Best spot to grab some soup dumplings come before rush hour tho cause sometimes theres a short line i usually get pork & chives pork & coriander soup dumpling & a shrimp wontons if im feeling more hungry for me & my girl is perfect !
Shrimp & coriander soup dumplings, didn't try anything else, it was fantastic, I love the flavor of the soup, their chili is fantastic. Coriander compliments the shrimp perfectly!
I ordered the shrimp soup dumplings & was disappointed with the shrimp dumpling because there was no soup in them. It was very dry actually & no pieces of shrimp only a shrimp paste . The. Pastry looked perfect but when I bit into them they were dry & thick. I expect a place that specializes in soup dumplings to have exquisite dumpling pastry. When one orders soup dumplings one expects a huge squirt of soup broth which is the whole point of these morsels. I have had them in New York & also in Taiwan & Vietnamese & these did not meet any minimal level of expectation. I noticed a lady beside me ordered soup dumpling s & a side of broth which would have probably saved my meal but this should not be necessary. The table on the other side of me ordered the fried dumplings & they looked good I admit.
The place was busy & turnover very quick. Service was very quick & polite. The decor is average & was clean so I'll give it that. But I was soooo looking forward to yummy soup dumplings in Montreal & this was a fail.
Wow! Sammi & Soupe Dumpling is a hidden gem in Montreal's Chinatown. The dumplings are handmade & absolutely delicious - juicy, flavorful, & perfectly cooked. 🥢 I especially recommend the pork & shrimp soup dumplings - they burst with flavor & warmth.
The ambiance is casual but cozy, & service is quick even when it's busy (which it usually is - & for good reason). Definitely a must-try spot if you love authentic dumplings & Asian comfort food. 🍜
Tip: go early or be ready to wait - it's worth it.
Tasty, friendly, but how they handle with the order they misheard could have been better. We told them we still like the wrong dumplings that came out, out of courtesy, saying were willing to pay for them, so we just want to correct the final payment, as the one came out was cheaper than what we ordered. First they said the dumplings were the right one, it just doesn't look like it... which we ordered shrimps but came out to be pork. However, it looked like a way too much of pork. They took a photo, & we took a photo, before they took the dumplings away. They then told us they want to give shrimps for free, we said we're full, & we just want to bill to be corrected to pork, instead of shrimps. Then they came to us again that we don't have to pay for the wrong one- at this point we just wanted to leave since we finished eating, so told them okay. Then they came to us again, the order we made at the beginning says that we ordered pork. Which means, the server got the wrong order. & they told us to pay for it, in a way that as if we lied, or we were confused. Well, if we're confused, I don't think we would have asked to correct the bill, or never asking for the correct one, & we never order the same pork twice, but anyways we paid all & the full tips. Also, we didn't get the dumpling back they took away. It could have been nice if they gave us a single sentence of apology for receiving the order incorrectly, instead of "it says you ordered pork dumplings". Until before than, it was great. Hopefully next time I'll get the one I ordered!

Great service & we were seated fast as big group with no reservation. Delicious soup dumplings & there were a good amount in each portion. Shrimp pork & scallop dumplings were excellent. The peanut butter pork dumplings were also great. So many options & looking forward to coming again.
If you like dumplings served 20 different ways this is the place to go. 4 of us tried the soup - pork, shrimp & scallop dumplings, soup - chicken & mushroom dumplings, pan fried - pork & Chinese cabbage dumplings, pan fried - pork $ chive dumplings All dishes were around $15. Fresh handmade dumplings cooked to order. Very tasty & came with chilli sauce, soya & vinegar sauce for dipping. Super filling. The restaurant is in the heart of Montreal Chinatown & is very busy & crowded but the service is quick & tables turn over fast. A definite must try for dumpling lovers.
I ordered pork & coriander, beef & curry, & shrimp & coriander. Turns out shrimp & coriander isn't just shrimp & coriander, there's pork in them! I ordered this for a small dinner party & one of my friends can't eat pork. Please write out clearly the exact ingredients for each dish. Please! Other than that the food tastes good.

Some of the best soup dumpling we had. My friend ordered the chicken dumpling & I ordered the Shrimp/cabbage pan friend dumplings. We both really enjoyed the food.
It was good but not great. We ordered 5 different dumplings number 12, 15, 19, 24,25 & spicy & sour cucumbers. I really liked the dumplings number 25 - Beef & Curry. To my taste fried dumplings are tastier, but steamed dumplings are also good & have a delicate, thin dough. I wanted shrimp dumplings so badly, but I was not lucky - Xioa Long Bao shrimp & coriander at number 19 was completely flavorless shrimp. The waiters took to the kitchen to check & it turned out that everything was right - we were served dumplings with shrimps. But it should be noted that for this trouble they brought us Seaweed salad. I liked that. The cucumbers were nothing special to me. but my husband loved it. The prices are great. We waited in line at the door for 25 minutes on Saturday.
4.5/5: Fried dumplings come out a bit faster than steamed, though it comes to personal preference, I'd still say traditional steamed dumplings are better. Pork classic is good. Pork, shrimp, scallops is also decent- not minced, can distinguish the ingredients inside. Fried dumplings are drier & sometimes the bottom has greasy bits/burnt. 2 orders seem to be the right amount for a hungry person.
We came here for lunch on a Sunday & it was packed. We waited a bit before getting seated & we ordered three dishes: two Xiao Long Baos (the Shrimp & Coriander, & the Chicken & Mushroom) & one pan fried dumplings (the Shrimp & Cabbage). The food was super delicious. Our favourite is the Shrimp & Coriander Xiao Long Bao for its refreshing flavour. Nice & brightly lit restaurant with clean washrooms. Will definitely return in the future.
First time here, but have been a regular at the Ste-Catherine location for years. First eating soup dumplings for my parents though, so I wanted it to be great & it delivered. Service could have been a tad more considerate, but it's not to be expected. Soup dumplings were very well made, plenty of broth inside, rarely broke apart. The shrimp ones felt especially plump & generous. Fried ones were also excellent, with a good crust, & did not open during cooking. The place is also nicer than the Ste-Catherine one, which is a different vibe but not bad.
