I don't want anything fancy, I just want good food to have with friends & this place did that. Went late at night because I saw they're open until midnight & the staff were really nice (complimented my debit that I have stickers on which was sweet) & the portions were huge! Will be coming back again ☺?View more
Not good service as expected for a Chinese restaurant, but I at least expect food to be good. Have to ask for ice water, not refilling it. When asked if certain food contains peanuts, waiter just annoyingly said no. We order 1/2 a roasted duck, it came out BLACK & DRY. It was old & they re-deep refry it. When I told the lady, she just said she would mention to the owner, that's all. A guy brought our noodle out, it was the wrong type but we started eating anyways thinking oh well, no surprise. However, he came back & said oh, I gave you the wrong dish. He asked us the put the food back onto the plate so he could give it to the right customer, but we already started eating. He ended up took that dish away & proceeded to give it to the other customer.View more
When everything else is closed, this place is open. The number of Chinese tourists eating here may be testimony to its authenticity or just a coincidence becauas this place is open late. Food was fantastic. Fixed price hot pot dinner makes choosing easy if you have a group of 2 or 4.View more
As a non-Chinese person, you really shouldn't expect much friendliness from the staff in these types of more traditional Chinese restaurants. You should expect absolutely delicious food & believe me that's what you'll get here!View more
Great Restaurant with food that is appreciated by Chinese tourists. So it must be good.View more
One of the best Chinese restaurants I've tried!
The food is great. The prices are very reasonable.
Definitely a place to try!View more
In typical Chinese restaurant fashion, you need to signal the server when you want attention. They don't come over & ask if you need anything. The fried seafood platter was a hit, as were the stir fried greens. & the hot & sour soup. Really, everything we ordered was good. Also head down the street to get some Dragon Beard Candy afterwards.View more
Probably the best Chinese restaurant I've eaten at across Europe, Australia, & North America!View more
Food was great, Service is really good & staff was friendly, the atmospheres fair but I would still highly suggest it if you're into a good Chinese meal & you're downtownView more
It cant get more authentic & delicious than this joint! If you're curious enough to talk to your waiter & find out about the real authentic chinese dishes on their menu, you shall be mind blown. For instance, I had the steamed ginger chicken, watercress & steamed garlic eggplant.. healthy perfection! Yum !View more
The food is really good, the price is not bad (about $15-20 per large plate). The food comes out very fast! I didn't notice them automatically adding a tip but the service was definitely bad. We had to specifically ask for chopsticks (none were given to us) & we had to ask for water three times before being given any (we only ended up being able to drink halfway through eating). Many people have mentioned the female server with short hair & glasses, I agree that her attitude was a bit curt. There seems to be a difference with how they treat Chinese people v.s. white people, so maybe the service would be good if you are Chinese. Overall I would definitely go again, just be prepared to ask for things specifically (possibly multiple times) & expect slightly weird service.View more
The first thing I have to say about this restaurant is the wok Hei is on point. You can't go wrong with the beef padsew. The smoky flavour that the wok gives, you can't find it everywhere. The salt & pepper calamari are just fingerlicious. The spiciness combines with the wok hei is so fragrant. I like to have the snow flower fat beef hot pot. The beef is so tender, but sometimes the cut is too tick. The small pot can easily feed 3 adults. In terms of service, it can be improved. Don't really expect top-notch customer services in Chinatown. The decor is typically chinese restaurant decor. The price is very good for the quality & quantity.View more
Tasty food! Came here just shy of midnight as I hadn't gotten dinner earlier & there weren't that many options open nearby. I asked the owner & they noted that they were open until 1:30am everyday. I ordered the shrimp fried rice. 15% tip is added automatically (manual calculation by hand); I'm not sure whether or not this is a bad thing - I guess an alternative view is to make your tip worth it by requiring good service throughout. To address some of the other reviews, service was alright but there's definitely some bias at play. The restaurant is a little grittier which is consistent with most restaurants in the area. The Chinese style of carpet laid restaurant flooring doesn't lend itself towards easy upkeep unfortunately.View more
