A charming and quaint italian restaurant in the Villeray neighbourhood where the atmosphere is joyful and homy. The homemade pasta-focused menu changes seasonally as it highlights the freshest ingredients available. At the head of the kitchen, Luca Cianciulli offers a very italo-montrealer menu based on quality of ingredients, as does true italian cuisine. The wine list, curated by Catherine Picard is constantly evolving along side the menu and leans toward natural selections.

Pasta is the star here. Outstanding service & food, well suited for either a date or dinner with friends. 1 appetizer + 1 main dish is plenty of food for 1 person, & all dishes can be easily shared. It's a bit on the cozy / casual side & it wears its atmosphere really well, but do not expect the chic quietness of an upscale French restaurant.View more

Absolutely loved this place! Not only were waiters super nice, but they & the kitchen were very accommodating to my allergies. We had the set menu, but they still made a few different dishes to accommodate my restrictions & they were really really fantastic. Worth a try!View more

I recently visited Restaurant Moccione on Saint-Denis Street with my girlfriend, & it was a delightful experience. The atmosphere is cozy & inviting, which made for a very pleasant dining experience. We arrived just 30 minutes after opening, & the place was already full, which was a pleasant surprise. Fortunately, we were able to sit at the bar. We ordered two drinks, & they were excellent. The food arrived incredibly fast, within 15 minutes, which was a nice change from the usual longer waits. We placed our order with the bartender, who was also very attentive in providing suggestions for both drinks & food. Her recommendations were appreciated & added to the overall experience. We highly recommend the dishes we had, & I've included pictures of them in this review. The environment was charming & comfortable, making the entire experience very enjoyable. I highly recommend giving Moccione a try for anyone looking for a great Italian meal in a warm setting.View more

Every fish we had here was standout! They have seasonal dishes as well as some year round classics & you can't go wrong with either. We had lobster pasta which was fantastic & I don't think you can go wrong with any of the pasta options. The service is also attentive without being overbearing! Honestly one of my best dining experiences ever. We felt a very unpretentious, very warm feeling from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. Friendly professional staff in the front & amazing food! As we were eating my wife & I, we were already talking about the fact that we can't wait to come back again to try something else off the menu. Beautiful, delicious dishes that pop both with creativity & flavors. I would have given it a ten star out of five if I could have. A must try restaurant, to try it is to fall in love. Impeccable service & food. Food was on the saltier/very savoury side. Lots of olives & marinated vegetables in the menu. Favorite dishes were the beef carpaccio, tuna tartare & octopus. Cocktails & mocktails were also delicious. Although everything was great, Moccione is not my fav Italian spot in Montreal... there are too many good resto! Would still recommend- perfect for a cute date, or even for a group dinner with friends or family.View more

Grilled Octopus, Beef Carpaccio, Gnocchi, Straccuatella de Bufflonne, Endives, Scallop Crudo . I have to say that towards the ends of our 2023 my fiance & I both agreed that @moccione.restaurant gave us the best meal of the year & our favourite special occasion dinner that we had shared together to date. We can see why this restaurant is so critically acclaimed online with a 4.8 star ranking with over 640+ reviews all claiming as such. I had been meaning to try Moccione for a number of years now finally took the plunge for my partners birthday & we were absolutely blown away. Located on St Denis street this restaurant has a feel of homeyness with a touch of eligance that has a nice & inviting atmosphere. We wanted to get alot of dishes as it was our first time, the staff there were very knowledgeable about the menu. You can tell they've been there a while & stay for the good vibe. We got alot of there traditional staples like the Octopus, Carpaccio & Gnocchi along with some others that will unfortunately be gone one day & replaced with other amazing dishes. Every course was honestly better then the next, leaving us wanting for more in every bite... We got a total of about 8 dishes that night & a couple of delightful & well balanced cocktails that still leave me speechless. The staff from the bar were also so friendly & really creative with there concoction! 😉 All in all a 11/10 FOODGASMIC 💦 would definitely be back asap!View more

Great restaurant! Service was very attentive, friendly & efficient. The food was of high quality & absolutely delicious from start to finish. Both pasta dishes we had were so good & not at all oily or salty as opposed to many other restaurants. To my surprise the calamari was my favourite dish of the night! They were fresh, perfectly cooked & the tomato sauce that came with it just really tied the whole dish together. Cocktails were also impressive & our waitress made great wine recommendations. Overall a great experience & worth the splurge. Would definitely recommend.View more

Food is not bad, but not enough to justify the price you pay.
(I'm not from Montréal, so this is based on my experience from Italian restaurants in many countries within the same price)
They reuse the same sauces in different dishes, so the flavours are kind of repeated. I feel like for a restaurant in this price range, they could make a bit more effort for the sauces. For this reason, I will not go back until the menu is changed.
My favourite dishes were the gnocchi (7/10) & the pistachio gelato.
I feel a bit bad giving this rating because I LOVE their pizza place.
