I just want to preface this by saying we are from Atlanta & we are used to good food & this place did not disappoint. Three people got each of the potpies (beef stroganoff, chicken & fisherman). All 3 were fantastic! My son got a burger & fries. That burger is in my personal top 5 burgers in my life! Overall we had a great experience. 10 out of 10, highly recommend!
Amazing food. The chicken pot pie & salad fattouche de sucrine was absolutely fantastic. Cream ale was a standout. Highly recommend this spot. Super chill. Great service too!!
Mind you we went here because it had great ratings & it did not disappoint! Gabriel was our server & she was excellent with perfect English & French (I presume). ;)
We sat'outside' on a warm day but were glad to have a seat. Outside is an interior open courtyard.
We only ordered what she suggested - croquette appetizer (amazing) & a chicken pot pie for me & a fisherman's pie for my wife. Both were as good as it gets. They also have great Quebec beer on tap & interestingly good cocktails.
Our first time together in Montreal so much to see!
Great pub with really good comfort food. I had the chicken pot pie & it was delicious. Service was excellent. The host who greeted us was very accommodating & moved us from an inside table to a patio table when we asked for it. A very popular place, even with all the street construction happening outside. Reservations recommended.
I enjoyed the steak tartare with their homemade chips. That was delicious. One of my friends had the chicken pot pie, which they quite enjoyed. Two people had the W&W burgers. They said they were pretty good, but they were quite red in odd places. Like not in the center. So they probably ate half of their burgers. But what they ate they enjoyed. It's just unfortunate that they were not cooked correctly. I also enjoyed a delicious spicy margarita type cocktail, which is the only thing I was able to get a picture of.
Such great service here! I asked to sit somewhere quiet, & they had the perfect spot. The waiter was so polite & friendly, she was fantastic. I ordered a wolf & workman ale & dinner. Get the chicken pot pie! It's a showstopper.
We have been here twice since we arrived for a conference in Montreal. The staff are friendly & welcoming & the patrons were friendly. I really enjoyed the chicken pot pie & the old fashions were spectacular. Highly recommend this establishment to people are wanting to experience the Montreal culture.
Great food the wife had the huge chicken pot pie was very hot & delicious, I had the W W burger was very tasty !!The old fashion with
Makers Mark 514 was great we would definitely come back!!
Love this place, there is no crazy huge menu, what they serve, they do it well! I would highly recommend the chicken pot pie, OMG- Sooo good!! We have brought several friends here on different occasions & seasons & they have all enjoyed the cozy atmosphere. Cheers!
Bonne expérience! Il faut goûter le chicken pot pie, mais attention ce plat est disponible juste pendant le soir (pas à midi)
My wife & I & two other couples met for a pre-Christmas brunch at Wolf & Workman Pub on St. Paul Street in Old Montreal. The first thing you notice is the décor of the pub, it's has a beautiful interior with lots of dark wood, stone walls, polished brass & red leather seating, It really is a beautiful restaurant. Wolf & Workman has a unique combination of British & Quebecois food, fused in unique combinations. We ordered from the brunch menu & I had the W&W burger, which is a very generous burger portion coupled with hand cut fries. The Pub added an additional spicy mayo to the burger dish which was excellent. My wife ordered the crunchy sucrine salad with pesto with an additional order of chicken. She said it was excellent. The service at W&W was excellent & the Pub is equipped with a wide range of beer, wine & liquors for even the eclectic palate. Non-alcoholic options are available as well. Eating at Wolf & Workman was really a wonderful experience & one we would recommend to anyone visiting Old Montreal. A special shout-out to our server Chantal who was absolutely excellent!
We got the burger & the chicken pot pie & they were both delicious. Fun atmosphere inside & very nice servers.
I didn't eat, but what my friends had looked all in all delicious & plentiful, especially the Indian chicken. The burger looked average & the fries burned. Friendly service & nice outdoor seating in a court decorated with little light chains.
Food is good, but nothing crazy. For some reason our waiter "changed" 3 times , they(the waiters) were all quite nice , but its a bit confusing. All dishes are beautifully plated, but some would benefit from(better) sides, for example the fish is said to come with a puree, but the puree is such that it blends with the sauce. When I read puree I expect a minimum of consistency. Also despite it not being indicated I could taste something akin to dill, or anise in the fish's sauce. The burger's fries are quite great, The caprese too. I was disappointed in the pasta, they were overly salty, I never did that ever, but I requested them to redo it, & from my understanding it was impossible to do, since the pasta's sauce is done in "batch/great quantity" (not that it isnt fresh), I ended up changing my dish to chicken, but I genuinely did not want to eat an indian dish that day. Also we came at around 5 , & were a group of 3 but, it took a while for our dish to come , some people came after us, & had the time to receive their drinks & dishes before us. Overall everyone was quite nice, but I cannot say it was my best experience. Small tidbit, our first waiter spoke english & french, but seemed to struggle a bit(with french), but I applaud their choice to come back to make sure of our order instead of taking it wrong. Strongest point of this place, is the ambiance, the decor, & the art, & sort of terrace behind, which is isolated from the busy streets.
Great spot for lunch! Fast, friendly service, prices ok (for Old Montreal, anyway). I ordered the chicken pot pie, & it was very good. The sauce was maybe missing a kick (more white wine, maybe?), but the portion was generous & filled with juicy, tender chicken & the pastry was phenomenal. Some kind of side (steamed veg, green salad) would have been welcome for the price. Nonetheless, highly recommended!
Chicken pot pie is heavenly. Feels like a warm hug on a cold day. Bravo
Loved the experience. I will be back for The Chicken Pot Pie ❤️ Loved their cocktails. On point 👉
Lovely pub atmosphere & decor. The best Chicken Pot Pie i've ever had.
The chicken pot pie is the best I've ever tried. It was suggested by the man seating next to us & he said it was his favorite chicken pot pie & that he went to this place every week to have it. He was right, it was amazing, & the price was fair considering the amount of food. We also had drinks (Lysa is a must try) & the smoked sturgeon as an appetizer, which was really good as well. It gets pretty crowded, but it was easy to get a table for two (Thursday dinner) & the service was so lovely they even managed to get us a table in the backyard, which is adorable!
