Au petit poucet brings beans & ham to a certain artform. If ever you're a fan of beans, get the casserole with a side of maple syrup. You won't regret it.
Beyond a breakfeast at le Poucet, for more thsn 20 years, I buy, each year when i do my Mapke Shack style diner at home. The Ham, the Tourtiere also called Meat Pie, Beans, & add the famous Option Sucree Maple syrop... always the diner receives four stars... the best from Le Petit Poucet

Excellent french Canadian cuisine. Their specialty is their ham, homemade smoked slowly with maple syrup. Yummy. Very good menu & reasonable price. So popular, there always a waiting , but they built a cool lobby with a central wood, chairs & free coffee as you wait.
Really enjoy Au Petit Poucet for breakfast. Was looking for something different than the usual spots in Montreal & decided to try this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend. Everything was delicious from beginning to end! We both took the Ogre dish which came with eggs, sautéed potatoes, bacon, ham, beans with ham & pain ménage. Portions were generous & left the restaurant extremely satisfied!
I really enjoyed my breakfast there. I went early to get a spot & avoid waiting in line. The food was delicious. I got the benedictine with maple ham, it was yummy. The potatoes were super tasty too. They have fresh orange juice that I totally recommend. The vibe is one of the warmest places I've been to in Québec. There's also a big parking lot out front. It seems like on weekends the wait for a table is about 2 hours, so come early. No reservations.
Being there makes you truly believe in Santa Claus !! The atmosphere smells Christmas Spirit . The staff is kind & attentive. The food shows how much they care about each one of us, clients. That's good in every detail, since taste , quality , to appearance . The smoked salmon is so buttery that melts in your mouth. Dont miss the bread of house, with ham or a fresh strawberry jam. & bring your camera to take beautiful pictures, especially close to the fireplace with real fire.
This by far has been a beautiful experience being my first time here. The waitress was super nice to the point where they suprised us with an Anniversary song & dessert. The coffee here is amazing. The food was delicious the bacon , beans , creton, ham was some of the best that I ever tasted. I will definitely be back 100%
By far the best food in the city. I look forward to my meals here every year that we are up north. The French onion soup, beans, ham & maple syrup on snow are the best
Wow, great place to discover! Lunch is excellent; everything is made on site except bread, but ham; bacon beans are delicious. The service is magical (always hot coffee in our cup!) / Let's talk about jams / Ohh yum they are delicious

If you are looking for hearty classics, this place delivers big time! Split Pea Soup -- Fantastic! Baked Beans -- Fantastic! Tourtiere -- Fantastic! Maple Ham -- Fantastic! Local beer -- Obviously fantastic! Thanks for a great time!
As a repeat customer this restaurant never disappoints us. Today we were a party of six, & as usual, everyone's orders came as expected. Eggs cooked perfectly, country style bread toasted to perfection. Cretons so tasty, & not to forget the tasty sauteed potatoes. Bacon was perfectly done & not salty, & the ham was so tasty & lean. Our server Assia, was excellent! Great atmosphere!
My favorite breakfast place in the whole Laurentide, worth a detour every weeks even if I live 1 hour away. Now that I moved far away, it is still my place to go when I come visit without a doubt The food is out of this world, fresh, hot, fast, smoked, home made everything! Take out counter you can choose from smoked ham or sausage, meat pie, maple products & lot more. The service is excellent, every people working is that place are nice, welcoming & kind to you. The ambiance is the best. Makes you feel you're taking some time off in a chalet by the fire. They even have complementarity coffee while you wait for your table!
Best restaurant for authentic Quebecois breakfast for miles around. Their home made smoked ham is the best I've ever had. We regularly drive 2.5 hours just to pick up some ham. A must to stop at while in the Laurentians. Please expect long lineups on weekends.

Came here last winter & food / atmosphere was absolutely wonderful here. That maple syrup flavored ham & bacon will forever be ingrained in me. My kids loved it too. Can't wait to come back on our next ski trip to Tremblant.
Great ambiance. It felt like going to a sugar shack but with much better food. First time going to a Quebecois restaurant. We had the omelette breakfast which came with maple smoked ham, les oreilles de crisse ( fried pork skin - actually quite tasty), really delicious ham & beans in a maple sauce, fried potatoes & toast. Note the omelette is more like a soufflé. Definitely recommend sharing if you are a light eater. Servers were super friendly Beware this place seems uber popular. There was a 20 minute wait. They don't take reservations.
The outside look of it is gorgeous as well as the interior, it is cozy, it is authentic, it is perfect.
You can enter only to buy some product like smoke ham, meat pie, chicken pie, maple products, etc.
But you can also dine in this beautifull place. The service was friendly, great & very quick. We ordered a mimosa, a bloody caesar, the raclette entree & asperagus plus our 3 meals (croque-monsieur, club sandwich & ragoût de pattes de cochon & boulettes) & by the time we went to the bathroom it was all served. The taste of our meal was spot on, great use of spice, with this amazing warmth of homecook food.
You can bring the leftover home with you for a small cost for the compostable container. The breakfast are actually served all day long if you want. The price of your meal are very fair for what you get.
This place is worth the detour !
& it's adapted for disabled.
This was such an exciting find - a restaurant that's basically a year-round cabane à sucre (sugar shack) with a warm, cozy loghouse atmosphere complete with large indoor fireplace! & the food is excellent! Their thinly shaved smoked ham, tourtière (I guess it's really more meat pie than tourtière) with fruit ketchup, baked beans, French onion soup, & crepes are sooo good. Definitely worth a visit for typical Quebecois fare, plus it's next to the charming Val-David town centre.
