Kamúy delivers a vibrant Haitian and Caribbean dining experience with warm hospitality, attentive service, and flavorful, beautifully presented dishes. Thoughtful cocktails and a lively atmosphere that blends jazz undertones with Caribbean rhythms create a welcoming setting that invites guests to return.

What a unique culinary experience of an underrepresented cuisine - modern Caribbean. Delicious & wonderfully spiced dishes. We had the hummus, shrimp & braised pork to start, absolutely delicious, the pork was so tender & paired very well with the plantain fritters & vinegar coleslaw. Mains consisted of vegetable curry, jerk chicken & the lamb shank, all seasoned to perfection & comforting, I really felt the love. Do yourself a favour & order the sweet potato dessert, a mix between pumpkin pie & spice cake, perfect for fall & winter. Coffee with coconut milk & rum is a must. Friendly, courteous & quick service in a cozy & homey atmosphere, music not too loud (this is a pet peeve of mine & this place absolutely passed the test). Even though the restaurant was full, there was a nice calm vibe throughout the entire service. The owner came to our table & chatted with us which is always a nice touch, definitely recommend for an intimate dinning expérience.
We tried this restaurant for MTLàTable. Everything was great at first including the first course. We had to wait a long time to receive our mains only for them to arrive warm. That said, the taste of the lamb was good. I had initially ordered a bottle of sparkling water but I only received it when asked again for it. Same thing for my friends glass of wine. Finally we had to wait so long to receive the dessert because they made a mistake in the kitchen & even longer to receive our bill. I had to wave down another waiter to ask for our bill. The atmosphere is very cozy but a little too warm & dark. You can't really see what you're eating if you go for a later reservation. Overall, during the first course I was thinking to myself that I would definitely come back. Unfortunately, at the end of the night my thoughts weren't the same.
I ate at Kamuy during Mtl a table. The food was amazing. The portions are very generous. I took home a doggy bag. The staff were friendly. We will definitely return.
We tried this place for Mtlatable & the location is unique & off the main part of the street. The ambiance is very nice however a little hard to see menu as it was very dark inside with only one small candle on the table. The servers are nice & the chef was also present to make sure customers were enjoying their experience. We ordered from the 50$ menu which had a 3 course meal, appetizer, main & dessert. The appetizer I had was the jerk shrimp, I didn't taste the jerk & cabbage was a little undercooked. The main course I had lamb stew but as you can see from the picture it was quite raw & I did not enjoy at all. I was offered another main in its place. The dessert was basic but good, reminded me of an undercooked brownie. I did enjoy the place but I don't think I would go back.

I am probably going to spell it wrong, but the "griot" was amazingly good. It's one meal I like to eat from time to time & this one was amazing. Tender & crispy outside. Corosol juice is a noce discovery & a Chef's Paul Sour is just sour enough with a nice rhum touch. The jerk chicken will satisfy most people who loves spiced food like me. The chef Paul Toussaint came himself to our table to ask avout our experience. I can only recommend this place! We will go again ;)
2024: got the accras, tamales, & the jambalaya djeon djeon. Everything was delicious. Creole espresso martini was good but nothing special. 2022: Got the Dombrey sweet potato dumplings with octopus & coconut sauce, & the Daisi des Caraïbes to drink. Both were absolutely perfect. I just really wish they'd put more effort into drink presentation as it was just served in a black cup. Also paper towels to dry your hands in the washroom was literally just a brown roll on a ledge. Considering the price, I feel like those are easy things to improve.

Great friendly service with interesting tasty food. Servings are big enough to fill you up but not so big as to throw half of it away. Prices very reasonable, very well worth a visit.... or two. Highly recommended.
Food was spot on. Very clean non greasy. The pork was on point & the fact I got to have a Canadian dish in Pountine with a Haitian twist was an awesome experience. The drinks were nice & strong something Montreal lacks when it comes to booze. The staff was nothing but nice to my wife & young daughter. Thanks for the memories.
