First timers, stopped in on Keela based upon a random Google search as a way of kicking off our first night of the Montreal Jazz Festival & were not disappointed, not in the least.
The atmosphere is energetic warm & welcoming -- the food & drink pairing is beyond satisfying. The oysters on the half shell were a perfect way to get things started, complemented by a local Montreal craft beer & a cucumber infused summer time mocktail followed by a spectacular celery root carpaccio & melt in your mouth baked scallops.
Time for a house specialty cocktail named Anger & Resentment -- don't know the inspiration for this flavourful concoction, but it works & is likely cheaper than therapy it implies is needed.
To top off our first time culinary experience at Keela, we indulged in the fall off the bone baked dill pickle enhanced ribs. So good.
In conclusion, Keela is a gem in the heart of Montreal & we are better off for having experienced it.
Kudos to Lucy the bar keep for the evening ending shot of homemade Lemoncello
This place is a freaking GEM! Everything we tried was delightful. My absolute favourite was the roasted shrimp appetiser dish. It was full of flavour, the sauce was to die for, I just wanted to lick every drop off the plate.
The serving sizes are generous. The quality of food is top! The staff were friendly & attentive.
We were a party of four, started with a round of drinks, cocktails were very well balanced. Shared three appetiser, tartare, shrimp & burrata. All very delicious. Then got the steak special & a few share plates for mains. Dessert - carrot cake, a must have too! Again portions for dessert were generous.
Overall, this place was just bomb. Great feels as soon as you walk in, live music, fun vibes, lighting was moody but not too dark! Honestly a beautiful setting.
From the snacks during happy hour to the flatbreads, appetizers, mains & ice cream, everything was delicious. Johnny, Kristen & their staff are doing a great job of creating a warm atmosphere in which to enjoy delicious food & drinks. Can't wait to return!

Went here in september with my wife & baby son. To say the least, it was incredible.
Favorite restaurant/food/drink experience Ive had in all of Canada. Cornish Hen was possibly the best poultry Ive ever eaten.
Steak frites also some of the best Ive ever had. The filet was tender & as flavorful as a more marbled type of cut, which was unbelievable. The rye, mint, chartreuse cocktail also, I kid you not, was one of the best cocktails Ive ever had. I know, this all sounds unbelievable BUT believe it!! The service was top notch as well, we had a gentleman with a mustache & glasses as our server & he basically recommended everything we ended up ordering. Atmosphere felt lively & homey at the same time. Thank you again. This place was 11/10. Believe it!
I had a wonderful experience at this quaint little restaurant. Drinks & food were executed perfectly. The picture shows my octopus appetizer. Service was excellent
Needed a last-minute dinner for our family, & found Keela close to our hotel. Chose it based on the high Google reviews. It did not disappoint! All of our meals & drinks were fantastic. Service was quick & friendly. The inside of the restaurant has a great atmosphere, but the outside location isn't great. We were lucky to eat there when they had live music & it was fantastic. Prices were high, but the quality of the food we got was worth it. The desserts were phenomenal - make sure you leave room!
The reviews are not an exaggeration! 10/10 meal. Service, drinks & food were out of this world. the gem of the neighborhood & we already cant wait to go back!
