I brought my niece & we enjoyed afternoon tea thoroughly. The tea cart gave lots of different teas to try. The decor is so quaint. We were attended to by very friendly staff. It's my 3rd time there & would go again. My only negative comment would be that the portion of clotted cream & jam is too small for 4 scones. We needed more. All in all, a great place.
I love everything about this salon, the ambiance is calm, the food & the service are wonderful. The friendly owner even came to talk with us. I recommend this salon & I will be going back.
My first time doing high tea, & this place didn't disappoint.
Fits in with Pointe Claire Village's vibe, cozy & homey atmosphere.
Food was good, while doesn't look like a lot, combined with their extensive tea selection, & flavourful homemade sandwiches & homemade biscuits, it's sure to fill you while not making you too full for dinner. The desserts too did not disappoint.
Highly recommended spot in the WI for High End'High Tea'
We (1 adult, 9 yr old, 4 yr old) came here instead of other places in order to support a small business. I hope this review is seen as constructive criticism that might support this small business to consider making changes.
Service was completely lacking. There were 2 other customers & they finished & left, so our server/owner wasn't busy with other tables. Instead, she was in the back almost the whole time. She only came out a few times to chastise my girls for EVERYTHING they did.'Oh the chairs are fragile.' (Btw, those chairs dont look fragile or antique, or like anything you'd find in a tearoom). .'Oh the table can fall.''Oh please don't play with the stuffed animals' that are put on a chair in plain view in the center of the room. REALLY? Please consider getting furniture & decor that's more sturdy, safe & appropriate so you can focus on being attentive to customers rather than property. Or just ban kids from coming, as some cafes do, & we will know to go elsewhere.
The food was overqualified & also missing the mark. It was tasty but not memorable. For the kids, why load up cucumber sandwiches with chives & egg sandwiches with raw onions? If the food is all homemade, then tweaking the recipes for kids should not be a problem. The hot chocolate (also homemade) would be much more kid-friendly if there was more milk (we kept adding, I am not sure there was any in it to start) & less cocoa.
As for the adult experience, the Assam tea tasted flat & weak. The Earl Grey roibus would have been just as well a black tea. I didn't try the green since I expected it to be similar in strength to the black. The milk was not warmed, as they do in Europe. (I only expect warmed milk when a place markets itself as fancy, btw). I kept getting up myself to the unattended tea cart beside us to get what we needed, since our server seldom was around. The food was good, but portions were on the small side for price, & descriptions on the website were misleading. For example, of the 3 desserts, one was a cookie the size of a loonie. I tried to break it in half to share, but it was too small. Maybe consider outsourcing some of your food offerings (ie to the local bakery that can make it jusy as tasty or better) so that you can offer more while still making a profit. Then, if we would like to purchase additional cookies since they are the only things our kid would eat, as in my case, you could offer us that option.
Finally the ambiance / atmosphere was OK, but spotty with a couple dainty couches & displays here & there, but for the most part, ordinary furniture & not enough to give that feel of a high tea experience.
I won't come back. Not because I dropped a cent on just a few sandwiches & cookies, but because of how the server/owner treated us.
We had an absolutely wonderful experience for high tea today! The service & atmosphere were fantastic & the food was amazing. We will definitely be back!!
I've been coming here since they opened. I love how their menu changes every month & that they always try to keep the concept fresh - never a copy/paste experience every time you visit. The staff is always super attentive. The overall vibe is very lovely.
Belle expérience. Un beau moment pour partager entre amis ou en famille.
