An absolute gem in the heart of Old Montreal!
Sabrosa completely blew us away from the moment we walked in. Tucked inside a stunning historic stone building on Place Jacques-Cartier, the atmosphere alone is worth the visit - it somehow manages to feel vibrant & lively while still being warm & intimate. You can genuinely sense the soul of Mexico City, Lima, & Buenos Aires all woven together under one roof.
But let's talk about the food, because wow. The menu is a love letter to Latin America, & every dish reflects that passion. The ceviche was bright, citrusy, & absolutely fresh - easily the best I've had in Montreal. The birria tacos were rich & deeply flavored, & the nikkei-inspired touches throughout the menu added such a creative, unexpected dimension. Everything is clearly made with real technique & intention, not just thrown together.
The cocktail list deserves its own shoutout - the mezcal & tequila selection is impressive, & the bartenders clearly know what they're doing.
Service was warm, attentive, & genuinely enthusiastic about the food - exactly what you want. Our server walked us through the menu with real knowledge & care.
Whether you're coming for a date night, a group dinner, or just because you deserve something spectacular - Sabrosa delivers every time. Already planning our next visit. ¡Sabrosa indeed!
Glad to discover this restaurant! I shared the guacamole, birria tacos, & al pastor tacos. All delicious & good portion sizes. Unfortunately, the churros were still raw in the middle. Other than that, I look forward to coming back to try other dishes.
Sabrosa is a beautiful place to dine in. The decor was absolutely divine & I will say the food was what really brought us it all together. You can never go wrong with birria tacos but the ones at Sabrosa were some of the most delicious & flavourful tacos I've ever had. The portions were generous, leaving all of us completely satisfied. Since we were a group of 6, we were charged a 5$ service fee & the waiter did not ask for additional tips, which we appreciated. We spent a great evening here & I will definitely be coming back to try the other items on the menu
Best place I ate at in Montreal & for a crazy reasonable price! Beautiful location, we just walked in with no reservation during Canada Day, friendly staff, & amazing food.
I got the shrimp tacos & birria tacos which were insane. Also tried my friends enchilada which was also insane. Had a great time honestly. Would go back in a heartbeat.
We got the corn, birria tacos, & Al pastor tacos. Coming from California I actually found the tacos from here really good! In my personal opinion, the birria tacos were the best I have ever tried. Our waiter was awesome. The cocktails were delicious.
I tried this restaurant on a whim & really enjoyed it. We were sitting on the terrace at first, but since there were too many bees, we moved indoors. We had the albacore tostada, birria tacos, & fish tacos-they were all delicious.
There weren't many people inside; on our side, we were the only ones. The staff were young & friendly.
They also have a secret bar near the bathroom, which I'm definitely planning to try one day.
There's no dedicated parking-street parking is limited, & if you can't find a spot, you'll need to pay for a nearby parking lot.
