About us
Rotisserie Chalet Bar-B-Q opened its doors in August 1944. Over the years we have built a legendary reputation for the best roast chicken in the world. This really is the connoisseur's choice! We selectively buy wholesale chicken, always fresh and plump. Our chickens are slowly roasted in brick kilns on real maple charcoal. We ensure that all our chickens are gold and crisp on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. When served with our famous home-made dipping sauce, nothing compares. Simply delicious. One should note that the dinning room closes at 9PM. Only takeout section is open till 10PM. Chalet Bar-B-Q is what your Anthony Bourdain dreams are made of! Only a handful of places like this scream "Montreal" like Céline Dion. Chalet puts St-Hubert chicken & french fries to shame. In addition, their desserts will have you wet like a 12 yers old obsessed kid at summer camp.View more

I came in for dinner the other day & really enjoyed the food as usual however my waitress, Anne Marie, ruined the evening for me. I ate my meal in the dining room & then ordered some take out & she had the gall to tell me I didn't tip her enough based on the total bill! I explained to her that I had tipped her for serving me in the dining room but she didn't have any involvement with my take-out order so she shouldn't expect a tip for that. She seemed to be pleasant at first but then her greedy side came out. I won't be going back there again! Unfortunately it takes one bad experience to make you forget about the good ones.View more

Chalet Bar-B-Q is one of the best places to get roast chicken here in the city. The last time I was here was probably a while ago but I hope to eat in this restaurant when this pandemic is over. From What I remembered. The service is decent because it was not as crowded as it used to be it was on a weekend as well but pretty busy. The chicken, fries side dishes were delicious & cooked to perfection. I had no issues with the food for dining in at the time. The last time I was there 5 years ago & it is one of my favorite chicken places in the city. The only thing is that it is pretty far for me since it is located close to downtown but in the N.D.G. area. However it is walkable from Villa-Maria & Vendome metro. There is also parking in the street & at the back. During the pandemic their times have changed & I believe they only accept takeout & delivery but no dining. 28 July, 2024 20:00. This Chalet BBQ is the best chicken place in the city. Pros: A) Our make server don't know his name is bilingual & very polite he is a male. B) The Cesar salad as a starter was good & simple & the chicken soup was hot & not like warm. Both were delicious. C) The chicken & baked potato were delicious & seasoned perfectly especially the chicken. D) The location is perfect as it's near the highway & not far from Vendome Metro. Cons: A) Washrooms is old & needs renovation. B) Parking is pretty tight but it's nice that they have parking for clients. Other than that. This a hidden gem & I want to comeback to visit & show tourists & visitors this chicken spot is the best in MTL. God Bless!!! In the future I hope to try & check it out. This chicken place is one of the best in Montreal. The chicken is of good quality & well prepared-not dry nor flavourless like grocery chicken. The sauce is made with real chicken fat, not glucose or other chemical mix; also it is not overly salty, the kind you need to drink a galon of water after eating. The fries are made with real wholesome potatoes. Overall the chicken plates are worth it. However, what is beyond delicious is their poutine. It is the BEST that I have ever had in Montreal. I always make a point to come here on my trips to Montreal. My grandfather who I never met, passed away at a young age. He used to frequent this incredible restaurant & I feel like I keep his spirit alive by eating here. The food is always delicious & this time the leg lunch special was mouthwatering!!! Decided to try out the place with my boyfriend & was very disappointed with the food & the floor manager's customer service skill. We ordered the Chicken Leg with a coleslaw & a hot Chicken. The Coleslaw was more vinegary than creamy & was very soupy, the Chicken was fine but the gravy had a strange taste. When we complained to the manager about the quality of our food we were reprimanded for not asking for another meal instead of wanting a discount on top of getting excuses after excuses on why the meal wasn't to our taste. Gravy tasted weird? We used the same gravy for all our meals! When we said we didn't like the coleslaw we were told it's "not the one they usually use" which makes me wonder if it means they get them pre-made, & if yes why don't they make it in house? Anyway the waitresses were amazing but it is a shame the food quality isn't there & how we were treated when we pointed it out.View more

Alarmingly filled with people just as old as the places reputation, the waitress was very sweet & kind & even offered us refills since we clearly didn't enjoy our food, we barely touched our plates & they were mostly full by the time we were done, when we asked to talk to someone about the quality of the food & our poor experience (especially since our dinner for 2 was 50$) we were lectured about asking to change dishes next time & wait even longer to eat.
