All the servers were also extremely welcoming & friendly.
Was our 4th time there & every time is a pleasure. This most recent time was for their valentine's brunch & they made our pet & us feel so special. Always a good time & the food is amazing :)
We went for brunch with our dog, & the place is truly unique, with many thoughtful amenities for pets. As it was our dog's first time in a dining setting, he was a bit stressed, but the staff were absolutely wonderful, very kind & considerate. I highly recommend this spot if you want to enjoy a lovely brunch without having to leave your doggo at home.
Doggyville honestly left a permanent mark on my heart.
I came here with my dog Bolt on what ended up being one of the hardest days of my life. It was his last day with me before being rehomed. I didn't walk in announcing that, & I didn't want sympathy or awkwardness. Somehow, without needing an explanation, the staff handled everything with so much warmth & humanity that it still blows my mind.
Every single person there was incredible. The manager, the host, the waitresses, & even the pet boutique cashiers. Not one weak interaction. They were patient, gentle, accommodating, & genuinely compassionate. They gave Bolt extra attention, extra love, & even thoughtful little presents. It wasn't performative or forced. It felt real. On a day where I was barely holding it together, that kind of care mattered more than they'll ever know.
Bolt was never a difficult dog. He was calm, gentle, easy, & loyal to his core. He gave nothing but love, & Doggyville treated him exactly the way he deserved to be treated. Like he mattered. Like he was special. Like he wasn't just'a dog.'
& I have to talk about the food, because I went in with very low expectations. I fully assumed the food would be bad or gimmicky because it's a dog café. I was completely wrong. The food was genuinely amazing. Like actually good. The kind of place you'd come to even without a dog. I left feeling mad at myself for not discovering this place sooner & not making more memories here with Bolt.
This isn't just a dog café or restaurant. It's a place with real heart behind it. Doggyville will forever be tied to one of the most painful, emotional days of my life, & because of how they handled it, it's tied to gratitude too.
Thank you for being so kind to Bolt. & thank you for being kind to me when I really needed it.
We had the best time at Ruby Cafe for brunch. We searched for pet friendly ideas for our day visiting Montreal & found this adorable place. Highly recommend Ruby Cafe!!
Great place! Love the food! I always come back, people are so kind & welcome for pets ❤?
The staff was friendly & accommodating. It really felt like they enjoy working there. My partner & I went with our dog who was a little nervous & one of the waitresses there knelt down & made him feel welcomed petting our dog & chatting with us about him. The food was really good, we got the french toast sticks. We got two orders of meatballs for our pup, & a cupcake. He really enjoyed those! The place was decorated for the holidays, it looked really nice & homey! I recommend this place, all the lil doggos seemed to enjoy their time there, including mine who got to socialize. I enjoyed watching the dogs interact with each other, it was such a wholesome time!

Ruby Dog Café is such a gem! The brunch menu was delicious, & what makes it extra special is that dogs are welcome to join you inside. The atmosphere is warm & welcoming, & the staff made us feel right at home. My pup had the best time enjoying her pup cake while I enjoyed my meal. It's rare to find a place where both people & pets are treated so well. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun & tasty brunch spot with their furry friend!
Jamais vu d'altercations. Bref, on adore!! P.S. Les boulettes pour chiens sont un incontournable.
Les plats sont excellents & valent leurs prix, super service & mention spéciale à toutes ces petites bestioles adorables qui entourent calmement les tables
We loved the pet-friendly ambiance & the delicious food at this marvellous cafe. 😋
An amazing & real concept of a pet friendly restaurant. Dogs are treated like part of the family, from their own menu & space, bowls & hooks to attach their leash to. 4 stars because our server was terrible took forever to come take our order. The manager had to come check if we were taken care of & she took our order very nice. But then server forgot to bring our fries, They also ran out of what I order which was 2 eggs, toast & potatoes, & still charge us for the fries & breakfast we never got. We noticed after we walked out, went back & they did refund us. overall good pet friendly restaurant with good food but the service needs to get better.
Stopped here while visiting a friend in MTL. Lovely place, lovely vibe, friendly staff. Pet-friendly. 10/10 experience for dog owners even if they visit without their pooch.
My family & I were visiting from Toronto & were so happy to find a pet friendly café so that we can enjoy brunch as a family. The restaurant is so beautiful. The staff were all very welcoming. Our pup had the best time & had his own seat. The food also did not disappoint, it was delicious! Would definitely recommend coming here. Everything was amazing!!
We did a pit stop in Montreal during a road trip with our dog, was looking for a pet friendly restaurant. Ruby cafe was the first one that popped up on Google. Loved the atmosphere. I didn't know the daycare was actually attached to restaurant so it was cool to have all their services in one building. If you haven't already, consider opening up something similar in Toronto.
Cute place for both humans & their furry family member! Brunch & drinks were pretty good, typical brunch dishes. The Sloppy Dog sandwich & the Morrocan Casserole were tasty. Our dog definitely loved his Woof Meat Balls. He also had his own dishware with water. It's nice to know a place like this has good food so you & your furry member can enjoy a good time together! They also have a little enclosed area out front for your pet to take a toilet break & a run.

Disappointing Return - Poor Service
We came here a couple of months ago & loved the place-great vibe, pet-friendly, & decent food despite the higher price (well within the typical Montréal range). We were very eager to come back with the great first experience we had.
Unfortunately, our return visit was nothing like the first. Despite having a reservation, we were told to wait while our table (already empty but dirty) was prepped. No problem-we waited patiently nearby. But after 15 minutes with no update, I glanced toward the waiter (long light hair), & he responded with a look full of contempt, like a silent'What do you want now?'
Caught off guard, I polity asked what he meant & just for an update. He snapped back in French,'Ben, quoi? Qu'est-ce que tu veux?'-It was rude, & frankly quite shocking. We were politely waiting on the side, & we did not deserve that type of response in any way. When I reminded him he had asked us to wait, he just shrugged it off with no apology. It was disappointing & honestly super disrespectful.
Eventually, another staff member seated us-at the same uncleaned table. We were given a bottle of water but no glasses, & it took another 10 minutes to order. I honestly wanted to leave, but since we were sitting, I did not feel comfortable doing that. My food & coffee were underwhelming (though my partner liked his pancakes), & they forgot our dog's order until we reminded them.
The only bright spot was a new waitress who seemed kind & genuinely tried her best.
I rarely leave reviews like this, especially as someone who's worked in the service industry, but this experience was frustrating & disappointing. We won't be returning. I can very well understand a busy morning or fast paced environment…but basic respect goes a long way. No one should leave a café feeling dismissed or disrespected. Very unfortunate.
