Amazing food & very friendly staff!
Tried the haemuljang (seafood platter), by itself found it a little salty, but with the rice & the seaweed chips the balance was prefect.
Will be back to try the sotbap next timeView more

the fried chicken (dakgangjeon) was super good it surprised me!! beef tartare (yukhwe) & beef noodle (yukgaejang) were also rly good. the gimbap too but feels kinda small for the price
but we mainly came for the raw seafood platter (haemul jang) which was $90 at MP & none of us rly liked it. it was either too salty or slimey or just not to our taste
we reserved & service was rly good, they took the time to explain each dish & how to eat itView more

In addition to Korean BBQ & Korean fried chicken, we can now enjoy authentic Korean food in Verdun. Giwa's menu is not large, but every dish is delicious. We went there twice & tried almost everything on the menu. Our favorites were the gimbap, beef gimbap, & chocolate brownie.View more

Hidden gem. If you're tired of the typical korean restaurant food in Montréal, this is the place to go.
Also if you like marinated crabs, shrimp or whatever, this is the best place to go in Montréal. All appetizers were bomb (especially the gochu twigim & mulhwe).
Their main dishes ofc is also nice since they bring a bunch of side dishes along with a soup & it changes every week apparently. The portion was also filling. They also got soju & korean rice wine as well.

Fantastic experience!
We had an amazing time at this new Korean restaurant! Even though it's only been open for a month, everything felt smooth & welcoming. The service was exceptional-Shaun took great care of us, explaining each dish in detail & even guiding us on the best way to enjoy them. It made the experience feel personal & authentic. The food was fresh, flavorful, & beautifully presented. You can tell a lot of care goes into both the cooking & the customer experience. We'll definitely be coming back-& bringing friends!
The only downside was that it was a little hard to have a conversation because of the noise.View more

A bit below expectation to be honest. The marinated seafoods are too salty & can't taste any freshness. Too much soy sauce & lack of depth in flavor.
The Sotbap has very few thin slices of beef. It seems small in portion & too cooked. Flavor is average. Would not recommend.
Desserts are better though. Both the chocolate brownie & ice cream have interesting Korean twists to them.View more

I want to love this place more than I did! The seafood platter was a very tiny amount of food for the cost (MP, $85) & the flavours were underwhelming - It left both of us totally unsatisfied & had no sides or accompaniments. The appetizers were delicious but also very small
