Reviews consistently highlight Saiko for extremely fresh fish, excellent sushi options, and a warm, friendly atmosphere with attentive service. The Omakase experience is described as fantastic, and several guests praise the staff for accommodating severe dietary restrictions, including gluten-free requests, with careful cross-checks. The overall experience is regarded as among the best sushi in Montreal and Laval, with good value and a varied menu that keeps things interesting. A few notes mention slower service when the restaurant is busy, but the quality of food and the inviting vibe remain strong, and many say it is worth a trip off the walking street.
I have a sushi Omakase experience pretty much every city I travel to for work, & this was fantastic. Get off the walking street & come to this place, as it is the best sushi I have ever had in Montreal. Bravo!

The sushi was extremely fresh, the options varied, & the ambiance pleasant. Only downside was there was only 2 servers for the entire restaurant, which made service slightly slower.
But the food was awesome, would definitely return!
Had a girl's night at Saiko sushi on a Wednesday night.
Each of us have a sushi - chef choice $38 sorry I forgot the name. But it was the fresh catch of the day. With rice under & surrounding by fresh avocados. It was really good! Super fresh, I feel the sashimi I can have a lot of them 😁
& we have added a beef yaki. The beef was not tender enough. however the teriyaki sauce is amazing!
5/5 for service. I have asked for gluten free soy sauce. The server did one step ahead by confirming if it is in allergy & made sure all my food are gluten free, & especially got me the teriyaki sauce gluten free as well
Missing one point is only because the beef was not tender.
Btw if you like Riesling , they have amazing Riesling $13/ glass. I like it sweet, & this one served in the restaurant exactly good sweetness
We have been here for lunch. The food was delicious. The service was also very good, friendly staff. It's my first sushi in Montreal. I can recommend this restaurant.
This was probably my best sushi experience, ever. It was so good the first time, I came in again the next night with my wife. The staff here are just awesome, Shing-Ichi especially. They've been making sushi for decades & their dedication is evident in the experience. My suggestion is to go to the bar, & order the Chef's Choice, where they will provide a selection of Nigiri that will knock your socks off.

Une explosion de saveurs Les meilleurs sushis que j'ai mangé Sincèrement superbe découverte pour nous avec nos amis de la France tous d'accord les meilleurs !
A great sushi restaurant in downtown Montreal. Lunch Tuesday to Thursday, dinner Tuesday to Saturday. Please note they'll be closed for lunch from July 30 until mid August.
Descent sushi, not a lot of selection on the menu. The quality & price of the meals are reasonable in my opinion. Not a particular aesthetic restaurant & was pretty empty on a Thursday evening
