Provisions Bar à Vin is widely regarded as a standout destination in Montreal, celebrated for its unique combination of a high-quality butcher shop and a cozy, stylish dining atmosphere. Guests consistently praise the exceptional meat, particularly the perfectly cooked steaks and delicious burgers, alongside a creative menu of small plates and a well-curated wine list. While the majority of visitors highlight the warm, welcoming, and professional service provided by the staff, some note occasional inconsistencies regarding portion sizes, pricing transparency for wines, or service speed. Overall, the establishment is frequently described as a top-tier choice for those seeking a memorable culinary experience with attentive staff and high-quality ingredients.
The atmosphere is warm & cozy, very good wine selection, & the food was delicious. The steak & fries were perfectly cooked & full of flavor. Everything felt well thought-out & high quality.
The only downside was that the service was a bit slow at times, but it didn't take away too much from an otherwise great evening.
I passed by the restaurant during the day & the concept of a butcher & a restaurant at the same place made me very curious. It worked perfectly, it was a nice experience to choose the steak, see it before been cooked & receiving the best steak I have ever eaten in any restaurant in Montreal. We asked the steak medium & it was perfectly cooked medium, a delightful experience for meat lovers. The roasted garlic & the butter to use on the steak were a perfect combination, the French fries were crispy, well season. The waiter was pleasant, polite & very knowledgeable about the menu. We paid around $130 for the steak for 2 people, it is more in the expensive side especially if you drink a glass of wine, but the quality of the meat makes it so worth it ! Looking forward to going back & maybe next time they will have the beautiful flambe cake we saw in the reviews, count me in !

Thanks for the great food & attentive service. It was an excellent service from the start when we were setting up a reservation for 8 people. The execution was on point. The wine selection was excellent.
I've been to this place 3 times now & recommended it to a lot of friends & family. The quality of the meat is to die for. The service is always wonderful & the wine list is great. The ambiance is warm & intimate. It can get busy but you can still hear yourself speak. I would've given it a 5 star, but I was greatly disappointed of my last visit. I had been wanting to show this place to a friend for a while. While making my reservation, I saw that they offered a special on Monday nights for 25$ which includes: cheeseburger, fries & beer. Thought this would be a great idea for a weekday late night meal with a friend & to support neighbourhood gems. Considering only 3 tables were taken that night including us, I didn't think it would be a bother. The cheeseburger came without fries. It was pointed out by one of the employees but nothing was done. The cheeseburger was delicious, but overall disappointed. It's should've been served as advertised. We were still charged 25$ each despite the missing fries.
Well well, this was an experience! first of all, they share space with a butcher shop, so you can imagine the quality of meat. Vegetarian friends, don't be afraid, there are many items to enjoy. I had the tasting menu paired with wine that was great, the wine selection is wonderful & vast. There is something for many tastes, it is high quality & you pay accordingly, the service is great. I definitely recommend this place, take a loan out from your bank & go experience this place, you won't be disappointed.
This place is a hidden gem that offers an unforgettable dining experience in a cozy, intimate setting. From the moment you walk in, the welcoming atmosphere & attentive service make you feel right at home. The staff is knowledgeable & passionate about the menu, offering thoughtful suggestions to enhance your meal. The food is truly exceptional, with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients & a menu that showcases both creativity & skill. Each dish was beautifully plated & bursting with flavor, making it clear that the kitchen pays attention to every detail. The wine & cocktail selection also impressed, with carefully chosen options that perfectly complement the dishes. Whether you're there for a casual dinner or a special occasion, it delivers on all fronts. It's the kind of place that makes you want to return again & again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a top-tier dining experience in a relaxed, inviting atmosphere.
As a pescatarian, this restaurant made me question my orientation. Superior food & amazing service in a chill atmosphere (& I'm v. jealous of my friend's steak). Wine list & cocktails don't disappoint. 10/10 recommend for date night + for groups!!
Exceptional! I went for lunch & had one of the best meals I've had in Montreal. The quality of the food is 100% top-notch. You can taste the freshness & love put into the dishes. I had the Bolognese Brisket & endive salad. I can only come up with hand gestures to say how good the bolognese was. Compliments to the Chef. I love that their wine selection changes & they give you exactly what you're looking for. Wine was exceptional as well. I hope to return to Montreal soon just so I can go back here.
