Nice atmosphere & a comfortable dining environment. The food was decent but fairly average. A few sushi rolls arrived already falling apart, & the salad in the set menu had quite a lot of dressing.

Service during the meal was friendly, though the food took a bit longer than expected. When we mentioned our feedback at checkout, there was no acknowledgment or apology, which was a little disappointing. Overall, a pleasant place, but there is room for improvement.

Quaint Japanese restaurant about 350m from the Bell Centre. It's located on the 2nd floor at the intersection of Stanley & Cypress so there are some stairs to climb. It's right next to the Italian restaurant & the signage isn't as obvious so you might miss it. Had the Bento du jour, which was quite generous in its servings. The fried tofu was pretty good, & the teriyaki salmon was a good serving served on a bed of rice. It came with 3 pieces of sushi & 4 California rolls that were very good. I enjoyed the small spring roll it came with as it was a different flavour to the fish pieces. The tempura was nice & light & the skewer of teriyaki chicken was very flavourful. Not shown in the picture but also included was a bowl of miso soup, salad & a dessert that included a scoop of green tea ice cream & a cup of hot green tea. Pretty good value bento box! Super friendly older lady was serving everyone & I was surprised they weren't busier. I wasn't sure how big the bento box would be so ordered a spicy salmon roll & 2 pieces of spicy tuna, both were great!

The interior of this restaurant has a retro Japan feel with decor & music to bring that ambiance. The service was friendly & efficient. There are vegetarian sushi & Bento options. The Bento boxes were presented beautifully & there were some uncommon items like lettuce leaf in my sushi roll & cucumber & potato tempura. The veg Bento was about $30, which was quite a higher price for the quality of the food, but in this case I guess the price is to reflect the experience of the atmosphere. Overall, the experience was okay.

This might have been the single best sushi experience I have had in Montreal. The lunch combo I ordered came with miso soup, small salad, tempura, sashimi, nigiri, hoso & futo Maki's, green tea & ice cream. The miso soup was cloudly, perfectly hot & flavorful. The tempura included shrimp, zucchini, eggplant & sweet potato all expertly fried, light & had no greasiness to them at all. The sashimi was a good variety of tuna, salmon & snapper. All of which were fresh & clean tasting. The nigiri were very well prepared with perfectly seasoned rice & wasabi used in the perfect proportion. Rolls were varied & balanced with different textures & flavors. The meal was finished off with hot tea & green tea ice cream. The service was attentive but not overbearing. The meal was paced very well by the waiter & it was nice to feel so taken care of. Including a diet coke, all this was had for the incredible price of $34.49 including taxes. For the quality of the food & the experience, I cannot recommend Sakura enough.
