Amazing Moroccan food with great Moroccan ambiance & the service was excellent

We had dinner nearby & decided to stop in for dessert. After we ordered, the waiter served us & then said,'Next time, don't come here just for dessert - we don't allow that,' in front of other guests. It was embarrassing & came across as disrespectful. If this is a policy, it should be clearly communicated beforehand, as there was no mention of it on the website or menu.

L'expérience au Mogador était incroyable. Le service était également impeccable : notre serveur & le patron étaient très attentifs & professionnels. Ils se sont assurés que nous ne manquions de rien tout au long du repas. Tout était réuni pour nous faire vivre une belle immersion dans la culture marocaine. Je recommende fortement cette place si vous souhaiter vivre la cuisine authentique du Maroc :)

Pros:
- Great atmosphere & decent service.
- halal menu (note: they no longer serve sandwiches).
- Complimentary olives to start
- Lamb with apricots & almonds was delicious. Paired with some hot sauce, it was the highlight dish. Wish it came with some couscous to make it a complete meal.

Cons:
- Small portion sizes for the prices they charge. Didn't feel full after leaving.
- Couscous $5 extra (should just include it given the high price).
- Mechouia was ok (again, small portion). Nothing special.
- The chicken tajine with olives & lemons wasn't good. Chicken was extremely dry making it unpleasant to eat.
- Not a fan of their bread. Very dense.
- Food didn't taste as fresh as I hoped.

Overall, I had high expectations going in but in the end, it was underwhelming to say the least & I likely won't be returning.

Belle ambiance , super service!! Par contre quelle déception de payer 25 $ pour une tagine dans laquelle il n'y a qu'une poitrine de poulet sans aucun légumes. C'était une première pour nous mais on y retournera pas malheureusement.

Le meilleur restaurant de la ville de Montréal. La bouffe excellente même meilleure que celle du Maroc. Très propre, des saveurs authentique. & l'accueil incroyable, chaleureux & à l'écoute ce qui découle de la belle coutume marocaine !

Came around lunchtime; so we ate off the brunch menu. Our server explained the menu & made great recommendations. The dining room was comfortable. Everything I ate was delicious, & the prices were reasonable.

This restaurant was amazing from service to food to vibes. The owner is very hospitable & friendly. & the servers are kind. Also the meat & chicken are very tender & full of flavour. We had such a great experience the first time we had to come back again the next day. Absolutely loved the Moroccan food & culture. If they opened up a location in Toronto I would be there every weekend.
