During my first visit, none of the staff greeted or acknowledged me even though there were multiple employees present.
On my second visit, I purchased a dessert for takeout. At the register, the cashier reached over & operated the payment terminal herself, selecting a tip option before handing it to me. Whether to leave a tip should be the customer's choice. Since it was a takeout order & I had not received any notable service, I found it inappropriate & uncomfortable.
ROYAL CAKE (FUll size) A SCAM.
NOT GOOD. GÂTEAU ROYAL (format entier) : UNE ARNAQUE. PAS BON. Terrible service a la clientèle.
Bad Customet experience.
Read English below please.
I ordered a full Royale Cake thinking it was the same as the individual one I am used to. I had bought that for our anniversary on the long weekend may 15-18, WHAT A DISSAPOINTMENT. Te top is soft & has lots of mousse, instead of the hard top & crunchy-soft mix I like in the middle. The taste is not the same even !!I went back to speak to the manager on May 19 ( didntvget his name), with the cake itself as we had not eaten it, except for a small piece when we tried it. He did not want to just anything, argued it was the same recipe, which is not. I spent almost 40 dlls & did not eat the cake. I would have been very happy if he had simply offered a individual cake for free...it is called custo er service, which evidently he does not know about it. In fact, I am not surproded since as a regular client for 15 years tha I lived in the area, I rarely has a nice custo er experirnce. The store in terrebone has a better service, I will evenrually go back & enjoy an individual cake Royale. But for now, I am yaking a break from the PM bad experience.
They make freshly baked bread but what I loved the most about the Premier Moisson Marché Jean-Talon location is the space & pastries. I came here alone once & with friends, & I would say it's a nice study area because of how much lighting there are. There are not many plugs so keep in mind on where you are sitting.
It's great to hangout & catch-up with friends. I love their desserts because it's simple yet flavourful. I'd recommend the Cream Eclair with tea/coffee!
What I ate: Latte glacé & Raspberry Pischachio cake (close to $14 CAD), Hibiscus Mango sparkling Tea & Cream Eclair (close to $12 CAD).
If you're not a regular you might not know where the'line' to get served is. Very awkward. Smells of divine bread . Great choice of breads, pastries, cakes, pies, croissants, etc. Coffee is ok but expected better in an Italian neighborhood. Friendly staff. Outside & inside seating. Parking (free if lucky, & $ in adjacent streets to the market)
Première Moisson is dangerous… & I mean that in the best way possible. Every time I walk in, I tell myself I'll just get one thing - & somehow leave with a full bag (& zero self-control).
Their pastries are so good they're personally responsible for my weight gain… & honestly, I'm not even mad about it. Everything is fresh, buttery, & impossible to resist.
If loving this place is wrong, I don't want to be right.
