Comfort FoodSandwichesPoutine
Since its opening, Le Bidon has been serving a typical snack bar menu. True to its success, we have decided to keep the same winning recipes, while reinventing ourselves over the years with new items. During your visit, you will see that the restaurant has retained its rustic charm with barrels serving as seats. Whether it's a quick lunch or a special weekend dinner, we are here for you every day of the week. Proudly serving you since 1972.

Review Summary

Le Bidon is described as a classic fast casual spot in Valleyfield where portions are generous and the poutine is the standout, with praise for the classic and bacon varieties, crispy fries, and a thick flavorful sauce, although a few reviews mention saltiness or inconsistencies in some orders. Burgers and hot dogs are generally solid, offering simple, tasty fare that evokes a nostalgic feel. Service ranges from fast and friendly to slow and impersonal, with some visits mentioning order mix ups or a lack of smiles. Online ordering is convenient for some, but lines and demand can slow service, and payment is often cash or Interac only rather than credit cards. The decor has a cozy cantine vibe that adds to a casual, no frills atmosphere. Overall, Le Bidon appears to be a reliable go to for generous portions and satisfying comfort food, with poutine as a recurring highlight and occasional notes about consistency and service.

Super great restaurant! Un des meilleur casse-croute de Valleyfield

This charming fast-food gem is worth the drive, offering a nostalgic taste of classic Quebecois comfort food. We couldn't resist ordering all the necessary items. Naturally, we had to try the signature burger, "le bidon." This straightforward burger is elevated by the addition of mouthwatering maple bacon that adds a sweet & savory twist. It's a burger done right-simple yet utterly satisfying. No trip to a casse-croûte would be complete without poutine, & it did not disappoint. Their poutine was a classic-perfectly balanced with a generous portion of cheese curds & rich gravy that complemented the fries flawlessly. It's the kind of poutine that makes you want to savor every last bite but we weren't able to finish it as even the small size was huge! We also explored their menu of delicious hot dogs, which offered a variety of options that would please any hot dog lover. One item that caught our attention was the "pogo italien." While the name might sound silly, we were pleasantly surprised! This unique take on a classic dish added an unexpected delight to our meal. As we enjoyed our feast, we couldn't help but wish there were more old-school casse-croûtes like this in Montreal. However, we are grateful for the opportunity to drive out & experience this slice of tradition. If you're craving authentic fast food with a touch of nostalgia, this is a destination worth seeking out. We left with full bellies & happy hearts.

Excellent casse-croûte. La nourriture très bonne. Il serait intéressant de prolonger les heures d'ouverture du soir. Pour cette raison je mets 4 étoiles
