Review Summary

Across reviews, Jardins SAKURA Garden is seen as a pleasant, authentic Japanese dining option with a warm, friendly staff and a cozy, retro vibe, where the atmosphere and attentive service are frequently praised and the prices are considered fair for the quality. The menu features tasty sushi, sashimi and other dishes, with highlights like well prepared sukiyaki and generous bentos, though a few meals are described as average and some orders arrive slower than expected. Some guests note good value and generous portions in the bentos, while others point to occasional inconsistencies or missteps in portioning or preparation. Overall, Jardins SAKURA Garden is regarded as a good, inviting place with a strong sense of authenticity and character, and many reviews express a willingness to return despite occasional criticisms about value or service during busy times.

Quaint Japanese restaurant about 350m from the Bell Centre. It's located on the 2nd floor at the intersection of Stanley & Cypress so there are some stairs to climb. It's right next to the Italian restaurant & the signage isn't as obvious so you might miss it. Had the Bento du jour, which was quite generous in its servings. The fried tofu was pretty good, & the teriyaki salmon was a good serving served on a bed of rice. It came with 3 pieces of sushi & 4 California rolls that were very good. I enjoyed the small spring roll it came with as it was a different flavour to the fish pieces. The tempura was nice & light & the skewer of teriyaki chicken was very flavourful. Not shown in the picture but also included was a bowl of miso soup, salad & a dessert that included a scoop of green tea ice cream & a cup of hot green tea. Pretty good value bento box! Super friendly older lady was serving everyone & I was surprised they weren't busier. I wasn't sure how big the bento box would be so ordered a spicy salmon roll & 2 pieces of spicy tuna, both were great!

Délicieuse cuisine japonaise. Les tempuras sont wow! Les'happy combo' permettent de goûter à plein de plats, le'Bento box' du jour, à presque tout! Nous avons beaucoup aimé, Arigato!

This place has been open for 50 years - there's a photo wall as you walk in with photos - & it makes sense why when you taste the food. The tempura batter is nice, the green tea was brewed correctly, & the staff was attentive with checking up & refilling drinks. Not a lot of frills here, just good food. I think a sign of a good place is regulars, & when I was there two regulars showed up. One has his seat by the window & the other had a pickup order, & the owners came out & greeted both sets of people.

The interior of this restaurant has a retro Japan feel with decor & music to bring that ambiance. The service was friendly & efficient. There are vegetarian sushi & Bento options. The Bento boxes were presented beautifully & there were some uncommon items like lettuce leaf in my sushi roll & cucumber & potato tempura. The veg Bento was about $30, which was quite a higher price for the quality of the food, but in this case I guess the price is to reflect the experience of the atmosphere. Overall, the experience was okay.

This might have been the single best sushi experience I have had in Montreal. The lunch combo I ordered came with miso soup, small salad, tempura, sashimi, nigiri, hoso & futo Maki's, green tea & ice cream. The miso soup was cloudly, perfectly hot & flavorful. The tempura included shrimp, zucchini, eggplant & sweet potato all expertly fried, light & had no greasiness to them at all. The sashimi was a good variety of tuna, salmon & snapper. All of which were fresh & clean tasting. The nigiri were very well prepared with perfectly seasoned rice & wasabi used in the perfect proportion. Rolls were varied & balanced with different textures & flavors. The meal was finished off with hot tea & green tea ice cream. The service was attentive but not overbearing. The meal was paced very well by the waiter & it was nice to feel so taken care of. Including a diet coke, all this was had for the incredible price of $34.49 including taxes. For the quality of the food & the experience, I cannot recommend Sakura enough.

The best tempura & sushi I've ever had, & the workers were so nice!! My mother's been here a lot & told me a bit about its history & I admire the owners so much. Everyone is so lovely.
