About

Ramen Isshin delivers a comprehensive experience defined by authentic Japanese noodle craft and deep, complex broths. The menu highlights signature offerings like the red miso ramen and the rich tonkotsu, which rely on traditional preparation techniques to achieve depth of flavor. Diners encounter a selection of handmade noodles tailored to specific soup bases, ensuring the perfect texture for every bowl served. Small plates such as crispy gyoza and savory karaage accompany the noodle dishes to round out the meal. The interior design reflects an utilitarian aesthetic common in traditional Japanese noodle shops, prioritizing efficient service and focus on the bowl. This establishment provides a precise focus on bowl assembly, balancing salty, umami, and aromatic elements consistently across every portion prepared for patrons seeking a genuine taste of Japan.

Review Summary

Ramen Isshin is widely recognized for its high-quality, flavorful broths and consistently excellent service provided by a friendly and attentive staff. While the ramen varieties and textures, particularly the thick and chewy noodles, receive high praise, experiences with portion sizes and specific appetizers like takoyaki remain mixed. The atmosphere is generally described as cozy and pleasant, making it a popular destination for students and those seeking a reliable Japanese dining experience, though some diners suggest that overall consistency and value could be improved given the competitive nature of the surrounding area.

J'ai essayé le tsukemen au curry c'était pour un temps limité. Le meilleur des deux mondes! Montréal a besoin de faire connaître plus le tsukemen! J'ai adoré!!

Ordered spicy white sesame shio ramen. I would highly recommend you order this instead of the regular white sesame shio ramen. The spicy oil isn't spicy at all but make the broth so much better. Overall is good but the bamboo feel like take out directly from the bag or container. If I was the cook I would cook with with store sauce to make flavor better. Small detail but I am a bamboo lover.

Overall still a good ramen in the town, this & sansotei & this would be my top options when I think of ramen.

L'endroit est chaleureux pour un bon plat chaud & réconfortant mais c'est légèrement dispendieux 8/10

I went on a Tuesday evening with a group of 5. I got the spicy dragon ramen & it hit the spot. I also got their Lychee Ramune, which was a nice addition. The manager was a super chill guy. They also have a sick playlist. It is a great ramen addition to this area. I will definitely go back to try the other ramens & the sides as well. The price is decent I'd say.

The assari shoyu was said to be the lightest of the shoyus, however we thought it was VERY'rich' & still salty (not THAT salty). The extra pork cha su were nicely torched & smoky. The spicy miso was delicious, not too spicy for those who cant handle spice. The korokke was a bit expensive for what it is, but still nice! I would definitely come back!
