Pikliz consistently earns high praise for its authentic Haitian flavors, with the griot, djondjon rice, pikliz bowls, and other dishes delivering bold seasoning, tender meat, and satisfying portions for many diners, while the warm, welcoming service and cozy, inviting ambiance make the experience feel like a neighborhood spot even when crowded; most reviewers call it a standout in Montreal's Haitian scene and say they would return, though a few note small portions for the price, occasional dryness or overcooked items, and some nights when the noise level or service pace isn't ideal.
Literally the best service & the best food. I had the griot, rice, plantain & shrimp. The shrimp were my favourite! The lemonade was fantastic & the girls working offered excellent custom service. Perfect family owned restaurant - tables were set nice & a great breeze!
My only regret about this place is that I didn’t sit down to eat (got take out). It’s a small, cozy place that is well arranged so that couples & groups can fit comfortably. Decor is really nice, music is great but not too loud. The food, by the way, was REALLY good. Takeout portions were enough for 2 people to eat until full for 2 days. Could have easily stretched it to 3 if we wanted. Very tasty. Best of all was the customer service, & that’s saying a lot, because I only got take out. They took the time to ask me my name (order had only a number, no reference to my name) so that they could write it on the bag for me & call me by my name instead of a number. They were very friendly & seemed to be intuitively attentive to the needs of their patrons. Go ahead & see for yourself. I can’t wait to go back already.
Le service était vraiment agréable, la déco & la musique sont originale & ça rend l'expérience incroyable.
Le riz collé c'était mon coup de coeur je recommande
Delicious food at a reasonable price, loved the DJ there too. It’s a small place but didn’t feel cramped; it feels very intimate. The poulet frit & riz colé were delicious. Definitely will be back!
I'm all about value. & this restaurant is absolute value. Very decent prices for excellent quality food. The guy, the cash & the waiters are also super friendly. Highly recommended.
Fries are really good too

Very cute & quaint restaurant. Owner greeted us with a smile & a story, we ordered multiple appetizers, goat plate & grio poutine. Everything was delicious. The owner suggested we try the pear soda & grapefruit soda which were both excellent . The service was exceptional. We will definitely go back.
Food is really good! But i really don't think the prices are worth the portion sizes. I basically got a kids portion for 23$. Higher end restaurants even have bigger portions
I’m a true Haitian so I always try to find spots that has good Haitian food. Pikliz definitely hit the spot! Their kabrit is amazing. 10/10 recommend! Also we’re from Edmonton so I was really happy to find that place
Don’t be fool with the reviews. One thing the griyo meat was 10/10. However, everything is an extra ( sauce, plantin, macaronis, pikliz) & for half the price I’ve had far better…
The extra for the sauce was ridiculous, I had approx 2 table spoon of sauce.. not enough to coat the meat nor the rice & the rice was not it, not flavourful.
My wife & I wanted to try "real" Haitian food & decide to visit this little place. We arrived at 6:30 pm & the place was packed & loud. No one greeted us & after waiting a few minutes I asked a waiter how long it'll take to get us a table. She said she didn't know & didn't have a waiting list. We asked if we could seat outside & she said yes. After waiting another 10 minutes without even bothering to serve us water I went back inside & asked for the menu. I was pointed to a QR code in a window. We waited again for someone to take our order in vain so I got up again & asked an other waiter if he could take it which he did. After a few minutes he brought our drinks (Jamaican flavoured water with no alcohol since we don't drink), which was no more than a mix of syrup with water & ice in a cardboard cup. 20 minutes later our waiter came out & I asked her about our food. She said she would look into it. Another 10 minutes passed & I went inside to ask again. The waiter went to the kitchen & came back asking me to order again since the kitchen didn't have it. I asked her to cancel it & for the check. She charged $16 dlls just for our drinks!!! I was sure it was a mistake & told her so. She just smiled & said that there was no mistake!! Didn't even apologized!! If you decide to try this place make sure you ask for an inside table & prices for whatever you ask for. & be prepared to wait over an hour to be served if at all!
