share & for mains we had the Spicy Mayonnaise Bao & the Salmon/tuna poke bowl. Definitely worth the visit & in a nice neighbourhood!
Loud atmosphere. Great service. La nourriture est très bon. I recommend le wontons aux archaides, saveur est fantastique. Pad sew est bon. Poutine had a tangy flavour (would not recommend). Poke est comme ci comme ça. Bao est bon, avec des frites. Calamari is a must-have. Overall, great restaurant for Asian fusion.
Le service ici est vraiment impeccable. Notre serveur, un jeune homme aux cheveux courts, était très attentif & poli. Nous avons commandé le poulet au beurre & un bol poké, & c'était délicieux. De plus, les portions étaient très généreuses. Merci beaucoup !
J'ai pris le poké bowl Tao, ce n'est pas écrit, mais cela vient avec vraiment beaucoup de gingembre, c'est cool quand t'aime ça, mais pour ma part, je déteste ça... il n'y avait pas d'avocat ni de melon comme indiqué sur le menu... c'était vraiment pas top...
It had been six years since I ventured into Sesame to order (on site) a poke bowl. Having arrived early to avoid the lunch crowd, the waitress took my order & payment only to send me to the waiting area where I waited for over 20 minutes for my order. When I approached a waiter to find out where my order was, he was dismissive & rude. Another lady ordered before me also was waiting. The someone else came in to order & she received her order right away! Another waitress completely ignored us. They finally brought my order, but the woman who orders before me was still waiting! This is not the same Sesame I went to six years ago, & I will never go back there! Horrible service indeed, high prices & the poke bowl was meh.

Went for lunch here & it was amazing! Shared a general tao & a salmon/tuna poke bowl with my friend- the ingredients were all so fresh & it was really tasty! The portions are quite good sizes as well! The general tap came with really good sautéed veggies
Big fan of Sesame in Boucherville. This was my first time at their StJacques location. It did not disappoint. It's a beautiful restaurant with plenty of seatings but with very decent space between tables which I loved. The food was so fresh & tasty ! Took the tuna/salmon poke & the cheesecake. My 3 yo so had the mini tao poutine, he couldn't get enough despite the light spicy taste, it was just amazing. Service was A1. 10/10 recommend.

Now open on Monday The 5 to 7 offer are great for small bites Tried the bloody sesame cocktail, it came with a chicken bite & a prawn chips. Perfect appetiser ! The dumpling were good as well as the small thai soup, tangy & sweet. The salmon poke was spicy & generous with salmon (especially for the 5-7 price) The pad Thai was vibrant & full of flavours. You can trust sesame restaurant for the quality of their food !
Nice restaurant to go to as a big group. The salmon tuna poke bowl tasted good & the happy hour drinks are a must. Not very authentic Asian food, better for those looking for fusion & american style dishes.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sesame, a restaurant in Montreal, & I must say, it was a truly remarkable experience. After a frustrating night of searching for a wheelchair-accessible restaurant, we stumbled upon Sesame, & it turned out to be a hidden gem.
From the moment we entered, our server, Suf, greeted us with a warm smile & genuine kindness. Suf went above & beyond to ensure that we were accommodated & made us feel welcome. Her attentiveness & willingness to assist us in every way possible truly made our dining experience exceptional. Although accessibility is limited (more about this at the end) Suf worked with us to find a way for me to enjoy the restaurant.
Now, let's talk about the food. Sesame offers a menu with a modern twist on various cuisines, & the flavors were absolutely phenomenal. I opted for the General Tao's Poultry, & it was a delightful explosion of flavors. The chicken was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside & tender on the inside, coated in a tangy & savory sauce that left me craving for more.
My wife decided to try the Tao Poke, & she was blown away by the freshness & quality of the ingredients. The combination of chicken, vegetables, & the unique sauce created a harmonious blend of flavors that was both refreshing & satisfying.
As for my son, he ordered the Pad Thai, a classic dish that Sesame executed flawlessly. The balance of sweet, sour, & savory flavors in the dish was spot on, & the generous portion of noodles & perfectly cooked shrimp made it a truly enjoyable experience.
To complement our meal, we also indulged in some dumplings, which were simply divine. The delicate dumpling wrappers were filled with a flavorful mixture, & each bite was a burst of deliciousness.
What truly made our experience at Sesame exceptional was the outstanding service provided by Suf. Her attentiveness, kindness, & willingness to go the extra mile made us feel valued as customers. Suf's exceptional service truly enhanced our dining experience & left a lasting impression.
In conclusion, Sesame is not only a restaurant with incredible food & modern twists on classic dishes, but it is also a place where exceptional service & genuine hospitality shine. If you're looking for a memorable dining experience in Montreal, I highly recommend visiting Sesame & experiencing their phenomenal cuisine & the warm hospitality of their staff, especially Suf.
On ne peut pas leur faire confiance avec les options vegan, ni même végétariennes. On a retrouvé du poulet dans le tofu au beurre, & des chips de crevettes dans le poké au tofu. Inacceptable. J'ai mis 3 étoiles pour que le commentaire soit public & que les gens puissent être avertis que les restrictions alimentaires ne sont pas respectées dans cet établissement, mais en réalité j'aurais voulu mettre 1 étoile.
