Review Summary

PRIME Bar à Boeuf receives polarized feedback, with many customers praising the high-quality, flavorful beef and the delicious smash burgers as some of the best in Montreal. Fans frequently highlight the excellent ingredients, the unique house sauces, and the welcoming nature of the staff, often describing the experience as a significant step up from standard mall fare. Conversely, some visitors express frustration regarding the high price point relative to the food court environment and report inconsistencies in food quality, specifically citing issues with soggy fries, occasionally overcooked or greasy burgers, and portions that do not always justify the cost. While the majority of guests are impressed by the culinary craftsmanship and attentive service, others find the overall value lacking, making it a polarizing spot that delivers a premium product for some while failing to meet expectations for others.

I've tried just about every great burger in the city, & the smash burger from Prime is the one I can't stop thinking about. This isn't one of those paper-thin, lacy smash burgers either - this is a real burger. Thick, juicy, meaty, with an incredible crust on the outside. You can taste the quality of the beef & the fat rendering into every bite. Packed with flavour, perfectly cooked, & served on a soft Martin's potato roll. Absolute top-tier burger.

Fries, Caesar salad, prime rib sandwich & hotdog are also top tier.

Tasty smash burgers & good truffle mayo to go with the fries. Great spot to grab a bite to take a break from shopping.

Love the chicken burger. For those complaining that it's expensive, it's worth a few extra dollars because you get so much chicken. The best time to go is when the weather is nice enough to sit outside. The food court is top-notch for a suburban mall & is the only reason I go to Royalmount as I'd rather shop downtown. On my last visit, I wanted to buy something at a decent stationery store like Nota Bene or Stylo. I was also looking for a bookstore & a fun Japanese shop like Muji or Oomomo, but was out of luck. Great food in a second rate mall.

First & last time eating here. It's definitely not worth the price. 50$ for 1 hamburger, 1 frie & 2 drinks. My 5 year old took a few bites of my hamburger but both our stomachs hurt after an hour. Maybe the meat wasn't fresh. 🤢

Smash burger: Crispy-edged, juicy-centered AAA Angus beef, dripping with melted cheese & layered with caramelized onions, fresh lettuce, pickles, & that rich, tangy house sauce.
Golden fries on the side, hot, salty, impossible to resist & a chilled glass of bubbly to lift every bite. It's indulgent, it's messy, it's exactly what you want right now. #PRIMEBARABOEUF #Montreal

For the price id expect the burgers to not be charred to oblivion. They shouldnt be burnt anywhere actually. Smash burger a slippery soggy mess. Disappointing. Will have to try again as hopefully this was just a one time thing. Expected & hoped for better from this place.
