Review Summary

Restaurant Jade is described as an all you can eat buffet where tax and tip are included, offering good value and a wide variety that appeals to families. Reviews note that the quality can be uneven, with some dishes greasy or underseasoned, while standouts like certain dumplings, won ton soup, and shrimp are praised. Several comments mention oiliness and heaviness, and some deep fried items are overcooked or chewy. Cleanliness and upkeep are recurring concerns, with references to less than ideal bathrooms and decor that feels dated. Several writers point out that the selection has shrunk since the pandemic and that rotating dishes would help keep the buffet more appealing. There is also a plant based lane noted by vegans, indicating some accommodation for different diets. Overall the place is viewed as a budget friendly option with mixed impressions on food quality, balancing price and variety against freshness and polish.

I'm a big fan of Chinese food, but I found this restaurant quite disappointing. For just $25, you get all-you-can-eat, but unfortunately, that means sacrificing quality. Sadly, they didn't do justice to my favourite soups, which was a letdown. Nearby restaurants are offering better quality food, & my curiosity about this place didn't quite pay off. I wouldn't recommend it.

Honestly so worth it! Really good Cantonese buffet. Not like Americanized Chinese, had some really authentic options. Still really cheap but such good options, like congee & wonton noodle soup made to order. Left supperrrr full. Had no problems, not a fine dining experience but definitely good value!

For $21 USD, its worth. Sure its not some fancy diamond encrusted resturant BUT this is the most authentic Chinese buffet you can. Im just glad its not some cheesy asian resturant called'wok n roll' or lotus garden where its $25 for frozen fried rice.

Old, vintage, looking decorations probably belonged on some unknown 90s chinese Kung fu movie.

Don't get me wrong, the food is very subpar but this is so authentic that food doesn't even matter anymore.
Pull up with ur boys, drink a bunch of Chinese beer, & eat shitty Chinese food. The waiter was also pretty chill.

I wish it was legal to smoke inside too, like a Bruce Lee flick.

Will definitely come back if im out & about drunk as hell

Lots of food options, some were quite delicious but others not so much. Service was excellent (waiters constantly took away empty dishes & refilled water). Great atmosphere, dining area was clean. Price was very reasonable considering it was all you can eat. If you're just looking to fill your stomach with Chinese fast food, this is a perfect place to go. If you are looking for higher quality cuisine then you might want to look elsewhere.

$25/adult-including tax & tips- for all inclusive buffet of Chinese food. Good: hungry but do not care of quality. Had lots of fair sized shrimps, broccoli & some veggies dishes were great! Coffee & tea included, many choices of meats. Negatives: quality is fair, too many fried options, juices were just sugar & coloured waters (not real juice at all!), only a couple of desserts options. Sushi's were poorly made & mostly made of rice. Definitely a forgettable eating experience! (My wife says we should NOT forget!)

The only reason to come here is to eat cheaply! Most likely the worst Chinese buffet I have been to but it is cheap so you get what you're paying for!

It's a great Chinese Buffet. The food was fresh & kept coming out & you could stay & eat a lot. Absolutely worth the price. Would definitely go back! I'm only not giving 5 star because I reserve that for stellar stellar restaurants & food but this is super close. I would go back right now if I could. 😊 10/10 will go back.

I personally liked it, & for 25 dollars a person its not a bad deal. That to say it may not cater to everyone's taste. For classic chinese food you order online they have plenty, but they also have more western foods like fries, pizza, hotdogs & potatos. Free orange drink (like a sunny d) & oolong tea. Lots of shrimp & sushi. Meats were very tender & good tasting. Overall a good spot if there is nothing else available. Vegetarian section with tofu, but for people with nut allergies I find its hard to see the ingredients.

Just a kind of Chinese buffet. But missing important things. Service not that friendly , I went at noon & payed 21 dollars in advanced before check the meal. Not too much options. I mean food was fine, but in a China town, there are many places worth visiting than this.

This is the worst Chinese restaurant anywhere in the world. The restaurant was dirty, smelling & abysmally unhygienic. The food was horrible, stale & tasteless. The bathroom was worst then you can imagine. My family & I arrived from Toronto to spend the weekend in Montreal (the weekend of December 29, 2023). We wanted a buffet & then opted for a Chinese restaurant. We searched for a Chinese restaurant online & made the morbid choice of choosing Jade (based on their false rating. The experience is horrible all through. The whole place was unhygienic. When we demanded for a hot-towel, the attendant rudely showed us the toilet. The toilets - ware the worst toilets you can see or imagine anywhere. I am actually surprised that the City of Montreal allows this restaurant to be operational. It is criminal to allow them to exist. Don't be fooled by the appearance of the variety of food on display. They are inedible. My kids had food poisoning immediately after eating from there. The fruits were stale & not anywhere fresh, the ice cream & what they called juice were just poison to say the list. I will advise you not to even venture in there. They are a fraud!
