Grinder restaurant is located on Notre-Dame street, in the heart of Griffintown. Indeed, this neighborhood located in the southwest of Montreal is dynamic and promising; residential and commercial projects are already underway.
The original decor screams Zébulon Perron (Furco, Buvette à Simone, Philémon). He created a comfortable and warm restaurant, kitchen and raw bar. Grinder characterizes itself by vintage and modern elements such as glass and metal.
On the menu, raw & cooked items: tartares, tatakis, ceviches, carpaccios, etc. Also on the menu, steaks and grilled or braised pieces of meats, all to be shared. Grinder also offers a variety of fish and seafood, served cooked or raw as well. More than a simple steakhouse, all food lovers will find something to their liking among their selection of fresh products.
A 100% of their wine list consists of privately imported wines, always changing with the seasons, and of course focusing on wines produced while respecting nature.

J'ai passé une soirée mémorable au Grinder pour mon Bachelorette party le 16 mai dernier. Je tiens à souligner l'excellent service de Jacob notre serveur & de son acolyte Max. Ils étaient attentifs à nos demandes & ont été des plus généreux avec nous.
Encore une fois, une soirée WOW!

Nous avons passé un bon moment dans ce restaurant. L'entrecôte à partager pour deux était vraiment délicieuse. Les accompagnements également (pomme au four & champignon, un régal).
Le restaurant est bien décoré & chaleureux.
Lors de notre réservation, la table n'était que disponible pour deux heures. Attention lorsque la viande prend environ 30 min à cuire cela peut être un court pour bien profiter. La serveuse que nous avions était très agréable.
Par contre, la musique est beaucoup trop forte & c'est compliqué de s'entendre à certains moments.
Le prix est standard pour un restaurant du quartier & pour la qualité de la viande.
Ate here our first night in Montreal & it really set the bar high for the rest of the stay. The food was amazing, had the Short rib, hanger steak, green beans, Brussels, & a side of 3 scallops. The short rib came with a perfect slaw which tasted similar to Vietnamese dishes Ive had before. Only call out would be drop the green beans, they lacked seasoning, especially when compared to the Brussels (which were delicious). For dessert we had the bread pudding & it was the perfect non-fussy finish to a very rich meal.
The service was great, very attentive & would 100% go back if we had time.
The only downside was the table location, we were 10minutes late so maybe thats why, but seated in a spot that you couldn't see much of the rest of the restaurant, which sucks for people watching. Didn't dampen the actual meal through.

On était un gros groupe, donc certains d'entre nous avons pris le combo tomahawk en surf & turf à partager. Les petits à-côtés étaient délicieux : aligot, choux de Bruxelles, champignons.
Le service n'était pas des plus rapide; on commençait à avoir faim à un certain point lors de notre attente.
On a eu une service impeccable, déjà grâce a notre serveur ( avec petit moustache qui pense être mécano avec) he was very sweet. la nourriture est très bonne, vraiment on reviendrai à 100% je recommande sans hésiter..
Une excellente découverte ! Le service était impeccable, particulièrement grâce au serveur à la moustache qui s'est occupé de nous avec beaucoup de gentillesse. Un autre serveur, également très sympathique, a pris soin de vérifier qu'il n'y avait pas de bacon dans mon plat.
Côté cuisine, la mojito était excellente & leur burrata était tout simplement délicieuse & très rafraîchissante. Tout était savoureux ! Je recommande sans hésiter & je reviendrai certainement pour cette belle expérience

A truly outstanding experience. From the delicious tomahawk to the tuna ricecakes, mediterrean salad & lobster tails -- cooked to perfection. Amazing music & vibe made it super fun. Special thanks to our wonderful server, Sadya, who made this a very special night for our son at McGill.
This is our second time & Grinder in Montreal absolutely exceeded expectations. We started with the burrata paired with aubergine cream-perfectly balanced with apple vinegar & chili flakes-& a bluefin tuna tartare that was incredibly fresh with a standout marinanation & sauce.
For mains, everything hit. The 9 oz bavette was cooked beautifully & full of flavor, the Grinder burger was tender & juicy, & the octopus with crispy potatoes was honestly out of this world. Even the sides were memorable-the baby sprouts were insanely good, & the creamy bacon potatoes were just as impressive.
For dessert, I tried pudding chômeur for the first time, & it was unforgettable. The rich buttery texture, combined with the sweet syrup & vanilla ice cream, made it one of the best desserts I've ever had.
The atmosphere really ties it all together: friendly & attentive service, great music, & one of the best IPA beers I've had in Montreal.
At around $80 CAD per person, it's absolutely worth it. I'll be coming back every time I'm in Montreal.

Par contre service; ca été assez lent & immédiatement lorsqu'on a terminé notre assiette , bouteille vin pas terminée ils ns ont mis dehors pcq le 2hrs allouées étaient terminées !!! Au prix on paye c'est insultant!!
& personne a notre arrivée nous a souligné que notre reservation était de 2hrs.
