I had really high expectations for Pichai, since it was on my restaurant bucket list for some time now. Sadly, it wasn't as good as I hoped. That being said, the Raw Scallops with Mint absolutely blew my mind. The Smoked Hake was also amazingly delicious. If that kind quality continued, I would've easily given Puchai five stars. Unfortunately, most of the next six dishes were so salty that they nearly ruined our meal. With each dish, the saltiness multiplies on your taste buds, building upon the discomfort in your mouth. I've spent a good amount of time in Thailand, eaten in fine Thai restaurants all over the world, (& I really like salt), but I've never had such salty Thai food. On top of that, the music was so loud that it was hard to have a normal conversation. To make matters worse, the food came much too quickly, they removed our plates the minute we finished, & then the bill came immediately after. Of course, all this made us feel rushed, as if they were trying to increase their turnover & profits. Overall, it wasn't a horrible experience, but I don't think we'll be returning.View more
My girlfriend & I came here on a whim & were sat at the bar. Very, very pleasant culinary experience. Huge, sexy wine list to accompany their menu. The atmosphere is a plus & the servers were pleasant & professional. Hoping to come back & try more of the menu!View more

Je suis pas du genre à poser des 1 étoiles. Alors cela sera 4 juste pour le fait de tenir un établissement de restauration par les temps qui courent : Merci ! Pour le reste j'aurai mieux fait de me payer une bonne bouteille de vin & un 30 g de caviar. Mon avis : c'est sucré comme une assiette de brunch dans beaucoup de plats & très dispendieux. Je mange vraiement mieux dans mon viet préféré. Le restaurant est super beau, l'ambiance jeune un peu trop détaché mets vite un vieux X gen comme moi mal à l'aise. La presque pinte de Dunham à 11.50 va calmer vos ardeurs, j'en aurai pris 2 ! C'est tellement bon la SOVY. La carte est réduite mais les plats excellents. Le concept du restaurant est de partager différents plats entre convives. Nous en avons pris 4 pour deux personnes & c'était suffisant. Petite note pour ceux qui mangent moins épicés, certains plats ne sont pas notés épicés mais le sont quand même. Il vaut mieux réserver sa table !View more

I went in not even sure what the menu had in store. I didn't do my homework. I didn't come prepared. But sometimes in life, it's when we least expect something that we are truly delighted. That was the case at Pichai. As a group of 6, we were recommended to order about 12-13 dishes. We got away with about 10 & everyone was full by the end. The flavors from the pork collar, scallops, pork belly & dumplings were surprising yet complementary. Dazzling pops of lime, cilantro & choy to round out the salty & the spicy meats. But the masterpiece, the coup de gras, the show-stopping number of the evening was the Egg... this was a capital "E" Egg - soft boiled & fried, dressed to the nines in a stunning savory sauce, cilantro & hot peppers. Massive kudos to the genius chefs that devised this Egg. This was the only dish we ordered twice because it was so amazing. I will be coming back for this Egg. The servers were beyond fantastic... amazingly detailed & swift. They explained the adventurous menu very well & made great suggestions. The ambiance was also great. We did shamelessly whipped out our phones to Shazam some songs playing over the PA. If you feel like eating amazing food with unique, delicate details, Pichai is the place.View more
