Adorable little place with delicious food. We got the afternoon tea service, which came with a scone, 3 tea sandwiches, 2 phyllo cups & an assortment of desserts each. The food was very well made & the tea selection was amazing. The scones were particularly amazing, soft & moist.
Afternoon tea is only served after 12h30, so make sure to make a reservation since it is quite small.View more
J'y suis allée avec mon fils & ma mère pour le thé & goûté, une expérience à refaire, le service parfait, les scones absolument délicieux, les sandwiches desserts tout autant. Le prix très abordable. Je vous le conseilleView more
The tea flavors here are delightful. It's quite small so I suggest reserving. Scones were delicious & the people working there are nice. Very laidback atmosphere.View more
My friends introduced me to this place, & told me they have some of the best house-baked scones in Montreal. I agree 100% with them. Top selection of teas, delicious desserts, superb service. We had a lovely meal at the Gryphon D'Or Tea Room & I will definitely come back.View more

What a nice experience! The scones are to die for & especially with the homemade caramel! They have a nice selection of teas. The service is great & friendly. I highly recommend!View more
The scones are the best that I have had in Montreal. They also have a variety of very good teas to go with. The only drawback is the place itself. It is a bit rundown & smelly & needs an upgradeView more
Wow my friend & I were pleasantly surprised by this place. The quality of the fresh products (scones & varieties of teas), incredible service with very nice waitresses. Everything is homemade!! It's our first time but not the last.View more
Such a cute place for afternoon tea! The staff is so kind, & the portions are generous. The ambiance is cozy & perfect for a relaxing afternoon with friends. The selection of teas is great, & the desserts are absolutely delicious (scones are amazing!!). Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy a lovely afternoon treat!View more
Great place for afternoon high tea. The freshly made scones are everything & we appreciated the friendly customer service. Thank you!View more
& this is how a perfect piping hot Scone should be accompanied with - Home made condiments, each adding its own distinct flavor to the scones . Team it up with a'Vanilla earl gray tea" & you are instantly transported to the lanes of the British high tea ambience! Not a fancy over the top place. But this is how it's supposed to be - calm & quiet aptly guided by the wonderful hosts :)View more
I visited this cozy, vibrant tea room with my two daughters for some afternoon tea. We got a warm welcome from this gentleman (apologies for not remembering your name) along with Donna, who came to check up on us a few times to make sure the food was upto our tastes & according to our dietary restrictions (no pork & alcohol). We probably had the best scones here after England! The spread for their afternoon was aesthetically pleasing & sufficient for 5-6 people. Donna sent us home with complimentary freshly baked scones! The whole dining experience was very enjoyable, & they made us feel right at home. We will be returning soon! Thank you to the team of Gryphon d'Or for delivering an exceptional service!View more

What a beautiful, friendly, & delightful place to eat! The staff were so accommodating to my family, including my children, & genuinely care about your experience. Everything tasted wonderful, the sandwiches, soup, salad, scones with different toppings, & dessert. You may need a reservation to eat but it is truly a must see experience.View more
Simply wow, definitely on the "must come back" list. The meatloaf scone was delicious & same for the beef & barley soup, finishing with the desserts that were amazing & all of it for such a great price.View more

A hidden gem in the NDG area with everything homemade in-house with a large variety of tea to choose from. Their scone & short bread is really good indeed. Remember to call for reservations in advance.View more
What a gem! We had such a great experience; fantastic service, wonderful friendly staff, excellent food all prepared fresh. Homemade jams, hot fresh baked scones, exquisitely prepared desserts, we can't say enough about the place! The owner even came out to greet us & was just a pleasure to speak with as she shared her passion for the food & for our common love for musical theatre (as the played show tunes once the afternoon tea was wrapping up! 🥰). We are now officially hooked & look forward to going back soon! ♥️View more
Loved it! Had the whole tea service, everyone was extra kind & the food was just *chef's kiss*. We didn't feel rush to eat & leave. The scones with the choices of homemade jam is definitely a must. 100% recommend & will visit againView more
Visited this cozy little nook of a tea room with a couple of friends. I had called ahead to request gluten-free options for a member of our group which they were able to accommodate without any issues (she had her own personal tiered tray of GF options!). The service we received was impeccable & the staff are sweet, friendly, welcoming & hilarious : ) Personal tea faves are the Winter Spice & mint. Scones (with clotted cream) are truly delicious.View more
Not your usual high-tea spot. This cozy place offer a delicious aromatic variety of teas. Their scones hug your soul along with their heavenly home-made jams, caramel, cream, & more to devour with scones. Their adorable sandwiches & desserts will not only fill your appetite but your heart. I truly appreciated their warm & bubbly service. Please note they only take cash or E-transfer.View more
Long review ahead, but TLDR; this is a fantastic place for scones, lunch, afternoon tea, a date, a catch-up with friends, or a nice solo-date. Scones 11/10 with the best spreads & mixed teas. Photos ft Afternoon Tea with scones (new jam & plating), English breakfast tea mixed with a berry tea, & afternoon tea with yummy sandwiches & an assortment of desserts! We moved tables after a big group came, but it was fine! Long review: Absolutely LOVE this place. I've been going since 2019 & will always keep coming back. My first impression in 2019 was how warm & homey the place felt. Ciaran, the guy working the floor & the register at the time, was such a lovely presence, & always offered an extra scone after I had excitedly finished my first two haha. BEST SCONES, hands down. After the early years of the pandemic, I stopped seeing Ciaran there, & instead met Kate & Donna! I hope I'm getting the names right. Donna is a star & approached my partner & I when we were speaking, maybe a little too loudly haha, about wanting to recreate their lemon curd at home! She told us all that was in it without sharing secrets, & it was just so lovely. Again, I feel so at home with how friendly & casual the staff is :) Kate is ever lovely & brings an extra spot of brightness! I often overhear her speaking with the elderly customers, calling them by their first names, & really bringing that hospitality & personal touch. Most recently, she handled my booking through Google actually! When we got there, there was a mixup with the booking, with her knowing we had reserved, but we weren't in the system. Despite this, we did some Tetris with the tables, & it all worked out! Should have been stressful, but she made it lovely for my last litte date with my partner before I traveled to Asia for a few months without him! All in all, lovely place. Great food with a limited & rotating menu, great service, super cute interior design, jams & food available to go or for purchase, & an always fun afternoon tea session. Smoked salmon appetizer is fantastic. Mix the sweet cream & caramel, sweet cream & lemon curd, & be sure to ask for more! I preferred the peach whisky jam over the new spiced one, but the new triple berry jam is great! I'll be back when I'm back from Asia, & I'll bring my family 🥰View more
We reserved the tea room as a large group of ~20 people, & we were blown away with the service, quality & ambience. Firstly, we really appreciated the cozy, laid-back atmosphere. The food was delicious & filling, many of us had to bring home leftovers as we were too stuffed. The quality of the food was great too, the standouts being the freshly baked scones, phyllo cups & the mini-cheesecakes. Above all, the service was excellent. The waitstaff were lovely, congenial & attentive. For many of us, this was our first experience having afternoon tea, & I can confidently say that the Gryphon D'Or set the bar high! Would definitely go back in the future & highly recommend.View more
Lovely lowkey place, an absolute treasure for the neighborhood. Everything is delicious & homemade. You have to try the scones!View more
One of my favorite breakfast spots in the city. You must make a reservation because its tiny & usually booked on the weekends. The food is so good, they have great teas, & their high tea is a really nice treat for a special occasion. If youre going for brunch, I highly recommend the half & half (half eggs benedict, half french toast) - I always get the lemon curd & berries french toast because it is delicious. Also the staff are all super nice. They gave us some scones to go at the end of our brunch because they felt bad about another reservation needing out table, it was so kind (& delicious!). I could really gush about this place but its really such a gem of a restaurant.View more
We came here for the afternoon tea today for my friend's birthday. The service was really wonderful & the cafe is really cozy. I don't understand the few snobby reviews of the afternoon tea service. I wasn't expecting a super high end hotel tea service (though it was my first time having an afternoon tea anywhere), & that was kind of the point. It was really good value for the amount of food we received while still being accessible for our budget. On to the food...the highlights for me were the scones & the desserts. Every bite was phenomenal & we loved the assortment of different toppings for the scones. The brownies were amazing. The sandwiches & salmon & veggie cups were great too. I enjoyed every bite of food I had. They did forget to write a little happy birthday for our friend, but we were enjoying ourselves so much we didn't even notice. The waiter very cleverly asked us which scone toppings we preferred under the guise of curiosity, but they apologized for forgetting the birthday & sent each of us home with an extra scone & cookie & our respective favorite topping. Totally unexpected & unnecessary, but we really appreciated it a lot. I can't wait to come back for a date with my boyfriend (who really enjoyed the food I brought home). Thank you for a really lovely afternoon! My only suggestion would be to list the hours of the tea service online - it would have been useful to have this information beforehand.View more
