So happy to find this dog friendly brunch place! Dogs are allowed inside. Our dog enjoyed his doggie menu while we got to enjoy our delicious brunch! Coffee drinks were great & I loved the cappucino art-paw. There is also a small fenced area by the parking lot, where our dog got to run around after his meal :) cannot wait to be back!View more

Disappointing Return Visit - Poor Service
We visited this café nearly two months ago & absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was charming, perfect for brunch with our dog, & while the food was a bit pricey, it was well within the typical Montréal range.
Unfortunately, today's visit was a completely different experience-& not in a good way.
Despite having a reservation, we were asked by a male waiter (longer, light hair) to wait on the side while our table was being prepared. That was fine. However, the table-though empty-sat uncleaned for 15 minutes while staff attended to other guests. We patiently waited nearby, but there was no acknowledgment or update. Again, we completely understood, & we were just hanging out mingling with other dogs.
I eventually made eye contact with the same waiter… kind of wondering what was happening with the table. The waiter looked at me with a mix of contempt & irritation-like a silent'What do you want now?' It was unprofessional & completely uncalled for' -not the kind of tone or attitude you'd expect in any customer-facing setting. Surprised (& with an uncomfortable smile), I simply said,'Well… we just…?' Not even letting me finish my sentence, he responded sharply,'Ben, quoi? qu'est-ce que tu veux?' It was rude, & frankly quite shocking. We were politely waiting on the side, & we did not deserve that type of response in any way.
I reminded him that he was the one who asked us to wait for our table earlier- he just said ah! OK - still no apology or explanation. It was disappointing & honestly super disrespectful.
Eventually, another staff member showed ya the table-the same still-dirty table. A bottle of water was placed on it, but no glasses. We waited another 10 minutes before anyone took our order.
The food didn't make up for the poor service. My dish & coffee were underwhelming (though my partner did enjoy his pancakes). Our dog's order was also forgotten until we reminded them.
On a positive note, the new waitress who eventually served us was kind & clearly trying her best, which we appreciated.
Sadly, this return visit left us with a bad impression. We won't be coming back. A final note to that waiter: everyone has tough days, as I've worked many years in the restaurant business, I can very well understand a busy morning or fast paced environment…& I never make reviews like this… but this behaviour today got under my skin. Basic respect goes a long way. No one should leave a café feeling dismissed or disrespected. Very unfortunate.View more

Brunch très sympa dans un restaurant dog-friendly ! Les plats étaient bons, il y avait plein de chiens & une super ambiance. Ils servent aussi de la bière & il y a même un menu pour les chiens. J'y retournerai avec plaisir !View more

If you want an indoor brunch place to dine with pets, this is the place in Montreal. Nice atmosphere (assuming you want to see dogs). Good food, & a lot of it. Get a treat for your dog while here.View more

I had been wanting to try Ruby Café with my dog for a while & it did not disappoint. Such a lovely place for brunch. The lemon ricotta pancakes were amazing & my dog loved the meatballs. He even got a little cupcake for his birthday on the house. Staff were lovely.View more

Very nice place for brunch. The food was good & the staff were great. The only issue is that people that bring their dog don't keep their dog close to them. They just let them pull towards others, not thinking how the other dog will feel.View more

We visited Ruby Café on a Sunday morning to celebrate our Yorkshire Terrier's first birthday, & it was a fantastic experience! The service was excellent, & the brunch menu, priced around $20 per person, was both reasonable & delicious. We treated our pup to a small pupcake, & they even provided a candle, which was a nice touch. The ambiance is lovely, the place is very clean, & it's clear they care about both their human & furry guests. I highly recommend this spot to other dog owners. Plus, with the Lachine Canal just across the street, it's the perfect place to take your dog for a walk after brunch. We'll definitely be back!View more

By far one of the best brunch places in Montreal! I believe the breakfast/brunch is only available on the weekends however. Do make a reservation as this is a very popular spot! Unique tasty dishes, beautifully presented. I would come here even if we didn't have a dog in the family. Five stars for food. :)View more

La place est superbe, le café est beau, & les installation parfaite pour pitou, notamment les bols à disposition, ainsi que la piscine puis l'hôtel. Original & très apprécié il a même une petite boutique attenante . Le service & la nourriture au café laisse toutefois & à désirer en plus j'ai laissé 18% & le Service très très lent, il n'y avait pourtant pas beaucoup de gens & le menu vraiment pas fameux . Je n'ai pas tant aimé le brunch que j'ai prise & les pancakes avaient un goût de sel amer. 🧂 une prochaine fois peut être cela sera mieux! Mes étoiles c'est uniquement pour le service au café , j'ai pas essayer la piscine & l'hôtel!View more

Amazing spaces. Very modern & beautiful. I love the pool for the pups (at an extra cost) & the little shop for doggos. A bit expensive but you definitely see the quality. The experience to come brunch with your furry friend & have them socialize is great. Food was excellent & there is a view inside the kitchen which is beautiful. Definitely recommend. Only disappointed about the opening hours, wish they could be open during the week for study sessions with my pup.View more

We love coming here. We can take the whole family, baby, dogs & all, out to brunch! & it's not a boring brunch, it's an excellent brunch & top notch coffee, & something fresh & delicious for the pups :)
This time around we got the Ratatouille Poché & & it was a bit disappointing, as the food has always been great before. The Ratatouille Poché was a bit too soft as a plate; maybe the brioche could have been toasted, or maybe the Brussels leaves could have been crispy (both were raw) or maybe there could have been nuts in the dish? I don't think I will order it again, as mentioned above, everything else we've ordered has been amazing.

J'ai brunché au Ruby café à plusireurs reprises. Seule, en couple, entres amis, en grand groupe... le problème est toujours le même: le très mauvais service aux tables. Le restos est MAGNIFIQUES, l'ambiance est géniale, plats sont copieux & surtout EXCELLENT mais a chaque visite nous sortons du restaurant avec une frustration. Aujourd'hui noys avont ru un très bel acceuil. On nous a immrdiatement offert a boire & on nous a servit rapidement. On a pris nos commandes dans un délais raisonnable. Toutefois, une fois nos plats sur la table notre serveuse est disparue. Je voulais un café, une amie voulais des confitures, on avait aussi envie de poivre... On a rien eu de ce dont on avait besoin. Personne pour nous servir. Nos plats vides sont resté devant nous plus de 45 minutes...jusqu'à ce qu'on se fâche & qu'on doive se lever pour aller chercher quelqu'un qui a finalent ramasser 2 assiettes mais laissé tout le reste sur la table. Cela rend l'expérience très désagréable. Il est très dommage qu'un endroit aussi fabuleux ne puisse nous offrir une expérience entièrement satisfaisante 😡View more

We had the smiley breakfast, smoked salmon bagel & French sticks & our puppies loved the meatballs & pup cake. Service was also friendly & attentive. There is even a fenced in area to take your dog after to run & play. This is a great concept & we can't wait to return!
