Absolutely amazing. A must-try Ethiopian/Erythrean restaurant. I had a combination of 6 meat & vegetable dishes on top of a large piece of injera, & every single dish was tasty, generous & well seasoned. It all paired perfectly with the injera. They also gave me some spicy powder to dip the food in, & it brought everything to the next level.
Although the meal was a bit pricy for one person (around $40), I left full & happy. The whole experience felt like I was travelling to another country.
Best Ethiopian in Montreal, & we tried all of them! Love the new decor updates too! As vegans we love this place
A nice surprise. It doesn't look much from the exterior but everything there was great. Eritrean restaurant with its vibe, no fancy bell or whistle. The food was great, the service amazing. Will come back for sure!
Totally worth the wait. Delicious authentic food. Friendly service & quiet atmosphere!
Le plat végétarien était exceptionnel ainsi que la crêpe injera! Belle découverte
Incredible. Missed Erithrean / Ethiopian cuisine & this one did it for me!
Amazing food! Best Ethiopian food that I've had in Montreal or Toronto. My friend & I shared a veggie combo & each dish was so flavourful & delicious. We also got a mango smoothie, which was really tasty. The woman who works there (I assume she's the owner) was also really nice & friendly.
I was visiting from Toronto & craving some good Habesha food while in Montreal. After some searching, I found Nakfa Restaurant & decided to give it a try; & I'm glad I did! I ordered the combo for one, which came with a generous mix of meat & vegan options: white tibs, key tibs, shiro, cabbage, greens, salad, & a spicy red key siga wot called zigni. Everything was delicious & well-prepared; full of flavor & cooked perfectly. The portion was just right for one person, & I also enjoyed a nice cup of tea with the meal.
The service was good, though there's a bit of room for improvement. The space is quite small, & it wasn't easy to find a seat. I found the price a bit higher than what I'm used to in Toronto; I paid around $50 including a 15% tip; not sure why the difference, but the quality made up for it.
Overall, it was a great experience & a solid spot for authentic Habesha food in Montreal. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a taste of Eritrean/Ethiopian cuisine in the city!
The owner was warm & welcoming who took great care in presenting her food. The brown meat stew in the centre was especially tasty. She checked on us frequently & made sure we had enough injera to swoop up all the delicious stew.
