Positive: The spicy pork dumplings are like little flavor bombs! Yum! Negative: The plastic side plates. Give me a decent ceramic dinner plate please & thank you.
We got there 20 mins before closing & they quality did not suffer from it. We ordered the sweet pork soup dumplings & they were divine. Addictively sweet & savory that matched wonderfully with the home made chilli oil & the black vinegar. Honestly, I will dream of those dumplings. The best I've had in a long time & way better than those in mtl China Town. 10/10 will go again for sure.
A very nice cozy place with a great staff that's always on their feet 😇😇 We started with shrimp wonton soup & absolutely loved it ❤?❤? We then moved onto lamb & coriander dumplings along with pork, shrimp, & scallop dumplings & each bite was incredible ❤?❤? Our full compliments to the chef for the gourmet's delight 🙏🙏 Highly recommend this 11/10 dumpling place to anyone residing in the West Island as it's just a perfect venue to relax with family, friends with the best service 😍😍

Sammi Soup Dumpling in Montreal's West Island is one of those spots that quietly earns a loyal followingand after trying their dumplings, it's easy to see why. @sammi_soupe_dumpling
Lamb soup dumplings
These were the standout. The wrappers are delicate but sturdy, holding a rich, deeply savory broth that doesn't skimp on flavor. The lamb filling is juicy & well-seasoned, with none of that gamey edge that can sometimes overpower. Each bite feels comforting & indulgent, especially when dipped lightly in black vinegar with a touch of ginger.
Pork & Shrimp soup dumplings
A classic done right. The pork is tender & flavorful, while the shrimp adds a subtle sweetness & bounce that keeps things interesting. The soup inside is clean, aromatic, & perfectly balanced not greasy, not bland. These are the kind of xiao long bao you keep reaching for without even realizing you've finished the basket.
Chicken fried dumplings
Crispy on the bottom, soft & chewy on top exactly how fried dumplings should be. The chicken filling is juicy & mildly seasoned, letting the texture & freshness shine. They're comforting, unfussy, & incredibly satisfying, especially paired with their dipping sauce.
Overall, Sammi Soup Dumpling delivers consistently well-executed dumplings with great texture, flavor, & care. Whether you're a soup dumpling purist or just craving something warm & satisfying, this place is absolutely worth a visit if you're in the West Island.
Got take out, didn't like the taste at all. It was my first time ordering from this location. Poorly made & the pork had a sour taste to it… normally i love sammi soup but i will avoid this location.
We have been coming here since it opened & always loved the original pork soup dumplings. We usually order 3-4 order everytime. However the most recent visit on a Saturday lunch, we were served with soggy soup dumplings with wrappers that were stuck to the steamer & all of the soup falling out, they were not the usual fresh ones & have clearly been frozen hence the soggy & disgusting texture. I do not plan on going back unfortunately.
Love the variety of soup dumplings here. The dumpling skin is nice & tender & the soup & filling very flavourful. I also love the wontons with the peanut sauce.
I usually order the sweet pork & spicy pork soup dumplings, & the wontons. & then a couple of new flavours of dumplings to try.
I would recommend the soupe dumplings . I tried the juicy pork. Also tried the fried beef dumplings. On my revisit I ordered chicken & shrimp dumplings , to my surprise there was no soup inside the dumplings this time . A mystery I will look to solve on my next visit , I recommend the dumplings which have soup inside them so make sure you order the rights ones
I was so excited to try Sammi & Soupe Dumpling since it was so hyped up. Honestly, It was decent but not as good as the reviews make it out to be. We ordered the pork peanut butter dumplings (best dish we had! Hot & perfect amount of sauce. Not too sweet), pork & coriander Xiao Long Bao (good, however the dough on top was too hard & as it cooled, it just kept getting harder) pork&chive fried dumplings (they tasted good) & the shrimp pizza dumpling (absolutely terrible! Mustard on dumplings? Especially on shrimp dumplings?). That last one totally threw us off & tasted weird. I wish they would've put that in the description, as we wouldn't have ordered it. We paid $27 each & while the price is not terrible, the dumplings aren't very big, I would happily go downtown to eat dumplings at a more authentic restaurant & better bang for our $. Give it a try & you be the judge!
