The food was authentic Italian food,
I loved the bread on the starter.
Real food for a fair price!View more
Restaurant Siciliana had a somewhat authentic Italian feel to it, with a cozy atmosphere. The food had great flavor, & I enjoyed the tortellini soup & chicken parmesan. However, the chicken was so thin that it ended up overcooked & a little hard around the edges.
Unfortunately, the experience was marred by some issues. Some of the staff were sitting at tables playing on their phones & just staring around, which made me feel uncomfortable. Additionally, the restaurant was filled with fumes from the brick oven & looked smokey. You could see the black char going up the brick oven & on the ceiling tiles.
Overall, I would not recommend Restaurant Siciliana if you are visiting Montreal.View more
Good Italian restaurant. I enjoyed my Bruschetta & Pesto.View more
What a fantastic way to ring in the New Year! Restaurant Siciliana was the perfect choice for our New Year's Eve celebration. Despite the busy night, the service was outstanding - attentive & friendly. The food was absolutely delicious, & the atmosphere was lively & festive. We were so impressed, & we highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Italian cuisine with a great ambiance.View more
A cosy authentic Italian restaurant. The crunchy bread rolls are delicious, pasta servings are very generous & the wood-fired pizza is very good.View more
Avoid the pasta with seafood. It didn't taste right, was not al dente & gave me a very bad upset stomach. Also, I was offered parmigiano with it which is heresy :-) ! The baked eggplant were ok. On the positive side, service is good, prices are not too high & the bread is made on the spot in the wood fired oven. Bottom line: not authentic Italian but will hit the spot, just don't order iffy stuff.View more
There are no Italians here, much less Sicilians. We had a calzone - the dough was too tough to cut with the knife, & veal scallopini - 4 small dark pieces which were actually beef, & barely chewable. The piccata sauce was good but didn't make up for the tough, tasteless meat. So sorry we fell for the red checkered tablecloths... & I'm not making this up!View more
If you want cheap food in the city, this is the place to go. Found it to be Canadian style Italian food. Ingredients were not good quality. Washrooms were very old & dirty. Waiter was very attentive.View more
Old Italian style restaurant offering pizza wood oven. Loved the atmosphere, giving me tony soprano vibes :)) budget friendly restaurantView more
So here the thing - service was great, nice vibe, classic home style Italian restaurant. HOWEVER - I received something tainted with peanuts & ended up in the hospital shortly after leaving. If you have a peanut allergy I would recommend you look elsewhere.View more
On vacation in Montreal, kids were craving for pasta for dinner, saw this place near by our hotel. I know the reviews weren't up there, but figured reviews aren't always accurate. Just like my previous experience in Brussels, a high google review restaurant but turned out to be a tourist trap. So this Italian restaurant was decent, 3.9 stars was just about right. We ordered Penne with pink sauce with meat balls, & chicken fettuccine Alfredo & a large Caesar salad. Everything turned out okay, only the meat ball was kinda flaky, it wasn't as good as traditional meat balls. Caesar salads were mediocre at best with bacon bites. Usually Caesar salads don't have bacon bites. But the ladies that took our order was friendly & nice. Which is a plus for services. But the restaurant really needs some update, as it feels like outdated pizzeria in the 1980s.View more
You don't necessarily go there for the food, because although it is good, what makes this restaurant great is the ambiance & the "directness" of the waiters. Never rude but to the point. With a real Italian ambiance, I'll keep going back for the firewood oven, the house wine by the pitcher & the table cloths.View more
Very nice atmosphere & old Italian style. The service is very fast, our waiter was very attentive. Fettuccine pasta was amazing. Veal cutlet was too salty. If you order from the table d'hote, which was reasonably priced, you'd get salad or soup of the day for appetizer + dessert, tea, or coffee on the main course.View more
Always sad to see restaurants advertising traditional Italian cuisine but then failing badly at it. The chianti also tasted like vinegar, I do not recommend!View more
Outstanding, casual, authentic, blue collar, down to earth, delicious, Italian cuisine & pizza, with a very attentive & super-friendly/caring staff. The food is definitely 4.25 star quality, but Google doesn't give me the option to select in between 4-5 stars. The prices are very reasonable (especially for a major city)! Nice sized portions too. Great prices. & friendly servers. Not much to complain about here. Perhaps we are spoiled, coming from NY, & it takes a heck of a lot to impress us with regards to Italian cuisine. Nevertheless, highly recommended. A+View more
