This place is phenomenal!!! By far the best Indian food I've ever had!! Both the food & the drinks were delicious, the ambience was lovely, & the owner, Surbha, was so kind & accommodating!! We stumbled in without a reservation & she squeezed us in nevertheless- an absolute must if you're in Montreal!!View more

We were here for the MTL à table experience, which is a great way for restaurants to show off their menu, at least that's what I was expecting. I was so disappointed with this one. Serving paneer with no sauce? interesting. Plate of 4 "malai" shrimps, still no sauce? Naan was great, the rest of the food lacked flavor (I don't know how you can mess up butter chicken...) & this is coming from a non-spicy eater lol. I don't understand how this place is so highly rated, especially considering that Montreal has so many great Indian food spots. Lastly, I don't care much for the service if the food is great, but in this case, maybe a nicer service would've made up for the bland food? first & last time for me!View more

She is so welcoming & gives excellent customer service. The best indian food i ate in montreal is here. Will for sure come back again & again to have these tasty indian dishes. I don't understand all the five star reviews. The food was OK but really nothing special. One exception was the rosemary naan with I thought was fabulous. But the lamb in the Rogan Josh was fatty & the curry had way too much oil (you could see the lamb swimming in pools of oil). & the other entries were just average. Nothing terrible but definitely not a destination for the food. Atmosphere was nice & they have live music which is nice but have realistic expectations. I think there are many better restaurants for Indian food in the vicinity if food is your focus.View more

I recently had the pleasure of trying Rutba & was blown away by the experience! The atmosphere was warm & inviting, & the service was top-notch. But the real star of the show was the food - every dish we ordered was expertly prepared & bursting with flavor. I was particularly impressed by the Junglee mass, which was cooked to perfection & presented beautifully. This dish is spicy though! So it's not for the fair hearted! Overall, I would highly recommend Rutba to anyone looking for a delicious & memorable Indian meal. The combination of great food, excellent service, & cozy atmosphere makes it a standout in the Montreal scene!View more

The Paneer Lababdar was orange & tangy so just like any other American Indian restaurant in the city, not for Indians looking for original taste. Breads were nicely done in the tandoor. The appetizers Veg kebab felt dry for some reason. But we should be back to try some other items on the menu.View more
