Born in may 2007, Santos is the quintessential old Montreal tapas bar experience. Open from tuesday to saturday, it specializes in traditional Spanish food and offers a large an original selection of spirits, cocktails, wines, sangrias and mojitos. Live DJs every night and many special events. Santos is ideal for your 5 to 7s, late night dinners, corporate bookings and live musical events.
ORIGINS OF SANTOS
All the streets in Old Montreal are named after saints. Located on the corner of Saint Paul and Saint François Xavier and given that the food served is Spanish, it was only natural to name place "Saints" in Spanish.

Always packed! Been there a couple of times & the djays are usually really good & read the room well. Only criticism would be the weird layout of tables in the middle of the club, it always leads to tension & people pushing each other. Just put them upstairs & leave the dance floor clear for us to dance My place of choice if I want to have a good time I recommend it !!View more

The attitudes of the waitresses completely kill the vibe. One in particular was dismissive & condescending towards my dad & he did nothing to warrant such treatment. The attitude of that waitress through the entire experience was so unbelievable it was funny. After having waited for 6 oysters to arrive for at least 45 minutes & having finished our drinks, we decided to just leave. The manager was really sweet though. He apologised & gave us a discount which we appreciated. It's not the end of the world but I just wouldn't recommend going here.View more

The service here was disappointing. The waitress seemed upset about having a table of 19 & was consistently rude when responding to questions, behaving as if she owned the place. The food was mediocre, & the group service was awful. Given the price, I would recommend Escondite Drummond or Union instead, if you are looking for great drinks, food & service. However, the music was fantastic, & that's the main reason I would consider returning.View more

We've been on a Saturday night (girls night out) - only for the club. The music the ppl the ambiance is super nice ! I do suggest to come either early like 10-10:30 pm or.. 1 am.. otherwise a lot of ppl .. the restaurant / lounge is not that big, so the capacity can be reach out pretty quickly I do recommend to go there to dance ☺️ - very nice bouncersView more

I cant recommend a non ethical place. So I went there last night & I cant recommends this group. I had a reservation for 7 & when my friends & I got to the door it's only at that time bouncers tells us a bottle is mandatory (like wow) & he knows it's cold outside it's not easy to change ideas. My problem is that this should have been mentioned with every reservation then, it shouldn't be a surprise & it looks more like a non ethical trick used by owners or managers.
