Restaurant h3, under the direction of Chef Jean-Sébastien Giguère (Le Coureur des Bois and La Cabane du Coureur), offers an accessible culinary experience that celebrates the richness of Quebec’s terroir while being supported by one of the most beautiful wine cellars in the province. Located on the 2nd floor of the Humaniti Hotel in downtown Montreal, this place of discovery highlights the seasonality and rhythm of our climate, enhancing the magnificent local products.

This review is for the lounge. The food & drinks are excellent, but unless you're sitting right at the bar the service is excruciatingly slow. Last time I went, I asked to be sat in a quiet corner so I could converse with my friend who was joining me later. Staff would pass by me & ignore me, & when I did manage to get someone's attention, it would take forever to get my drink. At one point it took an hour between two cocktail orders... If you know you have clients sitting out of the bartender's line of sight, you should have waiters checking on them periodically. The place wasn't even full, I counted about 10 people in the lounge so there was no reason for the drinks to take this long. I might try the restaurant to see if the service is more attentive, but I wouldn't go back to the lounge unless there was room at the bar, seems to be the only way to get swift service.View more

The omelette was the best I've ever had-fluffy, flavourful, & cooked to perfection. Their espresso macchiato was a standout; a drink that's notoriously hard to perfect, yet they absolutely nailed it with rich, balanced flavour & smooth texture. Excellent place. Service was attentive but not intrusive, the menu selections for lunch were good, though a few more options wouldn't be unwelcomed. The quality of the food was excellent. I would rate the food quality 5 & overall 4.5 (due solely to the adequate but limited options) if google allowed me to. The wine suggestions were spot on. Overall highly recommend.View more

Every time I eat at this restaurant, I have a wonderful time. The food is on a different level from what you can usually get in Montreal, from the amuse bouche to the dessert to the main course, everything is exquisite. & the service is really perfect, the service team is very attentive & pleasant. & the cocktails are great. Two of us had the 5 course & one had the ala carte menu. Filet was cooked perfectly. Each dish was very tasty with nice mix of flavors. Pace was just right. Attentive service. Relaxing modern atmosphere with appropriate subdued lighting for a fine restaurant. Very much recommended. I am a 5 million mile flyer so have visited many fine restaurants. It was a delightful experience to have dinner here. Our friend invited us to eat here for the tasting menu. It locates in the heart of Montreal. The atmosphere here is cozy & lively. It gives us a great moment to relax. The staffs were attentive & knowledgeable which gave us an exceptional service experience. They provided excellent explanation & recommendation throughout the meal. We tried variety of dishes which came with different wine. They were complementing the meal perfectly. We had our dessert in the wine cellar which is one of the biggest wine cellar in Montreal. It was pretty impressed me. It is definitely worth to try.View more

via Libroh3 is a newer restaurant with few reviews. We were delighted with the whole experience. Service was attentive without being overbearing. Our food was beautifully presented, interesting & most of all delicious. The room is pleasant & has a wonderful street scape view of the square outside for its second floor vantage point. If I were to offer a criticism I would suggest the very extensive wine list could be edited down from its imposing 29(?) pages. That said I was impressed by the interesting wines offered. Not the usual restaurant sort of stuff.

Alec, the bartender was amazing. He was knowledgeable, engaging, super friendly, attentive & just an all around great guy. We had three plates, the burger, the house frittes & hamachi. Everything was great, the burger especially. The hamachi was on the small side, (we were fairly warned) but still extremely tasty. On a busy Saturday night, Alec created a fantastic atmosphere in the bar & had everyone talking with each other having a great time. It was a great experience we will always remember, our first night in Montreal.View more

We had booked a dinner elsewhere for a retirement party & it was cancelled short notice. H3 was able to accommodate a group of 16 at the last minute & gave us an experience that far surpassed expectations. The food was exceptional & the service staff attentive not intrusive so the group could visit/talk. The ambiance was really nice & everyone said this was the best meal they've had out in awhile. That says alot as it is Montreal! Duck magret & the cod dish were favourites as well as the tasting menu. Well priced.View more

via LibroSunday Brunch on 9/3 our last day of 5 night stay at Humaniti & the preparation, presentation & taste of the Eggs Benedict with shrimp & Tartine platters were top notch. The manager on duty was very attentive to all the patrons & supported the friendly & professional wait staff. We also had dinner here our 1st night & service & food was also superb. Consistency is the reason I will book Humaniti & reserve Restaurant H3 again during another visit to Montreal in October.

Being small, it allows intimacy & feels comfortable! i enjoyed the overall atmosphere, with lovely colours & beautiful lights!
This is just my personal preference, but I would like to see, in elegant establishments such as this one, tables covered with tablecloths rather than not covered! I know it is a matter of trends & styles but class is something that is beyond these!
The food is tasty, very nice presented, a pleasant mix of flavours & colours. The service was discreet, quick & attentive.
The list of wines & spirits is generous, for all budgets & tastes!
Overall, expensive but a good choice for a special occasion!

Yesterday, I had an amazing arctic char tataki as an appetizer followed by an impressive squash risotto with halloumi. Service is attentive & friendly. I`ll be back for sure.

via LibroWhat a beautiful evening! The front & back of house staff combined to make the evening wonderful. The space is comfortably designed with interesting artistic lighting at the bar. Floor to ceiling windows on 3 sides make the space bright & take advantage of the ground level ‘fire & fog' art installation across the street. The wine cellar is large, structurally appealing & full of interesting surprises, served with just the right amount of aplomb & discrete knowledge by the sommelier. The food was intricate & fun, full of subtle flavour & farm to table floral goodness befitting of the season. Unlike some more traditional French menus, the use of cream, sauce & cheese was very moderate & allowed the fresh food & raw materials to shine through! Our server was a perfect balance of attentive & absent for this meal. Charming, delicious, & comfortable yet not overwrought. A beautiful evening out.
