Love this place, only good experiences so far. They have a limited vegetarian menu, but the Mezza dish with falafel & hummus is excellent ( I am a falafel hater, & it is only one of two that I have ever found acceptable to good) the rest of my family though goes for the pot pies. Not just DELICIOUS, but beautiful to behold. Our waitress this last time was fantastic. Helpful & friendly but unobtrusive. Nice cream ale to top off the pub vibe.
Loved this little pub/restaurant! Met for dinner after a day of exploring Old Montreal. Cool vibe with a lot of character. Cool art & fixtures. Staff was wonderful. Helpful & gave great recommendations! The Assiette Mezze was delicious. Cream of mushroom soup was rich & tasty. Burger & were both hits! Nice selection of mocktails. Upon recommendation I tried the Limonade Rose & Noix & it was fabulous!
Stopped in at Wolf & Workman for lunch between two client meetings & honestly… this place understood the assignment.
I walked in & immediately got that warm, chill, cozy feeling. Perfect indie rock at the right volume vibes. The kind of music that says'stay a while, but don't panic if you have emails.'
The manager was at the bar doing some work, bartender greeted me right away, & when I asked for a quiet spot with a plug to get some laptop work done, they both made sure I was set up properly. Small detail, big win.
My waitress had a serious, slightly cold demeanor but in a good way. April Ludgate energy, minus the chaos. Dry. Professional. Zero nonsense. I loved it.
I ordered an Old Fashioned. She made sure to confirm it was their version (slightly different than the traditional one). I said yes.
Excellent decision.
It was fantastic genuinely one of the best Old Fashioneds I've had in a while, & this is my go-to drink.
Then came the W-W burger (burger of the day). Caramelized onions, jam, cheese the works. Quality ingredients, cooked right. The brioche bun initially felt firm, but it turns out it was just preparing me. That crunch ended up being exactly what the burger needed.
The patty was perfectly rosé… but let me be clear:
This burger was actively trying to escape.
Like a raccoon realizing the trash lid is loose, the patty kept making break attempts from the bun. This is not a burger you casually pick up, put down, & reflect on life choices. No. Once you lift it, you commit. Setting it back down becomes a high-risk maneuver.
I foolishly attempted to pause mid-burger. Bad idea.
Quick reassessment. Napkin deployed on lap for safety.
Second pickup. Final pickup. No turning back.
Despite several escape attempts, I managed to keep it together & enjoyed every bite. The waitress noticed my struggle &, without breaking character, quietly brought extra napkins for the aftermath. Respect.
Am I mad about the inconvenience? Not at all.
It's a burger. Deal with it.
& more importantly ... it was phenomenal.
Cozy, classy, busy but still quiet. A little expensive, but expensive in the right way.
I'll absolutely be back next time I'm nearby.
One of the best pubs/bars in the Vieux Port area of Montreal. The decoration was lovely, a mix of old school pub vibes with a classy bar. The prices were very reasonable, we were dumbfounded that you could still get a beer for 8.50, even more so in this area of town. There was a few TV's to watch sports, but not too many to lose its charm.
The service was solid, even when it was busy, the people serving were kind.
This has now become my go to pub in the area, you get a little bit of everything without taking away anything.
Hands down the BEST pub in Montreal, & quite possibly Eastern Canada. Superb atmosphere. Vibes are exceptional thanks to the staff, & the owners have clearly put a ton of thought & love into making this a true pub experience. Whoever runs this place, you're crushing it. Can't wait to go back!
This place is a great experience & one of the finer Pubs in Montreal. This is a must visit for locals & travelers!
The way the atmosphere hits the right pub vibe. Small, cozy, friendly, & expansive. The wood finish & the lighting gives a sense like you have been going there your whole life.
The service was very friendly, super fast, & helpful. Our waiter understood we only spoke English & that was no problem on their end.
The food was outstanding & very creative! Arancini to start is the way to go as they were tasty, creamy, & hearty. The Chicken Pot pie was super hot but it was delicious. The seafood pasta was very fresh & filling. The presentation & portion size was near perfect. The drinks were mixed to perfection. The mixology is top tier here.
The prices are above average but worth every bit.
Overall, Pub Wolf & Workman is an amazing place to have a bite to eat or watch a futball game with the regulars that go there. This is a hometown pub up & down.
The bar with a historical vibe In the old Montreal area. Not many bars have TV Live broadcast baseball gsme. Just passed by & ordered a beer to watch Bule Jays game.
