Rôtisserie le Chalet Bar-B-Q a ouvert ses portes en Août 1944. Au cours de ces années nous avons construit une réputation légendaire pour le meilleur poulet rôti au monde. C'est vraiment le choix des connaisseurs! Nous achetons sélectivement des gros poulets, toujours frais et dodus. Nos poulets sont lentement rôtis dans les fours en briques sur du vrai charbon de bois d'érable. Nous assurons que tous le poulet son croustillante et dorée à l'extérieur, tendre et juteux à l'intérieur. Lorsque servis avec notre fameuse sauce trempette maison, rien ne se compare. Tout simplement délicieux. Bon Appétit!

I can't remember the last time I was at Chalet Bar B Q since leaving the city but I know one thing is for sure.... It hasn't changed one bit. Still amazing service, the best damned chicken & nostalgia.
A true Montreal icon. The best BBQ chicken in Canada, by far. Dine in to experience a restaurant that hasn't changed its decor in half a century, which is part of what makes it so fun. Fun, friendly staff.

An absolute must for anyone who loves good rotisserie chicken... even better: their sauce!! Absolutely incredible.
My favorite part of visiting Chalet BBQ, though, is the decor... i'm sure nothing has changed in about 40 years... brown wood everywhere (including the walls!), tacky art on the walls, cramped orangebooths... even the dinner plates are vintage, I swear! Feels like stepping back into the'80s. Seriously iconic stuff. It feels JUST right, along with the waitresses who've worked there for ages (some may SEEM grouchy, but if you're sweet enough, they call you'hun' or'my love!'), & unbeatable food, this is one of my favorite nostalgic spots.

Jusqu'à récemment, on pouvait manger les oreilles & la tête tranquille, sans entendre de musique.
Mais les choses ont changé. On se fait casser les oreilles par la musique, & c'est un manque de respect pour les clients qui veulent avoir la paix pour manger.

I've known & frequented Chalet BBQ since 1985.
While the unique & delicious taste of the chicken, fries & sauce have made this restaurant famous, the atmosphere is unfortunately deteriorating.
Until recently, you could eat with your ears & head quiet, without hearing any music.
But things have changed. We're having our ears broken by the music, & it's a lack of respect for customers who want to eat in peace.
Recently took the extended family & friends for dinner at Chalet BBQ. My family has been going here since the 1960's & we still love it! Food is always great, plentiful & good tasting. Service hasn't changed over the years , it's always great. Just doesn't get any better than Chalet BBQ.
I have to say out of all the old classic well known restaurants in Montreal this place has never changed. Here is where I start my update from previous 5 stars. When I put that original review in over a year ago I actually had not ordered from them in a few years which maybe I should have not quite assumed & jumped the gun at the time or possibly today was a off day but either way this place should never have a off day. I remember once in a while 20-25 years ago sometimes a little less rotisserie flavor was a fraction lighter then usual but today was the 1st time ordered over a period of over 25 years I have been coming here that it really lacked the pasty rotisserie goodness I'm used to it really was not there & rather dry as well. I was actually quite disappointed as a long time customer born & raised in Montreal. At the end of day since the times have changed in general in the past 5 years as we all knew it's not a surprise I have noticed this now at every restaurant at this point. The service still amazing though my buddy the driver I'm mentioning he has been their at least 25 years still gets your food there no more then 25 minutes & he has not changed he still coolest driver in town.

The best place for chicken in Montreal. Moist, juicy & the sauce, the best. The decor & the waitress uniform is like going back in time.
My best memory is bringing my grandmother back there a few years ago, as she lived on Girouard street in the 1950s, she said the recipe has not changed.
I have been eating here since the 60s, when i was a kid liveng not far away.Has not changed. Fast service, your seated & eating withing 5 minutes. they have lunch specials.I had water to drink she kept filling my glass, chicken breast ,french fries ,big cole slaw,2 sauce... $25.06 included a 15% tip
Chalet Bar-B-Q is one of the best places to get roast chicken here in the city. The last time I was here was probably a while ago but I hope to eat in this restaurant when this pandemic is over. From What I remembered. The service is decent because it was not as crowded as it used to be it was on a weekend as well but pretty busy. The chicken, fries side dishes were delicious & cooked to perfection. I had no issues with the food for dining in at the time. The last time I was there 5 years ago & it is one of my favorite chicken places in the city. The only thing is that it is pretty far for me since it is located close to downtown but in the N.D.G. area. However it is walkable from Villa-Maria & Vendome metro. There is also parking in the street & at the back. During the pandemic their times have changed & I believe they only accept takeout & delivery but no dining. 28 July, 2024 20:00. This Chalet BBQ is the best chicken place in the city. Pros: A) Our make server don't know his name is bilingual & very polite he is a male. B) The Cesar salad as a starter was good & simple & the chicken soup was hot & not like warm. Both were delicious. C) The chicken & baked potato were delicious & seasoned perfectly especially the chicken. D) The location is perfect as it's near the highway & not far from Vendome Metro. Cons: A) Washrooms is old & needs renovation. B) Parking is pretty tight but it's nice that they have parking for clients. Other than that. This a hidden gem & I want to comeback to visit & show tourists & visitors this chicken spot is the best in MTL. God Bless!!! In the future I hope to try & check it out. It was voted one of the best roast chicken restaurants by CTV & many chicken fans alike. A great recommendation & hope you guys can try it. One of the best roast chicken places in the 514 area.
If you want a super cozy vibe, the nicest staff, & the tastiest rotisserie chicken on the planet, then THIS IS YOUR PLACE. Hasn't changed since 1944 because when you hit max level, you stop leveling!

Best chicken breast & fresh coleslaw I ever had in a restaurant. The large cup of sauce is perfect & adds to their whole delicious ensemble. Awesome service, even if it was end of day, it was super friendly... you know when you want friendly service in a restaurant, treat them how you want to be treated & you get the respect right back. The waitress deserved her 20% tip! They are celebrating their 80th anniversary this year... found out yesterday evening that my friend Ken worked their as a teenager about 40 years ago... he was explaining to us how they used to make their coleslaw, BBQ Chicken & he still loves the place after all these years... After talking with our waitress everything is made just like back in the day! If you're looking for Montreal's best chicken, look no further... The decor inside is old school (1960's), but it has it's charm, reminded me of my childhood in the 80's. The lighting is a little dim, but it has its charm, it goes well with the design of the place. You feel like you walk in a Montreal 80 year old business... I'm not saying age is a bad, but in their case, it's what attests it's food quality... 80 years of perfecting the art of roasting chicken. I took a picture on their menu... nothing complicated, they KNOW their chicken! We are in 2024, not 1944, so it's normal that portions have changed, prices too... but how many places in 2024 in Montreal offer fresh delicious meals under 15$? I have no idea why I've waited so long to come taste this institution in Montreal? I will most definitely will be back & I hope they will still be around in 20 years to celebrate their 100th anniversary!
So hard to find places like this. I go for the lunch special & it's so cheap & good, service is professional, they are kid friendly. It's a wonderful blast from the past. There's even parking. It's so awesome I'd be devastated if it closed or changed
I have been coming here for more than 40 years as it was a family favorite. The chicken is tender & tasty, the FRIES are the best in Montreal, in my humble opinion. & THE SAUCE. I used to drink what was left when i was young. Not much has changed over the years EXCEPT for the size of the chicken they serve. i felt as if I was eating a baby chicken, the drumstick was so small!! They must have changed supplier. Charge more, but give us a normal size chicken leg, please. I will still go back, but will have to order two legs instead of one...

I have been eating from this establishment since I can remember. Nothing has changed, just their carrot cake, I would give it one star for the cream cheese icing, but the cake not the best.
