The tempura batter is nice, the green tea was brewed correctly, & the staff was attentive with checking up & refilling drinks. Not a lot of frills here, just good food. I think a sign of a good place is regulars, & when I was there two regulars showed up. One has his seat by the window & the other had a pickup order, & the owners came out & greeted both sets of people.
The interior of this restaurant has a retro Japan feel with decor & music to bring that ambiance. The service was friendly & efficient. There are vegetarian sushi & Bento options. The Bento boxes were presented beautifully & there were some uncommon items like lettuce leaf in my sushi roll & cucumber & potato tempura. The veg Bento was about $30, which was quite a higher price for the quality of the food, but in this case I guess the price is to reflect the experience of the atmosphere. Overall, the experience was okay.
L'expérience omakase a été succulente! Nous avons adoré! Tous les plats sont travaillés avec soin & goût. Belle expérience culinaire! L'ambiance est discrète, idéal pour une soirée tranquille.
Staff was awesome, amazing food & service. Comfy atmosphere & cute hidden gem.
Ordered to go but the service was great anyway. Very good quality sushi & the portion sizes are not enormous but that was expected.
Authentic Japanese restaurant. Really fresh. Quality fish & rice. Nothing compared to the other ones that just wants to sell a ball of low quality rice with a little bit of some cheap fish inside. This place is real.
I visited Japan a couple years ago & this was my most authentic experience since then! Low key but perfect & so welcoming. The food was obviously, amazing!
Ambiance typique japonaise. Musique douce japonaise. Service impeccable. Meilleur sushi que j'ai mangé à Montréal & je suis montréalaise d'origine & suis fervente de sushi. J'ai pris le Happy Combo avec sushi & sashimi. Je recommande fortement & reviendrai assurément!
Really authentic Japanese food, highly recommended, good price & good service.
This might have been the single best sushi experience I have had in Montreal. The lunch combo I ordered came with miso soup, small salad, tempura, sashimi, nigiri, hoso & futo Maki's, green tea & ice cream. The miso soup was cloudly, perfectly hot & flavorful. The tempura included shrimp, zucchini, eggplant & sweet potato all expertly fried, light & had no greasiness to them at all. The sashimi was a good variety of tuna, salmon & snapper. All of which were fresh & clean tasting. The nigiri were very well prepared with perfectly seasoned rice & wasabi used in the perfect proportion. Rolls were varied & balanced with different textures & flavors. The meal was finished off with hot tea & green tea ice cream. The service was attentive but not overbearing. The meal was paced very well by the waiter & it was nice to feel so taken care of. Including a diet coke, all this was had for the incredible price of $34.49 including taxes. For the quality of the food & the experience, I cannot recommend Sakura enough.
