The fries were completely covered in salt & were far too salty for us to eat. Fortunately, the waitress removed the fries from our bill, which we appreciated.
We ordered two Cokes & asked for ice. We didn't expect to receive four glasses of ice, but the waitress brought them to us. We also requested a couple of plates so we could share our food.
However, we were later charged for the two sharing plates & the four glasses of ice. We believe the staff should have informed us in advance that there would be extra charges for the plates & ice so we could have decided whether we still wanted them.
Was lucky to get a seat at the bar on a rainy Sunday afternoon - there was a huge convention in town & a lot of places were closed but not QDC Burger. The owner came around the bar & asked if I was in town for the convention, I said! Yeah sure. I'm hungry, but not too hungry. Turns out I was hungry. I had their Caesar salad which was Devine! Real dressing with crispy lettuce & salty anchovies - mixed within the greens, interesting take - the dressing was just there & when you went to cut & dig into the salad - you essentially had the freshest bite possible, not soggy or limp. I thought it was a genius move. Not knowing what to order for a burger, I was presented with the most perfectly cooked piece of meat, sandwiched between a bun. I like it on the Rarer side & this didn't disappoint. There was a little pork belly on the inside & the fries were hot, seasoned & paired well with the homemade aioli - thank you for spoiling me with your gastronomy! Oh yeah! & the wine was amazing too!
Great friendly place, excellent location. Fast service. Burgers are BIG! Come with a good appetite. Our waiter, Demetria, was great!
Great experience at QDC Burger. The service was exceptional: friendly, attentive, & truly made us feel welcome from start to finish.
The atmosphere is relaxed with great music at the perfect volume, making it easy to have a conversation. The burger & truffle fries were amazing, compliments to the chef.
Highly recommend!
First time visitor today (7/3/26).
The waiter, & I'm assuming manager &/or owner, was awesome. Very friendly, one of those guys that you've known your whole life when you first meet him. I couldn't complain about him if I tried.
The food was some of the best I've ever had in Canada. The general Tao sandwich was perfect & worth every penny, the Cuba libre drink was the best I ever had.
Tension was running high today with the chef & the waiter. It was busy, it was hot outside, it happens, I get it. The interactions were short but loud, noticeable, sprinkled with harsh language & kids were within earshot.
Would & will I eat there again? You can bet on it. Would I recommend it? I already have. My only suggestion would be to keep buisness buisness away from the customers. They handled it inside but it's a small operation & sound carries.
Outside of that, I wish I could give these guys a 1000/10 rating. That chef cooks arguably the best food in Montreal.
I don't if this day they weren't happy or something was going on, but my family & I didn't have a good time at this restaurant. All of our burgers were burned, the bacon was harsh, impossible to eat, & the fries were more oil than potato. My sister ordered the lollipop chicken, it didn't have any kind of warning that it was spicy, & it was really hot, she couldn't eat it. Staff was friendly, but we felt like they didn't want us there, before our plates were even empty, they came to ask us if we were finished. We felt like they didn't want us to spend that much time at their restaurant. The place was nice, good decoration. I hope there's some kind of explanation, we went there yesterday after multiple recommendations of locals & internet reviews, we had high expectations, which were not at all fulfilled.
Hands down the best burger I have ever eaten. The burger was perfectly cooked, juicy, & full of flavor. The ingredients tasted fresh, & everything was well balanced without being overly greasy. The bun was soft, the toppings complemented the meat perfectly, & every bite was excellent. The service was friendly, & the overall experience exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be coming back & highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an outstanding burger.
Best Burger in Montreal🤩
We also ordered the short rib poutine & it was delicious!
Is it a little pricey?
Yes….but so worth it😜
The burger meat is fresh & grilled to perfection, so juicy, tasty & huge!
My hubby & I shared the 1/2 lbs cheeseburger with pork-belly bacon(delicious!) caramelized onions, with a short rib poutin, plenty of cheese curds & short-rib meat that melts-in-your-mouth! The Fries are the best we ever had!
This poutin is huge! perfect for 2 to share!
The service was also amazing! Thank you Dimitra for your wonderful service! Your kindness, great sense of humour & positive energy made our dining experience so enjoyable!
Everything was perfect🤩
Thank you again QDC, we will for sure be back❤?😋
Delicious burgers, very flavorful & juicy meat. You can go for the classic one & still get great quality.
The service was excellent. We loved the warmth & kindness of the waitress. The service was fast, polite, & friendly. If you feel like eating something delicious in the Old Port, this is an excellent optio
If you're reading the mixed reviews & hesitating - let me settle it for you.
People complain about the price. $28 for a burger, fries, & a drink. Here's what they're missing: Peter is using USDA Prime & Canadian AAA beef, dry-aged richness, jumbo Cajun shrimp on the Surf & Turf, real Wagyu on the Wagyu burger, foie gras, black truffle, lobster - these are steakhouse-grade ingredients on a brioche bun. Go price out a steak dinner with these same ingredients anywhere in Old Montreal & come back to me about value. The Rico Opera alone eats like a fine dining experience compressed into a burger.
The fries are not an afterthought - they're some of the best in the city, served with a house garlic aioli you'll want to take home in a jar. The short rib poutine is decadent in the way poutine is supposed to be but almost never is. The French Dip might be the sleeper hit of the menu.
& then there's Peter. Some reviews call him intense. He is. He's a chef who cares deeply about how his food is meant to be eaten & isn't going to pretend otherwise to get a tip. If you walk in expecting a fast-food transaction, you'll be confused. If you walk in curious, ask him what to order, trust the recommendation, & pay attention to the plate in front of you - you'll get one of the best meals in Montreal & a real conversation with the guy who made it. That's not a flaw. That's the entire point.
This place was born out of Queue de Cheval, an institution of Montreal. The DNA is still there. You're not paying burger prices because it isn't a burger joint - it's a steakhouse that happens to put it between two buns.
Stop reading reviews. Just Go.
