Review Summary

Second Cup Café receives mixed feedback, with many customers praising the warm, cozy atmosphere and friendly staff who contribute to a welcoming environment for studying, working, or relaxing. While the quality of the coffee and specialty drinks is frequently highlighted as a positive aspect of the experience, the integration of a food counter within the space has led to concerns regarding conflicting food odors and a limited menu selection. Consistent issues noted in the reviews include reports of long wait times during busy periods due to understaffing, concerns regarding washroom maintenance, and occasional dissatisfaction with specific drink preparations or menu options. Overall, the location is valued for its central location and inviting interior design, though experiences can fluctuate depending on staffing levels and shared service arrangements.

My husband & I stopped in last Saturday afternoon after a long morning of wandering Old Montreal, & Second Cup was exactly the rest we needed. The barista was so warm & patient while we debated between the lattes & the chai, & she even suggested the maple scone which turned out to be absolutely delicious. The cozy window seats gave us a perfect spot to people-watch while we rested our feet, & the whole place had a relaxed, unhurried vibe that you don't always find in busy city cafes. We will definitely pop back in next time we visit Montreal - a lovely little stop.

We visited yesterday after a cold long walk, the atmosphère was so warm & the cashier was super welcoming & friendly. They were so busy due to the protest running outside but the service was super good. We got cappuccino & americano. Definitely going to visit more often.

The cafe & the coffee itself are not bad, the service however isn't ideal. There was a cashier who was significantly rude. Maybe she was under pressure, this being a busy location, but she was quite uncivil.

We got lucky & were able to sit right up front so we got to enjoy our coffee & snack while watching people walk by.
This is a very busy corner, it was nice to slow down & warm up for a while!
This Second Cup is huge, there were many people either on their computers or just reading a book.
The noise level was very low for such a busy & large coffee shop.
Coffee is always good at this chain!
Their baked goods were super fresh & well priced.

I've been here a few times in the past couple of months & each time I placed a mobile order & each time I've had to wait & wait & wait - & it wasn't busy. They clearly have an issue with mobile orders, because everyone who walked in AFTER I placed my order & was already waiting for 5-7 minutes was able to order & get their drink before me. Definitely will not give this location another chance.
