We picked that restaurant over the really good reviews we saw & we have to say the whole experience exceeded our expectations.
The food was delicious, better than most of the indian restaurant I experienced in Montréal.
The lahsooni Murg Tikka is out of this world, if you like chicken this is it. Portions are good & service is excellent. Thank you Sim & Pushya.View more
Sorry, we have no pictures. We started eating right away because the food looked so appetizing. We were NOT disappointed. We ordered, Pani Puri, Samosa Chaat, Classic Butter Chicken, Coconut Shrimp Malai, Naan & Gulab Jamun. The ingredients were fresh, everything was delicious. The waitress Sim was very helpful & knowledgeable. We will definitely be back. This is our new favorite spot for Indian food.View more
Delicious Indian food & friendly staff. Plus, they have a nice terrace.View more
Tastiest Indian food in montreal. Extremely friendly & helpful people. Loved the place.View more
Fresh take on Indian cuisine. Relaxed comfortable atmosphere, reasonable prices, nice service & tasty dishes.View more
The decor & location is nice, but regrettably the food isn't authentic Indian cuisine. The 4.8 score is misleading.
We tried the butter chicken & Bengali fish. The butter chicken gravy seemed to be on the watery side & the fish prep was not Bengali. It can be replicated using KFI butter chicken gravy jars from the grocery store. Putting mustard seeds in fish doesn't make it Bengali prep, it had a plain tomato onion base & tasted like Aloo Matar with fish. I felt sad for the fish which ended up in this prep.
Food was just okay, if you're not looking for that authentic Indian taste.View more
Food was amazing, spice level was perfect to be termed as authentic indian food. Server Simran was very friendly & guided us through ordering.View more
What a delightful experience, we ordered a punjabi sabji with naan & it was so amazing & so rich flavour. No added colour, not too spicy & what a creamy gravy with soft natural panner, just very much delicious. A must try restaurant for indian food in montreal!View more

Went there during night with my friend. Stunning Indian cuisine, every dishes are packed with flavors. Theres nothing more you can ask. Highly recommended their combo if you want to try more flavors at once.
Just a little discomfort from the bench seatings.
Remember to reserve your seats if you do not want to wait.View more
Authentic Indian food in a lovely modern atmosphere. One of the best Indian meals I ever had. I ordered the combo-plate which gave me 3 choices of hot maindishes.

Great service & most likely the best Indian food in the city.View more
Food: Pretty good food, but i would recommend going classic on some dish items. I saw a pumpkin spice butter chicken dish & was really skeptical about it as an Indian, that would definitely not hit. The ambience is nice though & cute for going out with friends/coworker/etc. Good serviceView more

I am absolutely delighted with my experience at Rutba, Montreal. This Indian restaurant exceeded all expectations with its exceptional food & diverse menu. What impressed me the most was how they strike the perfect balance-while offering authentic Indian flavors, they also cater to a wider audience, including French & English-speaking locals. The restaurant was buzzing with people from different cultural backgrounds, which speaks volumes about the quality & versatility of their offerings. Here's what I tried & loved: • Hara Bhara Kebab: Perfectly cooked & packed with flavor. • Noodle Manchurian Platter: A unique & creative dish I've never seen before, served in generous portions. • Zafani Broccoli: Simply amazing & cooked to perfection. • Lachha Paratha: The best I've ever had, even compared to those in India-crispy, flaky, & absolutely delicious. • Dal & Paneer Piyaza: Rich, flavorful, & comforting. • Rosemary Naan & Garlic Naan: Soft, aromatic, & bursting with taste. Rutaba has truly mastered the art of blending tradition with innovation. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, & the flavors were nothing short of extraordinary. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. Can't wait to visit again! Thanks surbhi & shravani for making our visit to Montreal so special.View more

This is a buzzing Indian restaurant which serves amazing Indian cuisines. We went in with a reservation , had called in before to make sure to get seated since it was a Saturday. They have live Indian music on weekends i guess & it was amazing. The vibe of the place overall is the best. We were served very cheerfully & service till the end was great. The Paneer tikka masala (100/10) will teleport you to the New Delhi & it was legit the best I have had in Montreal. This is one dish i will suggest you to have apart from any dishes you feel comfortable. You cant miss this dish. I literally mean it. Apart from that we had Onion bhaji (10/10)(The chat masala on top, onion spinach combination is something i tried first time & the chutney, all together nails it) Paneer lababdaar(8.5/10) (The curry was rich in flavor but on a sweeter tone so not my style i would say but you'll love it) Garlic naan (10/10) The garlic naans here were fresh, they didn't go chewy after some while which shows the dough is fresh & its an artistic thing to achieve this. I love it. This restaurant lived up to the hype & i think the authentic Indian taste is rare to find. The drinks were delicately crafted, I had the blue lagoon & it was the best. Definitely try that out. Apart from that, no complaints necessarily, I think you should not grudge visiting this restaurant & there's literally lots of things in vegetarian, non vegetarian options that I will have to visit few times to make all the things i wondered would taste equally good. Their dessert range is also very alluring & we were literally so full in onion bhaji & main course that we couldn't have it. So i will definitely visit it back to even just try their desserts. The chefs, mixologist & the owner have worked hardest & it shows the way they have crafted the best menu. I wish i visit it quite often. Definitely in my top 5 Indian restaurants to try in Montreal list.View more
Poor service, decent food. Rant coming up. Made a reservation five days before & they cancelled it "accidentally". When I asked to be accommodated they said no. Went on a different day & had a reservation for 9:30 pm. I stood at the gate till 10 pm until finally being seated. The host only came to speak to at the entrance at 9:50 pm. Several servers walked past but no one gave cared to stop & ask. I am a customer & I pay for service, so I need to be respected as a customer. While the restaurant was busy, servers were standing near the bar & chatting, which didn't seem like they were busy. Extremely disappointed with the service & treatment. After being seated, I waited for over 15 minutes for someone to take my order. They were waiting for someone else to show up despite me telling the servers that it was just me dining. As for the food, pretty average. Starters are good, highly recommend the Samosa chaat but not worth the price. Butter chicken was so sweet & I had to literally ask for salt & chilli -> this tells me that they mostly cater to white taste buds. If you go there, expect an aesthetic environment & food. Better Indian restaurants than this for better price so don't recommend.View more
