The outside look of it is gorgeous as well as the interior, it is cozy, it is authentic, it is perfect.
You can enter only to buy some product like smoke ham, meat pie, chicken pie, maple products, etc.
But you can also dine in this beautifull place. The service was friendly, great & very quick. We ordered a mimosa, a bloody caesar, the raclette entree & asperagus plus our 3 meals (croque-monsieur, club sandwich & ragoût de pattes de cochon & boulettes) & by the time we went to the bathroom it was all served. The taste of our meal was spot on, great use of spice, with this amazing warmth of homecook food.
You can bring the leftover home with you for a small cost for the compostable container. The breakfast are actually served all day long if you want. The price of your meal are very fair for what you get.
This place is worth the detour !

This was such an exciting find - a restaurant that's basically a year-round cabane à sucre (sugar shack) with a warm, cozy loghouse atmosphere complete with large indoor fireplace! & the food is excellent! Their thinly shaved smoked ham, tourtière (I guess it's really more meat pie than tourtière) with fruit ketchup, baked beans, French onion soup, & crepes are sooo good. Definitely worth a visit for typical Quebecois fare, plus it's next to the charming Val-David town centre.

c'est un monument! très rustique un vrai plaisir pour les yeux..entre les animaux empaillés & les objets anciens on ne sais plus ou regarder. Le déjeuné est fantastique ,très copieux. ça vaut le détour on ce sent dans un vieux chalet a la campagne. Le service est très bien..j'ai rien de négatif a dire..mon fils l'adore & il m'oblige a l’emmener de temps a autre même si c'est a presque 1h de chez nous..
Un must! Faut essayer ce restaurant mythique au moins une fois dans votre vie & il sera presque certain que vous y retourneriez! ;) Les assiettes sont belles & bonnes. Le prix est abordable. Leur pain "ménage", les confitures & les cretons sont un pur délice! Il est même possible d'achetez des produits faits maison. Le seul bémol est le fait qu'il est impossible de faire des réservations mais l'attente en faut franchement la peine!
Très bon déjeuner, idéal pour faire découvrir à des touristes des goûts bien Québécois!
Mais, il faut parfois attendre longtemps pour une place, heureusement, pour nous faire attendre: café & chocolat nous sont offerts. Belle ambiance chaleureuse.

Très beau resto au décor rustique & chaleureux qui vaut assurément le détour pour un déjeuner ou un brunch lors d'un déplacement dans les Laurentides. Un magnifique foyer en pierre orne la pièce & réchauffe l'atmosphère. L'attente est parfois un peu longue, mais en vaut la peine. Les portions sont généreuses & les plats bien goûteux. Essayez les fèves au lard & le jambon, excellents! Cependant, il vous en coûtera plus cher que dans un resto déjeuner conventionnel. Il est préférable de prendre une assiette complète (+/- 15$), car certaines assiettes moins dispendieuses viennent en fait sans rôties ni patates ?! Il faut les prendre en extra & ça fini par revenir plus cher. On y retourne, c'est sûr!
I've-been going there for the past (over) 30 years, have recommended this resto since then unfortunately for me as the waiting time is now long hahahaha but worth while,soooo good!!!! A landmarkk & you won't regret it!!!!
